  2. I have a Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 x64 system with 8GB RAM, FSX with SP2 and PMDG's 747-X. All working perfectly. Today (Sept. 5, 2011) I purchased the 737NGX. When I run the installer, I receive an error dialog box that I have an "outdated version of FSX" and need to install SP2. However, SP2 is already installed on my FSX system. When I load an aircraft (747-X) and bring up the help/about menu, it shows that SP2 is installed. If I run the SP2 installer, it tells me that SP2 is already installed. My computer is equipped with removable drives. I removed my Windows 7 ultimate drive and replaced it with my Windows XP SP3 system with FSX. I ran the PMDG 737NGX installer and th…

Hi - hardly worth mentioning except for the fact that NGX set the bar so incredibly high... On the forward overhead 2D depiction of the pressurization panel (VIEWS -> INSTRUMENT PANEL -> FORWARD OVERHEAD, forward corner, FO side), only one position of the L/R toggle for manual valve operation is labelled (the switch is only labelled OPEN). The CLOSE label is only visible in the VC-modelled panel. Also, I believe in the real aircraft, the position light switch toggle is reversed (switch thrown forward is STROBE AND STEADY, aft is STEADY) - but I can't recall for certain on that. So it's only 99.882% perfect. Lee

Hey all, I have been trying to use the autoland feature on the NGX for quite some time now, I have followed all procedures in the tutorial, and the various checklists that have popped up on here, and find that getting the "LAND 3" to come up is a hit and miss affair. I followed the tutorial to the letter last night, and as the plane caught the glide slope after enabling APP, and G/S became active on the PFD, I selected CMD B on the MCP, however where Land 3 is usually displayed on the PFD, it says "Single CH" where the tutorial states it should be "F/D" until 1500ft AGL, this did not happen. I frantically pressed the APP button and all of a suden "LAND 3" activated and th…

Morning, After loading a saved flight the configuration of the plane is changed (antenna on roof even if in the FMC setup it is set to NO)And looking to the plane from the outside the external lights are not visible anymore. But if i land the light on the ground are visible. Is this a known problem after loading a saved flight or is it just me who has this problems. Thanks Eric

Hello, When fspax updates his mini report (for instance hitting turbulence or giving food or drinks) then my fps drops from 30 to 5. This lasts for about 2 sec.I was wondering if enybody else is having the same issue. It's annoying because it happens during take off's and landings.

Captains, So far I've been very pleased with the frame rates with the NGX - it's nice to be able to get at least 22-30 frames for most phases of flight. I have noticed, however, that there's a peculiar drop in frame rates that beings during the final phases of approach in the VC. During my approach and flare, I find that a smooth 23 FPS approach drops down suddenly to about 14-15 and the stuttering begins. Has anyone noticed this? I wonder what process in FSX or the NGX may be causing this. I noticed this flying into CYYC a few times - getting great frames up the threshold, and then a decrease. My taxi in also tends to be affected - the frame generally seem lower than the…

Greetings.I really enjoy using this aircraft simulation. Well made stuff.I have one problem I cannot seem to rectify. I believe I am pretty well versed in the use of the FSX, my computer system, operations of many types of the aircraft simulations I have purchased. I also am one whom reads manuals to try to figure out what is wrong or how to operate such.But.. I cannot figure this one out. I may be missing just one step and cannot find it. When I load up the NGX all functions work great, as it loads up operating and engines running, with throttle operation normal. Flys wonderfully, virtually. Now if I make it cold and dark, which I like to do, after all the systems c…

  13. On the real -800/900 (non ER/ non SFP) the slats extend to full drag when flaps 15 is selected, not flaps 10. But on the NGX the slats extend to full drag when flaps 10 is selected (which would be correct for the -600/700). Isn't this inaccurate for the -800/900? Please correct me if I'm wrong... Hello, I finally got to install and start using the NGX, and first of all it is amazing. I do have a question regarding the sizing of the HGS display in the VC. I am using TrackIR and my zoom is set to the recommended level by PMDG (press backspace, then ctr+spacebar), but at this setting the text in the HGS is too large and is cut off at the edges of the display. To see all of the HGS text/display, I have to sit up and uncomfortably close to the monitor/TrackIR receiver to see HGS view appropriately sized. Is there a way to change the size/view of the HGS display? I tried looking through the introductory document and the FCOM, but I don't recall seeing anything rega…

In any PMDG 737NGX texture folder there are the daytime fuselage textures - pmdg_737NGX_fuselage_1, pmdg_737NGX_fuselage_2, pmdg_737NGX_fuselage_3. In the paintkit downloaded from precisionmanuals website the working paint file for the fuselage are (for the 800) pmdg_full_left.psd, pmdg_full_right.psd and the Targa files - PMDG_800_FUSE_LEFT_L.tga and PMDG_800_FUSE_LEFT_R.tga. My understanding for using (as with LVL-D767 and QWSIM 757) is that you add your paint scheme to the psd files, copy to the .tga files then convert to .dds files using imagetool, renaming to appropriate file names. My question - where are the templates for the pmdg_737NGX_fuselage_1, pmdg_737NGX_fu…

Hi, When I'm inside the virtual cockpit in the NGX I get some graphics issue that looks very similar to static noise often picked up by a TV which is very bad when on a night flight. Unfortunately I'm not at my fsx computer now so can't post a screenshot but can do later if there's not a quick fix. I'm using a Nvidia 560TI graphics card and I'm not experiencing any issues outside of fsx. Thanks,

  19. Hello I was flying the NGX with Winglets at my FMC optimum cruise level of Fl375 and Mach .78 (FMC Speed) and was getting a fuel burn of around 1010 KG per engine per hour, does that sound about right, i read somewhere it would be around 880KG per engine per hour. I did look in FCOM but could not figure it out, thanks all

I have a problem. I ALWAYS use a navlog with fuel predicitons from FS Build on every flight and I try to write down time from t/o, fuel burned, fuel remainig but I have a problem. My upper ECAIS Screen has a fuel total; for example it will say 12.1, then in the FMC it will always say something like 13.2 of 11.1, its never what me ECIAS is telling me but it's always a little below or above. Which one is correct and which one should I writing in my nav log wheile tracking my flight?PLAN/FUEL (FMC)This is an area in the FMC where I have to put something in; either the trips planned fuel or maybe the fuel I loaded into the NGX...I just don't understand whats its for and I thin…

I was in Windows Explorer last night listening to the various sound files on their own. I then clicked on the file named PMDG737NGX_TOUCHDOWN_1.wav. I didn't hear the file but got a message saying Windows Media encountered a problem trying to read this file. So, it would appear to be corrupted. I assume this is just me and everyone else's is fine? Would someone like to check this for me please? The file is in Flight Simulator X/SimObjects/Airplanes/PMDG737-800NGX/sound. Perhaps someone with a working file would be prepared to e-mail it to me, please? When someone volunteers I'll give my e-mail address. Thanks Iain Smith

Tried the rejected take-off between 80knts and V1 without success as the autobrake feature failed. Tried it as follow : started the take-off with stable engines moving up to with brakes on, brakes off - start of roll and engaged the TO mode - saw armed in PFD earlier, pushed the yoke levers all the way up and waited to pass the 80knts maintaining centre line, when passing the 120knts pulled the levers all the way back - auto brake did not come in. Maybe I do something not correct ?

Hey, i was flying the NGX and I saw an option in FMS aircraft settings that says that I can choose between Autoland Fail Op(operational?) or Fail Pass(Passive?), what I want to know is what this two things mean and what the difference if I select one or the other? Thanks,Luiz Cunha
