    With the demo, Au, Tansmania, I do not see roads in P3D but I do in FSX. Not too critical, but I am planning on getting AU-SP4 complete, and wish to use it in P3D. Will they appear? AND.... is it worth 100 bucks? after simming in PNW/PFj/CRM/NRM;

    Thought I would throw this out there for those who might be interested. Currently, if you are in the outside Spot view if you have your viewpoint, say, looking right at the front of your aircraft, the camera will always look from that point of view no matter if turn your aircraft left or right. I always preferred the option as your aircraft turned (like when taxiing around), your view of the aircraft would change as well. This was an option way back in the good ol' FS2004 days. I think it was called Spot with the option 'Roll' as opposed to 'Fixed'. Think of it as a tower view but you are right near the aircraft. A little hard to explain, so it is probably eas…

    Hello. I know Orbx just did S45, OG39 and West Yellowstone will be out soon. However, I was wondering if anyone had info on any other possible new releases. Also, is there a chance Orbx will do BFI?

    I installed UT2 and the IFly B 737 NGX using the migration tool.- I noticed that both addons have their uninstalling files within the P3D root folder./ (by the way, UT2 is not working, as it doesnt appear as a module at the addons bar).- At the Windows installing/uninstalling aplications facility, both show as recently installed in spite that I have them installed at FSX from time ago.- That makes me think that if I uninstall them now, they should go away both from P3D and FSX, am I right ?, and if so, how can I manage to uninstall them only from P3D ? Thanks

    Has anyone had any luck porting the PMDG 747 or MD11 into Prepar3d. If I try just transferring all the files, and the dll.xml stuff over it just thinks I'm pirating it and blacks out all my displays, droops the control surfaces, etc.

    I use FSX and it runs pretty well, now I purchased and installed P3D Academic, with the same graphics configuration and other settings (I have both exe's in the same profile at NVidia Inspector) , but it always crash after about 5 to 10 minutes running.- Warning signs appears telling that a fatal error ocurred and P3D is no working any more, and that Windows is trying to find a solution, after what it shuts off.-\ Is a pity, as I can notice within the moments it works, that it looks better than FSX, specially it is smoother at lower frame rates.- Opinions welcome Thanks My specs: i7 990X @ 4,6Ghz, GF570 GTX, 6 Gb RAM.- Win 7 64

  8. Hi guys, In reading the other thread about this i decided to do some investigation.. heres the results.. SB4 now works perfectly in P3D... whether or not this is die to my system i dont know but here is what id did ... you can even start SB4 from within the sim so no need to start externally so the transponder and message box are on top of the panel.. Install SB4 as normal to FSX Edit the DLL.XML in P3D Make sure both VIP and Squawkbox plane foldres are copied form FSX to P3D (simobjects>aircraft) The annoying "cant connect using simconnect - make sure flightsim is running" error was done away with by downloading a later version of simconnect and putting…

    Guys, you might remember there was an updated terrain.cfg for FSX made and suggested by a number of add-on developers with their sceneries. Does anybody know if terrain.cfg should also be replaced in P3D v1.4 when installing their add-ons? Please share what you know about terrain.cfg in P3D v1.4. Thanks, Dirk.

Can anyone let me know how the Orbx stuff performs? Would love this airport and do some KLAS to KJAC flights with the NGX. Just want to make sure it's all FPS friendly etc. Jas

    Hi, Im trying to find posts relating to VAFS client and how to get it to recognize P3D. My search has turned up nothing, unless im blindly missing something. Im sick and tired of FSX crashing mid flight on a 8 hour leg or crashing on approach. Then I get all these penalty points on my virtual airline. Need to get serious about using P3D. But this is my hold back because VAFS is not recognizing Prepar3d. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

  13. Hi, I am a long time simmer (25 years) and I alway's used MS Flight simulator. I invested a lot of money during the last 5 year and before I start migrating to P3D, I would like to know if my Cirrus ii with rudder pedals will work? Do I just need to installed the PFCFSX.dll in the module directory, and everything will work? or it is more complicated then this. From what I was able to read on the forum, everything else I own will work. I am also assuming that P3D, like FSX, support multi screen configuration? I currently run a 6 screens setup (where 3 of them are connected to a Triplehead2go) . Would appreciate any comment. Pierre

    Hi Guys, Just got the academic version, really plays smothly and great crisp graphics. What I would like to know is can you copy over the default FSX planes i.e the Boeings and Airbus etc, by just copying them into the SimObjects\Airplane folder of P3D ?. Also is there a way to assign joystick buttons to the zoom + & - keys, as I can't see the zoom function in the assignments. Thanks for any help. John.

    I run SB4 on a networked computer and, using the hints in several threads here, I have it running well with P3D except for one problem. Once connected, the SB4 Com Overlay appears on the P3D computer but behind the P3D display - I can only see it by using window mode and reducing the size of the P3D window. And of course I cannot use it in full screen {unlike FSX}. No one seems to have met this problem so v grateful for any help. John R

    I'd like to install REX and some other global add-ons both in FSX and Prepar3d, I have the migration tool. Do I need to run the installers twice? For FSX first then for Prepar3d? Also, what if I have REX installed already and set up for FSX. Can I run it for Prepar3D? Or should I reinstall REX? Thanks, Dirk.

    I'm posting this here because the thread is on the Official FTX forum. There's a great thread called Outback Air Race - Thanks! by Ed McGough. You'll find it in the General Discussion section of the forum. It's pictures of a Fund-Raiser Air Race for the RFDS in Oz. His pictures of the landscape of an area most of us only get to see from FL360 are fascinating. Well worth a look. A real showcase for the sheer variety of landscapes that those of us in more densly populated places would regard as wilderness. How many simmers would give anything for an opportunity to take part in a trip like this? Count me in. Geoff

  19. The ATC window in P3D is a big problem to me. It jerks everything when it "auto-opens" and then it drags the FPS down when open. Does anyone have any ideas about what do? Do we just wait until LM fixes the problem? There's not one mention of it on their website, which I find odd. Lee

  20. Hi everyone, Just installed Prepar3D 1.4, and one of the first things I checked was whether 3D vision was working correctly (I have 3D surround). Indeed, 3D switched on fine, but by closing one eye then the other, I could see that the separation between the two views was absolutely enormous (one eye seeing from inside the cockpit, the other outside about 3 or 4 feet away). Turning the depth down to the absolute minimum setting using the depth wheel on the emitter results in a reasonable depth, but turning it up even a single notch results in a large change in eye separation to the point where I can't merge the image any more, so I am stuck with no adjustability an…

    Hello guys, I created all the shares to Prepar3d on the client, and Active Sky 2012 starts ok on the client while Prepar3D is running on the server. But the weather does not change/refresh on the server unfortunately. If I start FSX on the server AS2012 works ok on the client, wx changes accordingly. How to make AS2012 work with Prepar3D in a network configuration? Thanks, Dirk

Whilst we impatiently wait for any news on the ORBX UK project it's interesting to note that several offers on UK Photographic scenery and bundles thereof have been selling out at considerably discounted prices. Latest offer for the Scenery alone arrived by newsletter from www.flightstore.co.uk this morning which has all the Generation X VFR photographic scenery at 50% discount! With the Treescapes for FSX, Xtreme UK Airports and UK VFR Airfields packages this must represent the most serious competitor that ORBX has anywhere (with the possible exception of NZ with their existing scenery coverage) It will be interesting to see a comparative review of these pack…

  24. So I was browsing what new P3D forums, sites, blogs, etc. which took me to Word Not Allowed's blog (highly recommended), and I see he updated his P3D tweaks article. So I thought what the heck even though I know mine is perfect I will do a little "comparison shopping". When I first came to the darkside of P3D all I did literally was rename my FSX.cfg file and dropped it into P3D. Fiqured if it was good enough for one sim must be good enough for the other, ha! Well, I musta found 3-4 tweaks that were just a little bit off from mine. Took a couple of seconds to change the settings and try it out. Can't hurt anything. MAN, can this sim get any better? What I t…
