July 29, 201312 yr Commercial Member I think that's more a UTX or REX issue then FTXG, I don't believe FTXG does anything with water textures. Yes, and JV seems to say the same. It's just odd that it was definitely brown before I installed FTXG. Some odd interaction maybe. It's a puzzle. Pete Win10: 22H2 19045.2728 CPU: 9900KS at 5.5GHz Memory: 32Gb at 3800 MHz. July 29, 201312 yr In all those pix I see the water is the same green as I see in England -- the Thames and reservoirs etc all looking like they are covered in algae. I don't like it at all. They should be darker brownish blue. Not found why this has changed -- JV or Orbx says FTXG doesn't change this. Pete Hi Pete - we discussed this over on the GEX/FTXG thread. Just FYI (and my peace of mind), the water in the pix above looks green to me too ! But they're taken much closer to the water.
July 29, 201312 yr If it helps at all, I found my REX textures had been set back to Default (though this was probably due to the recent REX update, actually). I reinstalled my preferred, customized "theme pack" metadata and everything is fine now. You can do quite a bit with adjusting the water colors in REX, not just by selecting the texture sets. July 29, 201312 yr Pete I am thinking REX reconfigure should do the trick as stated above good catch. Rich Sennett
July 30, 201312 yr BTW if this is the thread Ryan was asking about my REX "OD ENHANCEMENT" thing shared on the REX server -- it's up now. Along with some other mixes I put together, testing out a "look" for PNW, my still-favorite region to fly around in.
July 30, 201312 yr I used a tool call "DXTBmp" to open the raw textures in both FTXG and GEX and compared. I found that some landclass textures, like "Large City Suburban Grid Dry" & "Medium City Suburban Grid Dry" (filename: 038b*.bmp), where the GEX textures showing brown and dry land but FTXG textures showing lush green land. I also found landclass name "Medium City Suburban Non Grid Dry" and "Small City Suburban Non Grid Dry" which using files named 048*.bmp, the GEX textures again showing brown and dry land but FTXG textures showing wet green land with many green trees.
