Hello! I am going to start making liveries and was wondering what program would suit me the best. I have Adobe Photoshop Elements 6, but I was thinking of getting PaintShop Pro X3 'cause it's on sale by 60%. Would it be worth it? I would like to hear from you if you make repaints, and if so, what programs(s) you use and how complicated they are for a novice painter... Thanks for our help and best regards, Sam Cordell: )

Hi All I tried my first departure manually following the FD, Vnav was ok to track but LNAV was difficult to follow very twitchy and sometimes did not seems to be tracking the path itself this caused me to overshoot, is it meant to be that difficult as I expected it to very smoothly track the FMC flight path kind of reminded me of the CDI needle sensitivity when close to a VOR, just wondering if others think this is sensitive or not quite right

Hi guys! I'm still fascinated about all the major and minor quirks that are simulated here, but I think this one is not "as real as it gets"... When I switch on the panel lights (the backlighting for switches etc), some components light up at full brightness immediately, some are dimmable. Especially switches always are lit very bright. This curiously does happen with all panels except the overhead panel. The same thing happens with the flood lightling (not dome) of the pedestal. At some "parts" (mostly the flat ones) the light is literally switched on, at others (mostly knobs and other 3D modeled things) the light remains dimmable. I think the technical problem might b…

Just purchased the NGX, and from what I have seen it is great, at least visually. However, I have not been able to complete a flight with it yet. I installed the Continental livery, and am using it. I can get the APU started, and occasionally I can get it off the ground, but invariably the entire instrument paned will end up freezing. It appears that the outside view continues to move, but I will not be able to control the a/c and it will end up crashing. I have tried the shift-1 twice, changing panels, going to the VC, nothing seems to unfreeze the panels. Any ideas? I really want to use this plane, but in this state I'm obviously out of luck. system specs are:ASU…

I would like to indicate the method I am using to enter winds aloft into the FMC. I would appreciate any comments which are either positive or negative, indicate a faster and simpler way to do this or I am doing something incorrect. I can find no climb forecast page and entries can’t be made on the RTE DATA page unless it is waypoint at cruise altitude. So if there are waypoints prior to cruise they must be accounted for on the INIT REF page. I am entering an average of the wind direction and speed for waypoints prior to cruise on the INIT REF page which according to what I read in the manual or on a website affects the climb. However, this propagates on down the line to …

Hi, I've been cruising around with the NGX since release and I love it. I've had no problems at all and as a software developer myself, I can imagine how difficult it was to put this product together - well done! I have service based failures enabled and recently encountered overheating & low pressure warnings for the electric hydraulic pumps. I consulted the QRH and it says the aircraft can operate with only 1 pump. Does this mean engine driven or electric? What are the consequences of both pumps being turned off or inoperative? I can only see a light for Feel Diff Pressure in the flight control annunciators on the overhead when I have one engine started. The light e…

from the intro manual "The airplane cannot fly the localizer properly if the CRS knob is set incorrectly" In FSX world, at least, no need to set the CRS knob correctly (while it's far better to do so for evident reasons) : if the interception angle is consistent, you can select any course you want with the OBS, it will not change anything, the Loc will be intercepted. But what about real life operations ? Would you please 737 r-w pilots confirm or not what is said in the intro manual ?

Well it would seem that I have fixed my issue with a complete reinstall of the PMDG 737 NGX. I also reinstalled .dotnet4.0 framework and Simconnect.msi which strangely enough was hidden away inside my REX folder. I have just done a flight from EGFF to Manchester. I decided that iw ould try ans stress the systems as mucha s possible so first of all took off from Cardiff offline, as I approached BCn I strated up EFB and created a flightplan EGFF/EGCC and connected EFB to the flightsim. No problem my plane was depicted in EFB enroute as it should havebeen. Next stress test whilst flying along was to start Fsinn and connect to VATSIM. This was a little more scary as I had not…

Hi all, I am totally new to the subject of paint kits. I've downloaded the NGX paintkit and my wife is a professional web designer. She has a very powerfull laptop with Photo Shop as one of the tools she uses often. The paintkit files could be handled with ease on her system. I am flying for a tiny virtual airline, Platinum Airways, and of course there is a Platinum livery. We (that is my wife and I, not Platinum) would like to try to make one. The pdf file in the paintkit explains what to change and what not, but not really "how to". Therefor I would like to ask other repainters if any of you would be so kind to send me a painted set of psd-files, if possible with the co…

Hello everybody!! My english si poor but I Think that I finded the problem for the fpsIf you move the mouse inside the VC cockpit, look your Fps!!!! During 3 seconds they slow down and when you don't move you're mouse after 3 seconds the Fps is going to be faster!! It will be good if somebody could resolve this little problem because without the mouse inside the VC cockpit, the frame rates are so good :D Best Regards Cooky

Helooo. I made a simple image represents key command setting of my NGX.This is the first one for print but not well arranged so made another one. (I notified that I already memorized this.. just before printing.. ) Most used keys are Shift-related. Shift+F5 ~ F12, Shift+X and C.Some shortcuts handling lights are good for busy landing or even for familiar airport. In flight most commands are done by mouse.. (I use Ctrl keys to prevent fps drop by mouse lag, duh..) Well, both images are made for just fun and I wanna know how other people set their keys..

I spent 30 minutes or so setting up my NGX got all excited called for atc clearance and they told me to climb and maintain 0 feet! not to mention I had to wait 20+ minutes cause the A.I. traffic kept coming in for landings and ever other plane had to go around...I mean that was jut 40%! I would never get clearance if I set it to 100%. This has never happened to me is this related to NGX or the fact that I put on 40% Airliner AI on..? My flight plan (.pln from simroutes) was set to 19000 feet in FSX and the .rte programmed in the CDU was the same obviously. Anyway I ignored them ATC A holes LOL. One more thing, what's the easiest way to calculate how much fuel I should loa…
