Fellow pilots,I enjoy (like some others) to calculate fuel and performance numbers manually. However i got annoyed by the fact that i don't know how to do this 100% correctly. Is there any real 737 pilot or someone that has the correct method to calculate all this?I'm not just talking about trip fuel but also more complex things like driftdown performance when flying above, lets say, the Alps. Would someone be kind enough to post a full flight calculation starting from limiting weight to fuel calculation to assumed take off temperature etc.? I'm sure a lot of simmers could use this :) Thanks in advance Frahi Jaat

It's really winding me up, almost every flight I do I manage to encounter either a panel freeze, or a CTD related to either ntdll.dll or DSOUND.dllI searched both around this forum and I have found absolutely nothing appart from knowing that DSOUND.dll is related to DirextX.. Any solutions here?

This question is not necessarily specific to the NGX...... I typically use FSBuild or Fltplan.com to plan flights and I fly almost exclusively in the continental US. The approach to many US airports (MCO, DFW, ATL etc...) have variations such as crossing restrictions, speed, etc. depending on which runway you are landing on (e.g. north vs. south landing). My experience with FSX is that I typically pick up the ATIS anywhere from 60-80 miles from the airport. This distance is way too close to program the correct approach procedure into the FMC. Many times I end up with the message "DESCENT PATH UNABLE" because I am way too high for the approach once I enter the runway i…

Hi. No matter how soft I land and I have landed other payware without a problem the sensitivity of this aircraft is I think for some reason is to much. I land @ 300- 400fps with a flair and when the landing gear touches no matter when,it crashes the aircraft. is there a setting for this . I looked at it outside and the landing set up looks great.but when the wheels touch . crash

On the last two occasions I had a freeze I was doing exactly the same thing. This is the first time I have been able to repeat it. I had selected a saved flight and re-loaded it. This was a flight where I forgot to save the panel state, I only saved through FSX. When it loaded all was fine except that the FMS was not controlling things; it had the route in but for some reason it was not activated. I did that and it asked me to identify which was the active leg, which I did. Then came the point at which the freeze occurred. VNAV had disconnected and I soon realised why, there was no entry on the CRZ page for the cruise level. I entered the FL and the EXEC button lit up. As…

Dear All, I have a stange experience. When I land at an airport and taxi to my gate I experience huge frame rate decrease. Today I had a flight from Franfurt to Heathrow and when I arrived to Heathrow I had only 17-20fps in VC mode. The strange thing is that when I reloaded my B737NGX to the same gate, same time, same weather where I had 17-20 fps, after reload I got 26-30fps. I had another flight from Heathrow to Paris (LFPG). When I took off from Heathrow I had 26-30fps, but when I landed at Paris and taxi to my gate I had again a frame rate drop to 17-20fps. Again I reloaded my aircraft to the same gate, time and weather and I had again 26-30fps. It looks as my compute…

Hi Guys I downloaded the 737ngx on Thursday and everything was fine. Because FSUPIC was autosaving my flights I ended up with a massive log of entries when it came to loading panel states... I have since disabled this features and delted all panel states beginning with 'Autosave_x' in the PMDG/737NGX/PanelState folder. I am now left with: CLDDRKSHORTLONGThis is fine, but for Short/Long the engines do not appear to be running. I am sure when I first downloaded the aircaft that there was a panel state where everything was setup including engines and the aircraft was ready for taxi (Apart from FMC route entry of course). I am wondering if this has been accidentally deleted? …

I was only wondering why not make a standard fuel planner for NGX. It has only the options percentages of the fuel to be used or the quantity, that, in most of the cases, we guess that will be fine for the flight. Would be very nice to have a fuel planner for the planes, nothing complex, just to be there and help us to have a better and more realistic flight. P.S.: What a nice job you did with this bird! Waiting anxiously for the expansion packs!!

Guys;My panel freezes are gone, it's been almost two weeks. I'll tell you what I did. It is not a "magic formula", but it may help someone. My PC is not one of the best. It is a simple i5 @ 750 2.67 GHz, 4GB RAM and a nVidia video card 1Mb 450 GTS, 300GB HD. Simple as that.I had the HD partitioned into 64bit W7 (170 GB) and 32bit XP (130GB). The FSX was installed on XP, because I was having lots and lots of CTD in W7.With the release of NGX I've had several panel freezes and problems of texture in the vertical stabilizer and engines. And always the message when close the FSX: "the memory could not be written at....." Then, exchanging ideas with the guys here of the forum (…

So Today I was flying VIDP - ZMUB via DCT N451F370 DPN L626 HW 32N081E/K0829S1130 QIM NUKTI OWOOT/K0832S1210 B10 KATBA B480A UDA DCT At the step climb to Metric, I opened the "MTRS" in the PFD, selected 37100 on the MCP, Selected CRZ on the captains CDU and then typed in 37100 and selected this as the new cruise altitude and hit exec. The aircraft began to climb the 100ft to the new altitude. As it reached 37100 the PFD showed that the aircraft had captured the altitude, and suddenly it was frozen. The PFD showed FL371 with about 300ft per min climb rate. but the autopilot had started to pitch down to capture altitude. It continued to pitch down, and down, and more down. …

Hi guys! I just flew a few times with the GOL livery (SFP installed) - of course I tried SBRJ :-) - and now I'm wondering whether the FCOM has exact information on the 737-800 SFP performance. There are all the tables that I need for calculation but they seem to refer only to the "standard" 737-800. Are there any hints how to calculate the different weight limits? All I found was some generic information (for example from the post of Jane Rachel or google). Is there something that I just dind't see? Especially at short runways I'd like to be able to calculate whether my aircraft is too heavy or not. At the moment I'm using the standard limitations of the 737-800 at an ima…

Hi, guysSearching the forums, its seems that some people are having problems with the mouse buttons not working in the NGX. My installation was working fine until a couple of days ago. Everything was good I until went in to an external view, then back into the virtual cockpit. I couldnt click on anything - nothing worked, even the mouse wheel. Applications outside of FSX were working fine, no problems - just within FSX in the NGX. I use FSX in maximised windowed mode - I even noticed that the red cross (exit) at the top of the window didnt even work. The only way of quitting FSX is via the Task Manager. If i reload the flight (FSUIPC automatically saves every 90 seconds),…

(Apologies for double posting - went in wrong forum the first time) Here is a more advanced example of how to use the NGX' flight management computer to fly SIDs and STARs, and how to transition between the different phases of flight. It takes you from Innsbruck to Moscow, and along the way you have to deal with metric flight levels and altitudes based on QFE. This worked example is in pdf format and can be downloaded from this location. I hope you enjoy it! Feedback is always welcome

Hey guys, I hope someone can help me out here. I fly with Radar Contact 4, which requires you to load your flight, go into windowed form to start RC4, then go back into fullscreen for flight. My problem is that everytime I go back to fullscreen, I get a black screen or like a screenshot I am about to post. It's extremely frustrating as it's never occured before the NGX and now it's screwed up all of FSX. I really don't know what to do. *Please what for the screenshot, posting picutres is new to me.**EDIT: If someone could actually tell me how to upload a photo, that would be great too ;) Thanks for everyone's help in advance.

Today I had my first failure in 737NGX. I was parked at gate and just before the pushback I turned on electric hydraulic pumps A and B. The low pressure light didn't go away and also both overheat lights on A and B showed up. Hydraulic pressure was 20 psi instead of the normal 3000 psi. I turned off the pumps and waited for some time in case the temperature may drop and lights can go away but no joy. Meantime I examined the qrh (section 13.2) but i couldn't find info about when both lights are lit.So I cancelled the flight. Afterwards I restarted my flight from cold and dark cockpit (not from a saved file this time) and voila, hydraulics are working again as good as new.A…

I am aware of the problem people are having with low hyd levels in the sim but made me think about the following question: At what point does hydraulic quantity would be a concern in RL and require servicing? Thanks,Sam
