PMDG 737NGX | 737NGXu

  1. hi all! So its really strange. whenever i shutdown the engines everything sounds as it should you can hear them cutting off. then when i cycle through all of the views, suddenly I can hear the engines as if they are running at idle. Note, it only happens in external (ATC Wingviews, spot, etc). It has only happened today, and has happened on 3 different NGX aircraft. Any idea what's going on?? Thanks,Mitch Bowman

    I set the options I wanted via notepad for the Qantas and United liveries and all was working well. Now however it seems that the files are being ignored and I just get the default stuff. It certainly does not give me what is indicated in the ini file.Anyone else having this issue?

    I noticed flaps setting isn't saved in panel states, is this an already known FSX limitation or something?I saved a ready for t/o panel state and when loading it the flap lever is in the correct position but not the flaps themselves nor the flap indicator.

    I'm flying the NGX using the CH Flightsim Yoke (LE). Within FSX, I've programmed/set the left 'rocker' switch (next to the two red buttons) to trim up or trim down. However, when flying the NGX only the 'trim up' button works - the 'trim down' button has no effect/does nothing. Could PMDG have 'programmed' that switch to do something else in this aircraft (over-ruling the FSX settings) which I haven't discovered yet, or could this be a compatability bug?     About ten minutes after departure, Autopilot is turned on and Im following my route. I get a sound which is like a warning sound! There is no indication on the panel or displays that there is something wrong. Weird!?! What am I doing wrong or is this a bug?

  7. Hi, I have two questions regarding the CAB/UTIL switch on the overhead and the logic behind it. 1. When ground power is connected you can see the amperage difference on the AC/DC metering panel when switching the CAB/UTIL switch. In my case it draws 39A extra when the switch is on.However, when I am on APU-power there is no difference at all. The amperage stays on 28A regardless of the switch position. Is this suppose to work like this? 2. Regarding the FCOM, one of the components that are powered via the CAB/UTIL switch are the Logo Lights. However the logo lights stays on even with the switch to off. Again, I'm not sure about this. Maybe they are talking about other kin…

    Is there something different about the keyboard commands with NGX? Reason I ask, is I have the Aerosoft Package 747-400X (PMDG) and when I set up the MCP, Lights and other commands with a key command (shift+ctrl+A for example) I put that command in the SPAD program that allows my Saitek multi panel, switch panel to operate those inputs and they work. However, I put the same setup in NGX and they work on the actual keyboard, but do nothing when I push the button on the panels. For example, the Autotrottle is set already at Shift+F and I set that in my program and that one turns it off, but not on. But if I hit the keyboard Shift+F, it works. I am at a loss for this. …

    Launceston airport in Tasmania (YMLT) is listed as having an ILT, not an ILS. It seems to work in all regards the same. Frequency, glide slope, yada, yada. I can't find any reference to it though. What does ILT mean? Does it differ from ILS, or is it just Australian for ILS? Also, don't try to auto-land using it if you're using the ORBX Launceston airport scenery. Brings you down neatly into some trees just at the runway threshold. Which is bad, it turns out.     Just about run out of paths to investigate. Starting from C & Dark, the Captains altimeter reads lower than FO and Standby. I have checked the options to adjust all together to 29.92 etc., but cannot bring Capt. up to norm on ANY 737NGX. If the baro or radio are set the same the Captns. is still low. I've read what I feel is relevant documentation but I'm stumped. Any pointers would be gratefully taken on board and stored. By the way, the problem increases in leaps and bounds the higher the altitude.

    hello, I have some trouble with logo and landing lights: the 737NGX stands in Hobart, Australia late at night, 3.30 a.m. With Qantaslivery. Now I wake up the plane, Apu, after that engines. After successfully starting I switch on the Logo and Landing lights. But the logo remains dark and the landing lights make only a white cone in front of the plane but there were no lamps, illuminated in the wings. For comparison: if I try this in Germany, Tegel with an AirBerlin everything works fine and if I put a Qantas to Tegel it works fine too! I try the Qantas as second machine, so I have to load everything again before I can put the lights on but it works then. Are there problem…

    I know, this is not a PMDG NGX related question, but I have to try it out for the NGX.Tibet in the Republic of China has the two highest airfields in the world. Bangda airport in eastern Tibet, which lies 15,548 feet above sea level. It relegated Lhasa airport (14,315 feet) in Tibet's capital to second place among the world's highest airports. What are the Airport ID in FSX?? I find airport ID: ZUBD, on the internet, but doesn't find anything in FSX.

    Hi all. We have been noticing quite a few people have problems with slowing down and managing drag. So I made a video which points out 2 things: 1) according to my SOPs an average weighted NG (I am assuming they are referring to the -700 series since the bulk of our fleet is 700), to slow from 250-210 in LEVEL flight with NO use of drag devices, will take 35 seconds and approximately 3 miles. Now take a look at the video. It shows about 48 seconds (remember this is an 800!) and about 3.4 miles. So this is pretty darn accurate! 2) I am doing the ILS approach for runway 24L in Toronto, Canada. You will see the runway centreline on the ND. You will also see it for runway 23 …

  16. i got a fix for those who have problems with FSX. for me, the crash never reappeared. I did the same flight several times (EDDT-EDDF) and it crashed every time, then i reinstalled it in Network mode as Master and use FSX in window mode, then i did the same flight again 3 times and it didnt crash. I dont know if you have to reinstall it or just start ivap in external mode but thats how i did it. It could be related to FSUIPC maybe? Normally, i also had "Enable IVAP<->FSUIPC SDK" or something turned on in ivap settings, i didnt do that on my second installation. This might of course only be a temporary solution, but at least i can fly the NGX now (as i dont like to fl…

    I've had two incidents where I was arriving in Chicago (MDW and ORD both) in the NGX and the traffic would be totally gone in the entire airport. It will not show up unless hit CTRL+SHIFT+R to reload UT2. Is anyone else having issues?Btw, this doesn't happen in any other aircraft.

I would like to ask you a question about engines start up on ground and without using APU system.I start up engine number 1 first successfully but when i'm going to try it with number 2,I don't have enough pressure to do it from external pneumatic or it isn't simulated on fsx.     Hi Guys, I purchased the NGX pretty much as soon as it came out, have had very little issues with it, probably one of a few products which I've purchased and it "actually" works properly. I've recently installed the hot fix, which was available to all of us a few days ago. Suddenly (last 48 hours) the Collins MCP font has "stuffed" up. I've attached an image below, this may or may not be happening to others, which is why I'm posting here. Has anyone else experienced this issue? note: The course will only select from 0-35 (F/O and Captains side) and the heading bug will only select between 0-35. The numerals also seem to be larger.     YOU DO NOT NEED TO DO THIS IF YOU INSTALLED THE 16AUG HOTFIX OR PURCHASED THE FULL INSTALLER ON OR AFTER 16AUG. Vin discovered a bit ago that there was an error when we created the aircraft.cfg files for the hotfix that disabled the dome light in the VC - here's what you need to do to fix it: (Big kudos to user Paul Deemer who independently figured this out on his own tonight as well here - http://forum.avsim.n...-problem-fixed/ ) 800WL: 1. Go to the FSX\SimObjects\Airplanes\PMDG 737-800NGX WL folder and open the aircraft.cfg file in notepad - find the [LIGHTS] section 2. Highlight both the [LIGHTS] and [sMOKESYSTEM] sections completely and paste this data over top of it…

  24. Well,after another CTD had just on final (about 5 nm before touch down), I have just decided to install hotfix3. Hope that something will change, in better... I am very disappointed, because it is not possible to get another CTD on last 5 nm or so after a wonderful flight of more than 2 hours!Bye. P.S.: there is a way to analyze the error report? When FSX crash down nothing appeared and the program restarted.

    I tried to perform to rejected take-off after realising I hadn't set my flaps. I tried to cut the throttle and apply the brakes but TO-GO did not disengage and the autobrakes did not activate.What am I doing wrong and how does this compare to a RW situation?Thanks
