The stall warning test won´t make any sound until... entering in FMC hte IRS position (however the IRS system is not necesary stay aligned). is this behavior the according Boeing´s design?

Another post, but for someone who is used to steam workings of the J41 the 737 is a big step forward, getting used to it quite quickly though. I have a question regarding the Short Field Package. Namely, how does one use it? This may be an inane and silly question, but I would hugely appreciate some guidance. Also, are there any visual indicators (inside or out) as to whether it is "installed" on the aircraft? Thanks again Raffaele

I have noticed the following twice during the long taxi after landing at EHAM in the tutorial: somewhere during the taxi the PFD and the ND in the 3D cockpit both stop changing, although the popped-out 2D versions are still being updated. The problem can be easily fixed by changing to another view, and then going back to the 3D cockpit. It may have been stimulated by pausing the simulator during the taxi to open the Navigraph taxi chart, but I cannot reproduce this consistently.

I have noticed that. just after having started both engines, whenever i select both generator switches on the overhead panel so to take power from the engines instead of from the APU i will suffer from a little freeze followed by approx. a 30 second period of significant loss of FPS. This only happens when i swith both on at the same time. When I do this one-by-one (in other words: after the first engine has finished starting and is stable i apply the gen switch for THAT engine and THEN continue with starting the 2nd engine, wait for that to stabilize and THEN turn on the generator switch for THAT engine) all is OK. anyone recognizes this?

I sometimes forget the time arround me. With all this possibilities to programm and searching for data it took a long time to start a flight. Is it correct, that the max GTOW of 737-800 is 173000 lbs,the ZFW=136000 lbs and the possiblefuelload=46063,I always give reserve of 22.0 and costindex with 1,the v1=143,vr=145 andv2=151 mph? Or does it depend of the GTOW? Didn´t find it out correctely and so it is diffult for me to fly this bird accurate and end an flight. Perhaps someone can give me the correct data to have more fun with flying my desk. It seems that PMDG737NGX is very sensible in correct programming. A bit too realistic for me.

Hi, I recently got the 737 NGX and it is a superlative piece of design, quite how PMDG managed to make it so FPS friendly whilst at the same time being so complicated is beyond me, amazing work :)However I need some help as regards flight planning, as you can imagine going into the FSX map and manually planning the route is very tedious, so could you recommend several IFR flight planners that work with the NGX FMC? Or even ones that simply give the route/SIDS/STARS that need to be flown, so that I can manually input the data into the computer. Thanks Raffaele

When I'm set up on approach I like to land manually. But I find that when I disconnect the A/T and then touch the throttle slider on my joystick it takes a while to get the right power setting, by which time I've destabilised my approach. What's the best way to get a seamless transfer from the aircraft holding the speed with A/T and going to the manual throttle on the joystick? It's not just the NGX of course, but that's all I'm flying these days and I love it. At present I'm going manual at 2,000 ft or so, to give me time to get settled, but I'd like to be able to disconnect the AP and A/T at minimums sometimes. Is there a 'right place' to put the throttle slider afte…

Greetings all, Yesterday I was flying KMCI-KORD. I was cruising at FL330, on the BENKY1 arrival. Per the chart, the BDF VOR says to "expect to cross at FL240", and BENKY says to "expect to cross at 11000". Approx 40 miles from BDF, the controller told me to descent via the arrival. I changed the BDF and BENKY legs from soft altitudes to hard altitudes (the fonts changed from small to big). Also changed the MCP altitude to 11000, and VNAV was engaged. However, I noticed that the T/D point was after BDF, and the plane didnt descend to meet the BDF crossing restriction (I had to use V/S). Unfortunately I didnt take a screen shots. Any ideas what might have happened?

Hello, In the IVAO forum already a lot of Pilots complain that when using NGX for a online flight IVAO connection chrashes???Even one statement that they preformed the same flight with another AC nothing happens and when they used NGX the chrash again happend. Even two friends eperienced the same problem and did the same flight one with NGX and the other another aircraft. The NGX online chrashed and the other aircraft not. Pleas keep in mind that I wanna say nothing bad about the PMDG I love the bird and fly every day with it but experience the same problem, 4 to 5 times during a online flight. Any commemt on this or solution. Dutchy 1949KLM949The Netherlands

  12. I would like to get more orange shade in the VC, the panel's lighting, because I think it is too white, not as orange shade as in the real NG. Can anybody help?

I thought you normally switch the position light ON as one of the first steps when entering the flightdeck to indicate to ground personell etc that the a/c is not empty but when looking in the docs reading the normal procedures section switching the position light comes pretty late and after lots of other stuff. What is the real deal here, when do you normally switch the position light ON IRL? TIA,

I was just curious as to whether or not when you choose to have one battery instead of two in the FMC options, shouldn't the DC Meters selector change to not have the AUX BAT position. I noticed on the PMDG 737, regardless of what battery option you choose, the meters panel is always in a dual battery arrangement. Best Regards,Robert

Today I got the message 'Desc path not achievable' on the CDU. I was doing a DME Arc approach to Monastir ( DTMB ) and during the last 30 miles I got the above message. The calculated speed was 240 knots. To my surprise the V/S was just -800.Surely with higher V/S this would not have been a problem.I tried with Speedbrakes on, but then the throttles came up .... Of coarse I can use V/S instead of VNAV, but normally this should have been possible. Where did I go wrong ?

Read here somewhere about someone running two video-cards at the same time, and got highly improved FPS.I did not know this was possible, but now since I am not so happy with my FPS performance, perhaps I should try.I have an older ATI card lying around here, 512mb or so. Anyone know if it is possible to install this, and use ittogethet with my newer ATI card, and improve my FSX and NGX experience? :) Geir

Hi! I read in the introduction document attached to the NGX that there will be an feature pack including some extra functionality such as an advanced pushback function etc. My question is... will this feature pack be free or do you have to pay extra for theese functionalities? /Niklas Eriksson

PMDG Team, Just a suggestion here... The single NGX forum has become fragmented with topics that could be placed into sections which would make finding the type of information someone would like to read about a lot easier to find. I'm not talking about searching for a particular issue, but visiting the forums to cruise through the topics to see what's goiung on and what users are experiencing or sharing. May I suggest the following: -Aircraft Operations-Users Technical Issues (Users helping users)-Screen Shots-LIveries-Suggestions-Product Feedback Anyway, this might make reading the forums a little easier and less time consuming. Hope everyone is doing well. Dave Hodge…

Im not really sure if this is a problem or not but it seems a bit strange to me.When i today was flying from ESSA-LGKO with a ZFW at about 61 tons.My max altitude was about FL360, so i entered my cruise alt at FL360 , and entered step to FL380. And it displayed step at 1414z and 818 nm or something like that(the figures are not 100% correct since i dont remember the exact values). But it seemed about accurate. But as soon as i reached my crz level the max altitude was still about FL360, maybe 364 or something like that, but the STEP AT changed from about 800 nm to NOW...This has happened every time i have tried to use Step climb, this doesnt seem accurate?! /Niklas Eriksso…

I noticed the descent path in the NGX was quite rapid. I was enroute from KSEA to KGEG a very short flight (40 minutes) and I did not go above FL270. The descent started at about 115-120nm out and at first it went into 3000-4000vs for the first 10 minutes and I ended up at 4500FT about 25 miles from the airport! please tell me this isnt normal. Is it possible the FMC was programmed incorrectly, like the Cost index or something? why did this happen?

I manage to reproduce on my rig a freeze 100% of the times doing this: (1) set your plane for example at EGLL (I have the basic FSX airport scenery) yet any airport would work(2) in the FMS origin = EGLL, destination = EGLL(3) input only one waypoint in the RTE for example BUNOP and activate the route(4) go to LEGS page click on BUNOP to bring it on the scratchpad and click again on BUNOP to replace it: the EXEC should light and you should see a INTC CRS of roughly 291 (button right of screen)(5) type 250 and replace the INTC CRS with that new course, press on EXEC button and kaboum I get the famous freeze: controls are frozen and part of the panel works.
