PMDG 737NGX | 737NGXu

  1. Last time I started my 738 NGX the background lighting was not functioning and the sounds of the trim, last 1000FT to designated altitude whistle, and TCAS sounds were all gone. I was running the following addons: REX2.0FS altitude europeAmsterdam XFS passengersUT2Skyblue radio Is someone else experiencing the same problems or maybe give some advise? Thanks in advance, Maarten Schot

Looks like the 737NGX is the first and only plane for FS ever that can do "real" RNP maneuvers. I don't own the aircraft yet, so I ask here: What about the practical use of the RNP capabilities of the NGX in terms of available navdata and day-to-day usage in the virtual FS world? Is it possible to define my own RNP routes in the navdata files, i.e. does a notation for them exist?

Hi guys, Has anyone worked out how to create the approach into ZQN that can be inserted into the FMC for the NGX? (I'm referring to the VOR/DME Approaches and not the RNAV Procedures). Ashley Frew.

I had planned on installing the latest hotfix today, but I noticed that the link to it that had been pinned at the top of this forum was no longer there. Does anyone know what happened to the download link? Thanks,Gary Merka

Hi Is it possibe to add the RNAV approaches into NZQN to the NGX? the NGX includes the sids out of the airport and they work perfectly( do a circle in the basen until your high enough to climb out above moutains) but it didn't include any approaches, There is a file to add these to the FS9 NG but someone tested it and it didn't work. 6. Hi guys I'm raising it here before I raise a ticket in case someone's resolved this. O/S: Win 7 64 bit, Core2Duo E6600hardware: Ch pro yoke, multi throttle and rudderother software running with FSX: REX, VAFS (not always), FSINN (not always), registered FSUIPC but not used for mapping Issue:On starting FSX, I load up the default cessna, then I jump into the PMDG 737 NGX. However, the left throttle will NOT move. I can do everything, including starting the engines, etc. N1 goes up to approx 20.5% and stays. I can move the right throttle. Sometimes the left throttle WILL move, however the engine doesn't inc or dec - it just stays at 20.5%. Current fix:I have to load up the …

Hello,I've got a little issue with the dome light. When I turn it on, it doesn't shine inside the cockpit, but shines on the nose, outside the aircraft.I kept seeing a light on the nose of the airplane and wondering "what for?", because I never new there was a light out there. All the time I didn't have a dome light in the cockpit. I finally put it together and realized that my dome light is shining just outside the windshield, on the top of the nose. Can someone help me get my dome light inside my cockpit? It must be a wrong setting in my .cfg file.I have the last Aug16 HotFix installed. Thank you,Bob

Does anybody have the same issue? If i let the FMC enter the takeoff weight there is no problem, but when i want to enter the weight manual, FSX crashes?

Hey guys. Have had the NGX 737 since it came out and I love it! One thing that (I'm sure is a simple thing) I can't figure out is the different panels for the planes. I usually fly the 737-800 winglet and sometimes I get a certain panel and sometimes I get one without the HUD, different LCD design, etc. Am I hitting something maybe? Is this user created? Thanks for your help. :)

Hi, I'm getting generally quite good performance from the NGX (I'm running and I7 930 O/C to 3.8GHZ). How ever as soon as I hit the Go-Around switch on an approach my frame rates drop dramatically. Just wondered what the reason for this is and if it's being looked at by the experts. David

A difficult airplane to fly. I'm at about a confidence level of about 50%... 40% confident I can fly it using automation from shortly after t/o to touchdown... and the remainder is my manual flying confidence level. Such a steep learning curve; it handles completely differently in all aspects compared to the 747 and 767. Looking for criticism on my manual landing. I was waay off the centreline on this. But hey, it earned me 50 points on FS Passengers for the smoothness. I was also able to drop on the TDZ. Hopefully the CAA don't come looking for my Keyboard/joystick license; because I don't have one. http://www.youtube.c...h?v=2l3bPpkPbow All my settings were low/off bec…

I've flown the NGX since it's been released without any issues. Today, I experienced the first panel freeze. The VC was still active, but the panels and AP were frozen, and the aircraft was not allowing any control input. It was just stuck in a straight line heading toward the ground. The only thing I did different today than all the many flights I have taken is adjust the FMC to a new runway when on approach. I don't know if it had anything to do with it, but so far, I haven't had any problems with the NGX. I know many people have written about this, but I'm just noting what I did in case it helps solve it for PMDG. Thanks, John NGX v1.0 (no hot fixes)Win7 64 Ultim…

I'm stuck using the paint kit for the B738 in our VA livery. Since the paint kit is for both 800 and 900 models, what's the trick to make a curve drown across the three fuselage sections be properly aligned in the final product? See red design in the attached pic. Problem is mainly with the curve at the rear section. I did search, but couldn't find the answer. Apologize in advance to the search police if I missed it. Hi Everyone: Can someone please remind me what the little white numbers next to the diamonds mean when I see the traffic represented on my PFD? Sometimes it says -14, -20, or +4 for example... I think I rememebr it has something to do with their respective altitude in relationship to where I am or soemthing like that? Thanks, Chris Catalano

  20. Usually when my Bios does not like my overclock settings it just does a soft reset which means I just have to change the Clock Frequency, Memory, Voltage etc. However tonight the computer did not like one of my settings and not only did the NGX freeze up but my whole computer. Had to use the power off switch to reboot. Anyway this time it did a complete reset of my bios back to factory settings. So I had to go in there and re-enter all my settings for everything. Booted up computer, got Windows message saying it could not get updates anymore. Said hell with that for now and reloaded my saved flight. When FSX loaded it wanted my activation key. Entered in Key then it kept …

Hey guys, I know it's a bit of a unique issue but it surfaced after I installed the NGX. If it's an NGX related problem, awesome, if not, even better. I seem to have an issue at the back of my cockpit at night (no, not that type of issue :( ), where the circuit breaker panel is "hollow". Any idea what might cause this? Thanks! P.S., it also causes some weird things and models to be hollowed out in scenery...

I thought I knew all this and I have had it working previously! This is from a tutorial someone kindly put together a little while back for Cold and Dark startups "1. Switch both rotary selectors first to OFF then to NAV. When the IRS's have finished aligning the white ALIGN lights will begin flashing and you will have a FMC message saying "Enter IRS position". - Log on to the FMC on the CDU. This will get you to the IDENT page. On the lower right corner on the screen you will have "POS INIT" press the key next to it.2. Now you are on the POS INIT page. -Press CLR on the CDU a couple of times if you have any messages like "Enter IRS Position" and "Dual FMC restored" -E…

Bonjour, When reading the description for the 3 cockpit posters this comes up; "Posters measure 36" wide (91.4cm) and varying lengths. Suitable for framing, poster may also be ordered with lamination.NOTE: Images shown here are of a comparable product. Images will be updated shortly." Can anyone confirm that the pictures are infact those that will arrive if purchased? And i would greatly like to know the dimensions of all three posters separately as well! All the best, James Andrews

A question re: FUEL on the PROG page. Initially total fuel load is 42,211 lbs., on the PROG page #1 FUEL column shows 27.5 lbs. at destination (KJFK). I then change the fuel load to 30,000 lbs. but the fuel at destination remains at 27.5 lbs. Isn't the fuel qty at the destination point supposed to be recomputed at this point ? Asking this question in the context of using the FMC for fuel planning (prior posts). Thanks,Zach

  25. Started by clkuehn,

Hi all, last night (it was late) I noticed, that you can start your engines with all fuel pumps off and even the low pressure lights on. I wonder if this is supposed to happen. Just loaded the plane with "short" panel state, selected 1/3 fuel and started the engines. The switches were in off position, engaging them turned off the low pressure light and started the respective sound (or shall I say noise?), so I think they are working correctly. Do the engines get fuel without the pumps on? Thanks in advance. Cheers Clemens Kuehn
