I have all orbx scenery and all small airports. after buying uk orbx it is all big mess. water from the hills and pools where they do not belong is the issue. So I started from scratch again and after 4 days everything runs smoothly. as soon as downloaded and install the uk orbx there are again, water water and water. So I will get rid of w7 64 bit and all orbx scenery and buy w8 pro and see as an ultimate efford what will happen. If it dont run nicely than orbx will never be part of my scenery again. if someone has an answer that will give a solution you are welcome.

Hi all I'm a bit of a noob regarding orbx scenery and have a question regarding ftx central. Reading the docs I get the impression that you can only have one area active at a time,I currently have the pnw and england areas,my question is how or what is the best way to use both areas if you were carrying out a flight from say Boeing field to London Heathrow. for example. and what is the point of ftx central many thanks

G'day All, I have been convinced to try OPUS with P3D and it certainly clears up some of the irritating habits of some other live weather engines. The themes however are bland to say the least. OPUS recommends installing FEX, which I have done. OPUS acknowledges P3D but FEX does not. My themes and textures remain bland so clearly I have not installed correctly so that OPUS/P3D can load and display the themes. I have P3D installed at G:\Program Files (x86)\ and FSX on my C:\Program Files (x86) drive. I have done this to facilitate linking my Orbx scenery. My suspicion is that FEX has generated the themes but they have not been placed where OPUS/P3D can "see" t…

Hi all, I find it is not always clear on the Orbx website, which FTX region some of the US airports are in. So I am looking for a kind, patient fellow flyer who can confirm for me, which of ORbx's addon airports are within the PNW region only ? I think I've identified these ....... Anacortes Skagit Jefferson County Darrington Concrete Orcas Is ........ am I correct in believing that the above are in PNW? .......... And are there any others? Thanks

Hi everyone! I am trying to install an add-on in Prepar3D and it is working. I got into the aircraft etc. however, nothing in the cockpit seems to respond. When I hover over a button with my mouse, it recognizes the button or switch. However, it does not respond. I initially thought this would be a gauge permission problem, since it didn't ask me to grant any gauge files permission to run. I found all the gauges files which are located in the Panel folder of the aircraft and I tried to just copy its location into the Prepar3D.cfg. Nothing happened. I even installed the add-on aircraft on FSX and looked at the FSX.cfg to correct my prepar3d.cfg so i could edit the …

Does anyone know what damage it causes if you install a patch(es) for a local airport in the australia area, while the FTX Central is set to North America- does this cause the need to reinstall everything?

Hiya, I've gone from FS9 to P3D without having FSX at any point. My favourite GA for procedural training is a Cessna 172 but apart from the option of porting over the default FSX one (which I don't have) are there any modern 172's (I'm aware of the Caranedo one, but I would like modern avionics, autopilot etc) available for P3D? Will the A2A one have a P3D installer when it come out or are there any other options? Thanks, Paul

I searched for a topic on this unsuccessfully, but I'll apologize beforehand, if this has already been brought up. There is a nifty iOS app for the iPad that gives a you a complete synchronized Cessna 172 panel called fsi C172, by Avioware. I won't post a link, because I'm not quite sure that I understand their EULA fully. But you can either Google it or find it on the Apple store. There is also a version for Android tablets. The app is designed for FSX, but it also works with XPlane. There is a free version that supports only 10 minutes of flight at a time, so I downloaded it and tried it with Prepar3d. Guess what? I works perfectly. No messing with the registry, the cfg…

Hello All --- well decided to look into my next challenge and figure out how to have REX2 (older REX, not the newer version coming) installed in both FSX and P3D at the same time (not sure it can be done). REX claims compatibility with both sims. BUT....the installer for REX2 is very "pointed" at FSX and, maybe parts of it do not have to be installed again, to run in P3D. I have spent time reading the REX site, and forum, and cannot seem to get clear answers or directions of any kind. Am I barking at the moon here?? Is REX a "one-sim" add on only?? Appreciate any comments or help from anyone who had been through this exercise. Thanks As Always --- Bob B)

For those who have Orbx add-ons installed in P3D and get those pesky .dll warning messages every time you start P3D, looks like the fix has been released. Two versions: a Direct and a Linker app depending on how you have been installing. Rather than go through the details here is it on the Orbx news front page so check it out. Clutch

Hello, Sorry if this has been brought up before. I did look at some older topics and couldn't find anything. I'm thinking of moving from Fsx to Prepar3d and was wondering if the Academic license was enough to get the same enjoyment I currently get from Fsx? Also can I port over most of my add ons. Ftx orbx scenery, vfr photo scenery. aivlasoft efb. iFly, pmdg, caranado, quality wings, level design, flight 1 and a few others. Thanks again for reading.

Been using Prepar3d for the past few days now and is such an improvement. Got all my scenery and a certain 737 product ported across with the FSX2P3D tool and also downloaded the file from the Flight1 Forum for EZDOK to work in Prepar3d. When flying though at random times my EZDOK stops working and you can click through the cameras in the studio but they don't update in the simulator, it appears to look like this: Any thoughts? As it's really annoying and is ruining my flights. Thanks guys in advance.
