Now I know its not offically ok, but I do know some forum members have maybe used the migration tool and successfully installed GEX. If you are now tempted to upgrade GEX to the new version and interface - 2.30 - you may find it cannot be installed at all. Unless someone knows another work-around? Just a word of warning... I just posted last night asking if we have heard anything more on Aerosoft's new sim that was in the planning stages. But I keep thinking about the future and direction of Prepar3d. I know it's a comercial sim and not for use for entertainment but with the release of 2.0 could that change? Some 3rd party developers have made it so their products won't work in P3D such as Flight 1 and Reality XP EZCA all under the Flight 1 wrapper. PMDG is also one of them also. With the advent of X-Plane 10 some of the major developers have stated that X-Plane architecture is not conducive for their time and development ( that's my words as I understand their position). Is there any way to install say, a FlyTampa scenery without having to use any tools? I tried to point it at the P3D main folder and it would not accept.

Hello Iam having a problem with aircraft names ,When starting up I get a message regarding aircraft with the same name,when this was one Aircraft no real issue just click to close then on we go with start up, Now after adding new Aircraft or aircraft with diff textures I have to click through about 16 aircraft before it starts up ,also when I want to change aircraft/Texture the same problem ,having to Click through the names ,its a pain ,so does anybody have an answer to this problem ,What do i alter to sort this out,I have also exp this in FSX many thanks for reading any help gratefully received peter

If I upgrade my VRAM from 384MB to 1024MB, will I possibly see a more smooth experience while panning around the aircraft? Right now I see a lot of small minute artifacts, and micro studders while panning. However I'm still getting 30-50 FPS.

When is a preview not a preview? Well the clue is in the word view! Is it just me or is the idea of previewing a new model in darkness not THE most bizarre thing you ever saw? Not only that but the initial shots that are in Daylight look blurred and are taken from a viewpoint that nobody would ever look at them? What am I waffling on about? Didn't see this anywhere yet, so let me ask - does one have to install a 3rd-party product twice if you are using both FSX and P3D, or can each FS reference one install? Does that Estonia Migration tool perform this, one install-two references? I would think there could be issues with some products (like ORBX), but have not investigated that yet. thx, Clutch

I was wondering if there is a way to use multiple computers to run Prepar3d, such that each takes on a different load. For example, one computer only processes ground scenery while another computer everything else, and the result is output to the same monitor.

Hi folks, I've had Flight1 Cessna Citation, v1.3 working fine for several months now. I was made aware that they have a new update v1.7. I downloaded and installed using the FSX2Prepar3D tool. Every thing installed fine, nav aids, just all of it. Upon selecting the aircraft, loaded fine, BUT, NO VC - period. Have 2 D Cockpit, outside views fine, but no vc. I did disable the Migration Tool first, and installed into FSX, just in case the Citation needed to use FSX files. I did make sure any files in the root of Prepar3D, Effects, Fonts, Gauges, and sound folders were ok. Any ideas? Thanks so much and have a blessed one. Tom

I am running FSX on my MacBook Pro currently. I would like to know if I would see more FPS if I were to invest in Prepar 3D at a complex add on airport such as Fly Tampa Boston in the NGX. Has anyone had experience with more performance under a larger load with P3D? If it's not worth my money please let me know.

For those who haven't/can't see the official forum Well to be precise a reproduction of a full page ad which will appear in PC-Pilot. But there is a promise of more screengrabs and some videos and a projected release in six weeks. The shot looks convincing but is so "generic" that it doesn't show us Brit's anything. Hopefully they'll feature some of the more challenging areas like the metropolitan areas with their suburbs and dense urbanisation soon. It will also be interesting to see some airfields and airports as they'll come with the landcover? Hi I would just like to ask if there were a couple of P3D users who would like to test an ILS approach if possible? I have tried and still get the aircraft rolling to the left on all approches! Hi, I'm trying to install the above freeware scenery of St Barts into FSX (AVSIM file library: st-barth_fsx.zip), but without success. The install runs fine, but the install is complex, and requires the modification of the default.xml under the autogen directory (there are readme files with clear instructions). Has anybody had any success with this scenery area in P3D, or if not, perhaps someone could try installing it to see if they have any success. I am using the Estonia migration tool to install this into P3D, and all file amendments are made by hand and checked. I think this is an old issue, but recently I noticed a lot of cloud flickering above mountains, and it looks pretty messy. Does anyone have/remember the solution for this?

Hello, I am looking to purchase a computer built only for P3D. I am a freak about getting it as smooth as possible without sacrificing scenery (although I will in order to maintain a smooth picture). Anyways I was wondering if anyone could give me some advice. What I am thinking about is running the PMDG 737 NGX in P3D, at an airport like FlyTampa Tampa Rebooted, or FlyTampa Midway with REX Essentials at 30fps. I realize that I won't be able to run maxed sliders, and I'm fine with that. What I am looking at now is the i5 2500K, OC'd to 5.0-5.2GHz water cooled, however I'm stuck on the GPU. Does anyone know of a GPU that really makes P3D sing? If so let me know please.…

I normally donot use the flight planner so I don't know what's causing this. When I try to load a saved flight i the fp, there are no pln files listed. Even if I save a plan and then try to load t, it doesnt show i the selection list. The folder is correct and I have full permissions. system is w764. P3d is on it's own drive. UAC is off. If I try to load a FLIGHT rather than a plan, it works fine! Any thoughts? Vic

Hi guys I just reinstalled OrbX NZSI and am wondering if anyone else has noticed this issue. After I takeoff and fly around the scenery a bit I notice that over time I start to get little pauses as I fly around to the point where they last nearly half a second or so. The pauses occur every 5 - 10 seconds and it gets worse as time goes on. I found last time I used this scenery that reducing the number of autogen trees tended to help but I haven't encountered anyone else having this problem and on a system like mine it obviously isn't a great thing to have to reduce autogen in such nice scenery. Anyone have any advice? Have tried in several different planes. Am reluctant to…

Hey all! Had a little bright moment a couple of days ago, finally got around getting Shade to work for P3D. So this would work given that you have the following: - FSX - REX for FSX - Shade for FSX - P3D up and running - and 5 minutes So here are the steps to follow to get this working! - Start by installing the desired sky textures that you want with Rex into fsx. - Then open Shade GUI and select the desired Shadow effect that you would like - Go to the "Set and Forget" tab in Shade and Set and forget it It seem to me that shade inserts shadow values into the sky texture files in fsx, that`s what got me thinking that this might work, looking…

So I bought it I also installed it using the ORBX installer, into P3D >> nothing shows up I then tried toAfter deleting the scenery.cfg entries written by the above, i ran the migrator, and still no show in P3D ???? quite dissapointed, as I prefer P3D allen
