HeyI have a technical question about the IRS aligment time when set to realistic.how exactly is this modeled in the NGX ?does the plane calculate how long its supposed to take and than just wait that amount of timeor does it simulate some kind of actual alignment process in real time ?thank u.

Hey all, I was using FSBuild to create a route last night and when I was finished I tried to export it to the NGX flightplan folder. It came up with a message saying that it could not export it. Im not sure if there's something wrong with the route or what. Any feedback would be great thank you!! :)

Has the repainters forgotten about the canadian carriers such as Sunwing and Canjet. I know there is a Westjet, but those other two would be nice as well as they are the only -800's that fly into my home airport.

Like, they don't sound realistic at all from the interior. I've been on 6 737-800 flights in the past month, and have sit in various areas of the plane, and it just doesn't sound like the NGX. The biggest concern I have is that the 'trent 800' spoolup whine present in the NGX really isn't there in the real aircraft. It's more of a buzzing sound I have heard in all real life videos and my own plentiful experiences, I have never heard this trent 700/800 whine during spoolup from around 25% N1 to 45% N1 on the 737. It's there on the NGX, and doesn't sound...right. Another thing I saw is that the when in the aft wing view, the sounds aren't realistic at all. In the real thin…

G'day Guys, If you find the elevator, pitch and trim effectiveness not like the real aircraft then try the following changes to the [flight tuning] section in the aircraft.cfg. I found the default settings require far too much back pressure on the yoke to maintain altitude in a level turn. These are my adjustments, try it and see the improvement. [flight_tuning]cruise_lift_scalar = 1.0parasite_drag_scalar = 1.0induced_drag_scalar = 1.0elevator_effectiveness = 7.000 //1.0aileron_effectiveness = 1.0rudder_effectiveness = 1.0pitch_stability = 3.500 //1.0roll_stability = 1.0yaw_stability = 1.0elevator_trim_effectiveness = 2.8 //1.0aileron_trim_effectivenes…

Hello all, I'll be 20 miles out inbound and I have LNAV and VNAV selected, then when I go to select LOC and when the LOC needle starts moving towards the center, everything starts going downhill. On the PFD is says single command and the airplanes starts turning the wrong way. I have the ILS programed into the FMC and both ILS freq tuned in, but even when I go to APP mode it says single command and doesn't want to capture the needle, it just starts a bank away from the LOC. So I take over and hand fly it and when I hand fly it, the glide slope needle will never appear on the whole approach. Any suggestions? Thanks Tim B

I have used several sources (FlightAware, vRoute) to create a simple route from KBFI to KPDX. Both methods come up with KBFI -> SEA -> HELNS4 - KPDX Every time I input this into the FMC I get a route that is continuity problems. What am I doing wrong ?

Lately I have noticed that when I run a saved flight in the NGX, the magenta line is missing from the PDF. This does not happen all the time, just sometimes. Also, the CDU does not have a display until i click on it to bring it up to 2D. Anmyone else with this problem? Otherwise, this is a great airplane. Art StuartKABQ

I see that for the cabin lights when clicking for it to automatically do it, the lights only dim to 50 percent on takeoff/landing. Now on a lot of flights ive been on, they turned the cabin lights completely off (I think?)Is there an option to customize it so it automatically dims the lights off instead of 50%?

Whats an average temperature for fuel in the NGX? I am down by Brisbane Austrailia and at Cruise at FL360 and my Fuel Temp gauge says 12 ºC which is 53.6 ºF While the outside Temperature is -27C = -16.6 ºF ? Is that normal? I remember the MD-11x temps being way lower when it was -27c outside.

Is there a max speed limit for the delicate extendable landing lights? I have actually destroyed real landing lights on a Cessna 402 (max limit 150K) - and came close on a Beechjet (200k) ...but zooming past those speeds while being distracted by something ---- and I don't want to ruin the ones on my new 737NG!!! haha .... in the flightsim, you know the wife will demand I drop all help with the dishes right at the wrong time! :)

In my efforts to perfect NADPs, I need to command VREF40+70 via MCP Intervention. FMC CDU provides V2 and V2 + 20 but not VREF40 for TO and climb (I think). Is there any way of finding or calculating VREF40 without resorting to the FCOM 1 manual - which is fine, but just not as easy as point-and-click? Thanks! Best wishes, David

Is it correct RW practice to use the clock-type AoA meter to monitor pitch increase in the flare as opposed to AI, which feels less accurate? I appreciate that attitude and AoA are not the same thing ... but I am finding it easier simwise to use AoA numerical readout for (e.g.) + 1-degree pitch up, than the AI or just eyeballing the end of the runway. But like to avoid phoney practice if possible! What does the team think? Thanks and best wishes, David

Guys, I've saved a situation: BA 737-800, lined up and ready for TO EBBREGKK. Everything appears normal on the reloaded FMC/CDU including Cutback at 800 and restore at 3000' - though I need to put flaps 5 back on. The whole flight is fine, EXCEPT the plane doesn't seem to respect FMC Speeds on climb out before flap retraction, and gets right down to stall buffet and stick shaker!! The AT is on, both LNAV and VNAV and CMD A are on - FMC Speed is annunciated, everything should be spot on - but isn't, until we've cleaned up flaps and are back in normal CLB. This underspeeding certainly wasn't a problem when I first reloaded the same flight ... and for sure it didn't come up …

I love the NGX. It runs great on my system and for how complex it is, my FPS are still good on my system. The only issue is that, with all of my other add-ons for FSX, under the display settings, I run the highest filtering with AA on. I've always seen great results. With the NGX, if I run the highest filtering, the VC is so blurring that you cannot read anything. If I turn filtering off, the VC is sharp, but the scenery is all grainy. Just wondering if anyone else has had this issue? Here are my specs: Windows 7 SP1, FSX SP2, i5 2.40 GHz, 6 GB RAM, ATI HD 5470 Thanks,Jared Listinsky

I know many of you may well have this, but just to inform you that is a very good read. I have had the book for a few years now, and still cant resist reading it time and time again. Here it is. Boeing 777 FLYING THE BIG JETS by Stanley Stewart It covers in nice detail the basics of navigation, systems, etc and then covers a complete flight from london to Boston. I had it from amazon i believe. lloyd jones

I would like to fly at least the SID’s by hand instead of LNAV-VNAV/ CMD in order to get more feeling with this new bird. However when I take-off, N1 mode remains in control and drives this bird into overspeed and behind. I made all the necessary arrangements for a normal take off like in the tutorial ( EGKK-EHAM). So we go, roll and engage the TO mode with Flaps 5 selected. The PFD showes in white “armed” and switches then to green “TO armed” mode on the right and “N1” on the left of the PFD display. As I get too fast and to high very soon I would like to pitch over and take trust away by pressing SPEED (selected 220 knts on MCP ) The speed knobs does not react, Oh …

I'm still an old caveman 2D panel flyer for the time being. I know that since I'm not using the VC its only hurting my frames. Is there a chance anyone is experienced enough here to remove it?

As I work through the details of and try out various scenarios with the A/P CMD and CWS modes, I ended-up disengaging the A/P completely (manual controls). When I attempt to re-engage the A/P either in CWS or CMD in flight, it will not do it. Can someone tell me what conditions prevent the A/P from engaging. The A/C is trimmed and have level flight. Thanks,Zach
