I've notcied when spotting a/c out at ESSA that most a/c wait to switch the landing lights ON until they are on rather short final and get the cleared to land from the tower, yet I've heard many times that you should have your landing lights ON when below 10000 feet. Is that only a recommendation where IRL most airlines have their own policies when to switch the landing lights ON and OFF? I have the same question for the rwy turnoff lights, when are they normally switched ON/OFF? Then a question about the APU bleed air, after landing at an airport and vacating the rwy I understood that it's common you start the APU so you have it up and running before you get to the gate …

I have been having this come up on the FMC allot lately. The FMC should calculate the time needed to decelerate and stay on path throughout the vertical path. I never started getting this until the hotfix by the way. The only way for me to get back on the vertical path is to adjust the vertical speed and catch back on manually.

Hi, When i fly the 738WL using PMDG house colors, i get no panel freeze but if i use one of the PMDG repaints i get a panel freeze. What is wrong with the repaints.Should i download and reinstall the repaints again. Have they been updated since the aircraft was released? Thanks and regards.

have two questions on the nx version which hopefully can be resolved with technical advice: I noticed on the pdf instrument, that there is no mileage indicated for the various Nav settings? where are these distances to nav to be found. ATIS frequency: the radio 2 although set on Atis frequency do not receive the transmissions. I found that inserting the atis frequency into the left side radio (captains side) brings up the predicted weather but not the right hand side: ADF: can this only be operated on the left side? no right hand setting. hopefully these questions are clear. incidentally, I have "perused" the manuals but did not find a detailed description of the radio…

So I was flying in europe, when I had the following scenario: Wind 273/30 I had heading select on 323 and the plane went with heading 330. Isn´t the plane supposed to correct against the wind, not with it??

Hello, i keep entering the three instuctions ie Highmemfix=1 ect, ect , into my FSX.cfg that is in the hidden files section i click file and save it all goes well but after a few days it reverts back to what it was before? i have admin rights and have changed things in other aircraft and they stay there? can you please helpmany thanksjames

Although I choose 'chocks' via the CDU no chocks are visible. First they were; before I installed the KLM and Transavia liveries.But the chocks are gone, even if I choose the House livery. Any suggestions?Thanks,Paul

Hi all!I've got a small problem with the NGX about texture.First, I'm running on a i7 2600 @ 3.40 ghz 4 Gb Ram DDR3 1600, nVidia GTS 450 with 1 Gb Ram (my monitor res is 1440x900). OS Windows 7 64 Bit, everything is ok FPS are very good (25-40 in ext view and 20-30 in VC) but the problem are the liveries: it seems like the AA filter isn't activated!I post some screen with Air Algerie livery: You see the red line? I don't know how to solve it! Please help, I think I've just become NGX dependent! Thanks for help Francesco

Finally I had the chance to do some serious flying in the NGX and after reading about all problems people had the last weeks with CTDs and panel freezes I was a bit worried how things would be for me when starting flying and what I've found is this. Thought I woud let you all know since it might help someone that do get these problems. First of all I discovered that using any d3d9.dll files 9 out of 10 times semms to generate a fatal error when exiting out of FSX after a flight. This goes both for the ENB series d3d9.dll file and also the same file that comes with the Antilag external framerate limiter. Too bad since I really like both these extra addons and truely miss f…

Where can i find the preflight checks in those massive manuals to taxi. I am getting an Air Condition warning when passing 10,000 feet. i am just following some tutorials out there waiting for AOA to start their flight sections.

hey,I was flying with the 737ngx in a route inside Europe. I did a save during the flight,and when i loaded the flight a couple hours later, it continued the flight from the spot i saved it,but erased completly every data from the FMC and the MCP !It happend only in the 737NGX...Anyone knows why is that?THANKS!

I thought one of the three options in CDU / PMDG setup / AIRCRAFT / AT override, would disengage my throttle quad as soon as TOGA is engaged. But all three options seem to have the same effect, as soon as i move my yoke throttle the thrust setting immediately goes to that position. When i stop moving them thrust returns to A/T thrust. Did i miss something. I had 2 take offs so far with a little spike at 40% N1 on a lever, so only one engine would spool up to take/off thrust.

Starting up variants wiith and without winglets, I've noticed that a switch to cold and dark correctly produces a totally silent cockpit. But then, if I toggle to Outside view and return to the cockpit, the sound of idling engine? or whirring giros? kicks in and stays. Not a disaster, of course, but may be helpful to have shared ... Yes, I've extended (on ground) the speedbrakes, and advancing the lever caused the speedbrakes to retract, ok, I was thinking that actuator war already armed from a previous flight, I extended them again, and one more time they retracted when thrust levers are applied.The actuator will only work in one direction for each action.It will extend if in landing or RTO mode, will retract if advancing throttles, BUT it is not able to retract 2 consecutive times without firstly extend (and will do only on landing and RTO). Is there a way to get it exact on the NGX? Every time I trim it up or down it skips a few numbers.
