After having installed the NGX, my sim frequently crashes or even wont start. Culprit: virtualfx.dll.After a complete uninstall, the error is gone. Anyone the same problem? Win7, 2600K, FSX plus Acc pack, UT Terrain, REX2 and some Aerosoft Addons.

Had the odd experience the other day, standing at the gate ENGM, tuning out both VOR's and suddenly I was able topan around much more softly. Tuned them back in, so the radials show up on the ND, and suddenly my FPSwas 8-12 lower.. and paning around was much more jugged (from 15-16fps to about 7-8). I have now tested this anumber of times, both on ground and in the air, and it seems each time I tune out the VOR's so the radial disappearfrom the ND my FPS goes up noticeably (In map mode!). Anyone else has tried this out? PMDG, any comment..? Now, flying more or less without VOR as I use the ND in map mode, I have a much more smooth flightthroughout, and only tune the VOR's…

Greetings all, I've been having an off and on issue the past few times I've loaded the NGX. After choosing the plane/airport, etc from the FSX free flight menu, the plane loads up, appearing normal. The initialization countdown line appears, and after that the panels (and most of the plane) seems to disappear. The view also changes to looking up at the sky. When I try to reload the plane I get a fatal error and FSX reboots. Almost always, after this reboot, the plane loads with no further problems. This problem doesnt happen everytime, maybe half the time. Here's a copy of my .cfg file. (and I seem to have 2 identical .cfg files....is that supposed to be correct?) As you…

Greetings from England. I thought I would start a thread with my experiences with the NGX. I am fairly computer literate but do not have a lot of time to devote to flight simming. I have previously bought the MD11 and the J41 but never really got to grips with them due to lack of time. I havennt learnt my lesson as I have been enthralled with the reviews and comments on the NGX. I also understand the NGX can be flown almost straight out of the box so to speak. I decided then to purchase it, I can fly and learn as I go along (hopefully). First thing was to my PMDG account to purchase, whoops, I had forgotten my paccount password. No problem as PMDG quickly emailed me it. …

Good evening, Just a little question. You can change between a single class or a two class configuration. In two class 162 passengers and in single class 174 passenger. However, there are a few airlines, as example Transavia, that uses a single class 186 passengers. Is there a way to fly with the 186 passengers configuration? If not, maybe add it for the next update? :) Thanks, Jonne van Schaik

Hi all, Is there a way to change the color of the "exec" light on the 737NGX? I hope that, over time, I'll learn when to push it, but right now, there's not enough contrast between the background and the light. I'd *really* like to have a high-contrast color like yellow or green for the CDU displays, but I realize we're going for strict authenticity here. I strongly doubt the FAA would be letting me drive a 737 any time soon anyway. On the other hand, Vic did a stunning job on the VC. If I zoom in enough, everything is readable. What a difference! Thanks, dan 'lensman' davison

Does anyone know if the 700C/C-40 cargo variant will be part of the military NGX package? With the PMDG 747 and MD-11 I enjoyed the freighter variants more than the pax versions. Seems to me a 700C is a good replacement for the old 727Fs for a lot of freight haulers

I tried loading a saved flight yesterday, and every time without fail, CTD, will try again today but don't think I'll be able to. Or am I the only flight simmer who saves flights? The event log linked the CTD to a 737 .dll, can't remember which one, but I did post it in an earlier post someplace. Patrick Boynton

Don't have the plane yet, so I ask the community; I'm more than interested in the performance based navigation capabilities of the new NGX, looks like the NGX is the one and only plane ever for any version of FS that can do "real" PBN procedures: How is the RPN usability, do you use it frequently, does Navigraph navdata contain correct procedures, can you create your own, if so is this documented?

Hi, One noticeable difference between the 737NGX and the 747X/8 & MD-11 is that there were *many* more cockpit tooltips in the latter a/c. I do have the checkbox checked for cockpit tooltips. I use them a lot due to low vision. Is this a limitation of FSX, or were they just not included in the 737NGX? thanks, dan 'lensman' davison

Well I think I've had my first maintenance problem. After I pused back from the gate at KTPA yesterday, I started the engines and completed my after start flows and checklist. Then I pused up the power a wee bit to get rolling but the number one engine would not respond to throttle inputs. I tried turning the EEC off then back on. No go. So I shut the engine down and restarted. No go. I thought maybe it was a stuck starter valve but the light was out. The bleeds and gens and hyd's were all set correctly. I checked the failure generator system in the FMC but there weren't any to clear. So I taxied back to the gate shut her down and called it a day. Any ideas wha…

Sorry it took so long, been busy with other things. Based on the Poll Data it appears that the Majority fly on VATSIM, Prefer Europe, and to fly on Sunday. Considering that people live all over the world it is hard to set a good time for everyone. Choosing a Departure and Arrival Airport would be even harder. So I am just going to go ahead and setup up with the information below. If you can make it great, if you don't like the selction sorry I can't please everyone. This will be an all day deal, giving as many people as possible the ability to participate. The Departure Airport is up to you, fly in from whever you want. I picked 2 Medium sized Airports Dublin (EIDW) and…

Just a quick one on a mod I carried out on my Saitek yoke while I had it apart to clean the pots. Inside the main box you will see a spring about 30mm long which is one of two which centre the pitch axis (can be identified by moving the yoke in pitch, the other spring is obscured by the internal workings so it’s hard to see). If you remove this spring it halves the resistance around the centre thus making the yoke more realistic and easier to use (especially for fine control inputs). I personally find it a 100% improvement when flying the NGX. If you need help in doing this mod do a search on the web as there are a few pages floating around on this subject. WarningCarry o…

Just wondered if anyone had purchased this for the iPhone/iPad? http://www.fs2crew.com/cart/products/Flight-Crew-Assistant-737-Edition-for-iPhone-%26-iPod.htmlLooks quite useful, however I'd rather not waste £10 on it if it turns out to be a bit naff! Has anyone got it? No reviews on the iTunes store as yet...

Hi folks, Although I globally changed the Transistion Altitude to 5000ft via the PMDG Options in the CDU, it always defaults to 17000ft when setting up a new flight. I know this has been reported before, and of course it's not a real problem to change this to 5000 each time. However, when descending, I still get the prompt to change my altimeter setting from STD to local QNH when I pass 17000ft, even though 5000 is set for the current flight. The "STD" in the PFD turns yellow within a box, as soon as I descend through 17000ft. And this is a bit annoying. (At the moment, I can't remember if it's the same in climb.) I'm using the 800WL variant with Air Berlin livery. Anyone…

Back when the NGX was first released there were a lot of people asking where all the checklists were. I haven't seen it so much now. Regardless, in spite of this, I went about indexing the checklists and useful tables within the FCOM1. I feel it is pretty comprehensive, but there are still many more references that could be made. Also, I only included the 738 inflight data because that is the most popular model. I might later get on to the others. I would welcome any additional information or suggestions to make this better. Comments as well.
