Greeting, First time posting here, I will try to be the most specific possible. I'm trying to interface a servo to my PMDG. Servo is moved by using an arduino but I'm trying to make sense of the variable from PMDG. Using the APU EGT as an example. This is available via offset 648C as an FLT32 number. How do I convert this into something to throw at the servo. I can see this number varying as the APU spools up but what does this huge number represent ? Is there an equation that goes with it ? Paul Heywood

I was recently gifted a PMDG 737NGX, and all I can say is "Wow", the work done to the 737 by PMDG is amazing. I ran through the Tutorials, they are a great help. When i first climbed in the the cockpit, I wanted to click on everything (having come from the FSX default cockpit, where half the switches are for decoration), so might have inadvertenly set some ground crew on fire (and probably had the APU destroyed when I inadvertently tested the fire alarm), but otherwise had no idea what to do (I like starting "dark and cold" so change the panel state to that first-off, but then had to change it back to "default" for the Tutorial). Hi folks, I have just the question you can see above. I would like to assign the two IRS knobs on the aft overhead panel (ALIGN NAV ATT) to my GoFlight hardware (GF-RP48) by key commands, as I did for other payware aircraft. I am wondering, if PMDG offers key commands for this in addition to those provided via the CDU's Menu. And if so, is there a listing of all key commands available? Hi I'm trying to understand how this process is handled in real life: 1. I run before start checklist to the line 2. I start APU and set it on the bus 3. I ask ground crew to disconnect Air Conditioning cart (and GPU offcourse) 4. APU bleed air goes on At this point I would normally run before start checklist below the line and ask for pushback. As I'm using GSX, in cold weather I do get information that due to cold weather engines should be started after pusback is completed and brakes set. Issue: between the time when AC cart is disconnected and engines are on, Cabin gets really cold. Can I avoid this by setting packs to ON when on APU Bleed air and s…

Some days ago, I started to have some weird autopilot behavior. The following is happening: 1) Sometimes, during the takeoff, when clicking on TOGA, the throttle are not advancing to N1. Hi there, So I've been figuring out how to get the plane (NGX 737) from cold and dark to engine start, but after a few steps I already run into a problem. When I want to start the APU the needle(EGT) moves really slow towards 4, and doesn't go any higher or lower and also at that point the "Low oil pressure" light comes on. (Nothing weird about that since that's normal I guess). But the problem is that it won't go out. It only goes out if I turn the APU on and off. So to make it clear, from the point that it reaches the 4 mark the APU gen off buss also goes on and when I click it the APU start (I think I'm not sure, but it sounds like it.) But why doesn't the…

Whilst building an updated airport KORD, I noticed AI aircraft trying to park in silly places. On investigation I realised that the aircraft.cfg files for some of the World of Aircraft models were wrong. Wanting to quantify the degree of error, I decided to write a program to pull out data from each aircraft.cfg and compare them against actual manufacturers data as available from Airport Planning documents published by Airbus, Boeing etc. The results were surprising, not only because of the scale of the errors, but because PMDG seem to have an error in the 900 WL. I only fly the NGX (Dash 8 and RA Duke as well). I only use RW flight plans. Having said that, I own Topcat and wonder if the other features in PFPX are worth having? Fuel predictions with Wx imported from AS16 and so forth. Are the profiles accurate? I can't find that all variants are included now. I'm looking to be able to paste RW flight plans and generate a derated flight with a better level of accuracy.

I am traveling with my MSI laptop. I normally sim with my home PC w/Win 7 64bit. Due to some computer problems I have installed Win 10 and FSX-SE. This has actually worked out pretty good, and I have been simming both the NGX and T7 along with two other aircraft. I also have the full run of REX, terrain and Radar Contact add ons. My other two aircraft both update fine with Navigraph. However, both the NGX and T7 do not. Navigraph indicates it has properly downloaded and installed. For the first time in the NGX I let the aircraft fly the VNAV path to the final approach, and was lined up with the runway about 15 miles out. I selected VORLOC but it never captured the LOC. When the glideslope was nearing passing me I selected APP but it still did not capture the LOC or GS. Is there a trick to getting it to capture the LOC when on the VNAV path that I missed? As an opponent to autolands and someone who hasn't even toyed with them since the original NG, I'm curious about the use of fail versus operational. I've been doing some LIFR and BCAT1 landings for a change of scenery but tonight left me confused. I feel I understand the overall difference between the two; however, fail passive should still autoland. I flew into KIND tonight with 200 foot ceiling and fog with 0.75 mile visibility reported. Of course the runway was black until below 200, and technically I should have gone around, but I wanted to how see how it played out. I'm brand new to this. I recently started learning the 737, just for myself, on a professional sim in Bangkok. I've located a couple of similar places Stateside, but it is an airline trip to get to them. I'm attempting to set up a home system, to keep myself current between simulator hops. My aircraft is pulling to one side during the take off roll. I have tried calibrating the joystick again, but it has not solved the issue. I never had this problem in P3D v2.4, so I am somewhat puzzled... EDIT - Ah, I have just realised that this could be an FSUIPC issue. I will need to investigate. I assume that others have successfully installed FSUIPC 4.946? This is supposed to be compatible with P3D v3, but I am getting a "can't find fsx.exe" error message during the installation :huh: Can anyone help?

Hi! I have asked for help earlier but I still have the same issue. I have a really good PC. Specs: GTX 1060 6gb I7 - 6700k 16gb RAM DDR4 Windows 10 64-bit But unfortunately I experience lag in FSX using PMDG 737 and other add-ons. While playing GTA V I get over 80fps this is the case in other games too, but why is my fsx lagging so much, I only get around 10-20 fps in VC. Using FSX Steam Edition. Any suggestions what it could be? Would be very happy to get help :-).

Hi folks, I have a real frustration with the NGX and the performance towards the latter end of any flight, absolutely noticeable after landing in the turn on taxi in with a consistent stutter every 1-2 secs? I have tried so many different things to improve the performance after landing but to no avail!? Oddly, the NGX performs beautifully at the start of any flight, no stutters and in flight I hold a steady 29-31 FPS. Could anyone shed any light on this please? FMC: I enter Pos...then Company Route, but then all FSX Key Assignments unworkable thereafter---even Shift 3 doesn't close FMC. The Joystick Hat does move view, though. The yoke movement in the vc of 737-8/9 NGX does not turn a max of 90 degrees. It stops at 45 degrees whereas in 6/700 it turn 90 degrees. Is it possible to copy some files from virtual cockpit of 6/700 to 8/900 vc folder to get 6/700 yoke in 8/900 ???

Hello, Is there any known compatibility issues with the newest P3D version (v.3.4.18.19475) of the 737NGX and the latest upgrade of P3D? I have been trying to fly it and I am having problems controlling the aircraft when hand flying and with the autopilot. The aircraft seems to be very unstable and tends to tip over when (if) the autopilot is engaged, it will show "CMD" on the annunciator panel and the aircraft will start to turn over. Within a short time on autopilot, I'm getting "Bank Angle" warnings, even on HDG or LNAV, and the aircraft will tip over and head for the ground. Thank you, Bob

How is the training series now? The NGX is my go to aircraft. I like Boeings, like jets, but don't like 8+ hour EROPS flights. I've loved the Airline2sim training program and the Dash 8 and the 777 looks rather good so far, but there doesn't seem to be anything in the pipeline for a 737. So I've been looking at the AOA stuff. It's been a while since I had paid a lot of attention, but at that time it was taking forever to complete and was just heavily systems with less flying. Has it come along now? Any comments?
