The Prepar3d Forum

Every time I want to load a flightplan the default map in Prepar3d is "C:\Users\my name..." etc. But I want to change this to a default map on my D drive (where all my Docs are). How can I do that? And - secondly - is there a way to change the default 'Player1' name in Multiplayer? I'd like to put my own name as a default! Help is very much appreciated! KR, Theo The Netherlands

hello again. I've been reading some other forums on P3D and came across a post which the person said you should have these 3 settings. WATER_REFRACTION_DETAIL=0, ENABLE_BATHYMETRIE=0, WATER_CLARITY=0 This is mine currently and I'm getting about 20/25fps. What are the correct settings or is it down to machine spec etc. ENABLE_BATHYMETRY=0 WATER_CLARITY=30 WATER_REFLECTION_DETAIL=2 Thanks

Installed FSZAddon's Tongass Fjords using fsx2p3d with no problems. Everything displays EXCEPT the various custom AI. The scenery library is set up right, the files are there, if I enable labels I can see where they are supposed to be BUT they do not display. Anyone have success with this? Thanx, Vic

Hello I have just started looking at flight planners for use with P3d, I have just come across and have been looking at Plan-Gv3 which is freeware and looks good to me ,but as i have absolutly no knowledge of flight planners could anybody please help with the following , how easy is plan Gv3 to use , will it work well with P3d (the Author states it will work with P3d ,but how well ) ,If you were choosing a flight planner what would you choose and why please ,sorry to be so long winded but I have a feeling that flight planning is maybe a difficult subject to master many thanks for reading and any help you can give peter

Im looking for info regarding the new CYVR by Dreamteam and its compatibility with ORBX. Apparently Orbx says there are a couple of files that need to be removed in The Orbx folders but Im not able to find the info. Can someone direct me, Thanks.

Hi developers, I am really impatient concerning the release of your GLOBAL,but, have you thought about developing new submarine + water textures into FSX? Given that now we have pilotable,AI vessels and naval environment,expanding global textures below sea surface till a certain depth would be a plus. Imagine different sea surface states slaved to Active Sky downloads, thermal layers, different salinities........ Ship developers would be glad to work on submarines in order to recreate an inmersive aeronaval combat environment. TACPACK+SDK+...........,you know what I mean? Regards.

Hi I have installed this beautiful aircraft into P3d ,the author states it should work with P3d and i have also read it does work well in P3d ,well it looks superb ,but no gauges show ,the HUD works fine and switches are all OK and it fly's well ,I know it needs accelerator installed which is installed in FSX ,I believed that P3d included accelerator ,it was first installed into FSX and then drag /drop into P3d ,does anybody have any clues why this aircraft refuses to show its gauges many thanks for reading peter

I absolutely deny the claim that i have breached a EULA - and I am tired of the mindless debates that have gone around this issue. Hi All Does Prepar3d work with directx 10 and the dx10 fixes as shown on the AVSIM forum? Anyone here using it like that? I'm currently running FSX in DX10 and fairly happy with it, but if I can get better performance out of P3D then I'm considering it.

HI, It seems to me that there are few callsigns of the ATC in P3D than in FSX. A lot of callsign is just the number of flight but not the Airline, but I'm sure that this is just a configuration task. Do you know how to configure the airline callsigns? Thanks

I would appreciate some help guys. Just purchased new machine.. installed, everything is ok.. except for the YBBN Orbx software. Its is sitting over the AU software but I am seeing a ghosting of the airport. By that I mean I can see the old runways, taxi lines, and some taxi-ways near of close by.. ie: it appears to have overlaid it but can still see bits and pieces of the original runways etc. I'm stumped. Would appreciate help. Thanks

Hey, I know the Quality Wings support team is on holidays till Jan 2, 2013 (I will posting this info on their site on Jan 3 too), so I want to know is anyone having Memory crash within 5 min of choosing this aircraft in Prepar3d. I have the latest QualityWings 146 service pack 1.2 applied. I have tried all sorts of ways - clean install, install 1.2 update directrly, even created a fresh prepar3d config. I get OOM errors in less than or approx 5 min of choosing this aircraft. Thanks, skywolf

Hey guys, I have found since installing ORBX England (which is amazing), that when I fly over europe, my GEX Europe scenery is blurry and takes a very long time to load. I only noticed this since installing ORBX England and I'm not sure why it's happening... Any Advice as to how to fix this? Cheers, Dan

Just got KJAC the other day but the airport runways and taxiways keeps trying to decide on default scenery or Orbx scenery. It goes away after I get some altitude.. am I missing something? Thanks Larry
