Could someone using GIMP help me with getting the apha channel transparency working with the tail.psd.I have the rest of my first repaint all set to go, just the night lighting of the tail is defeating me at the moment. At night the vert. tail and inner engine cowlings appear 'fully lit' rather than shaded.I followed the same steps with the tail that I'd successfully used for all the other textures to add my paint then convert to .dds, but is there something different that I have to do with the tail to cope with the alpha channel it's using that the others didn't ?I can see the alpha in GIMP ok ... but it's shaded red rather than the black/white I'd have naively expected.…

Other than setting "Two Class" or "Single Class" in CDU settings, is there a way to specify the number of seats? For example, American and Alaska both have a 16 (First) + 144 (Coach) arrangement, but the CDU Payload screen is set at 12 max for First and 150 max for Coach. I've scanned through some INI files and didn't notice anything. Thanks!

Is the taxi light considered to be one of the 'As needed' items depending on time of day and sight conditions or should the taxi light always be ON when taxi to/from the rwy?

Whenever I try my hand at autoland, it works perfectly, except for the fact that the descent always seems to go to slow, and I never seem to make the proper altitude for landing on time. Is it just poor programing on my part? Patrick Boynton

  6. Started by r_stopnicki,

I have done a search but have not found a thread with a response, so here is my issue. I have lately found that on descent/approaches the A/T disconnect light starts to flash yellow. At the same time, the speed tape starts to fluctuate significantly while the aircraft accelerates beyond the selected airspeed (that it was maintaining quite nicely in the descent prior). At times, I have also noticed a yellow line, above the indicated air speed on the speed tape. It has happened while flying on-line and off line, and I believe that it has happened when flying into unsettled (stormy) conditions. I am sure that the FMC is trying to tell me something (unable to keep speed due …

testing the Autobreaks...Landing 14L in EDDK with Autobraks to MAX. Landing on Maximal Weight without Spoilers. And breaktemp stays at 0.0 but autobreaks work very good ..ok...back track runway ..set breaks to RTO and abort takeoff 10 kts above V1 .. now breaks are really heating up. Bug!?

Still on my first really long multi stage flight and have noted some more problems:- 1. Have awful problems when I load a saved flight. I normally load from a saved flight from Radar Contact 4. Every time I load, after the PMDG countdown, I get violent pitch oscillations that take some time to get under control. Every save is made with VNAV and LNAV selected. I usually lose a few thousand feet while this is going on. Any body else having this problem? 2. On landing at KSEA, I opened the front left door and had THREE door placards lit on the overhead. As well as the passenger door, the LEFT FORWARD OVERWING and RIGHT FORWARD OVERWING placards were lit. Any body else havi…

Hello all, I have been flying the 800 with all the relevant keyboard/PMDG commands with no problems. However, yesterday I changed to the 900 and loaded a flight and tried to load the LNav on the ground without success, I carried on and took off, engaged VNav and A/Pilot and only then did LNav take effect. I was under the impression that Boeing permitted activation of LNav on the ground or is the 900 an exception. Thanks in advance. richard welsh.

Hi everyone, Every time I turn off the auto pilot, using Z, or the autothrottle, with a keyboard command, I get a warning. Now, I know this is normal, but in the planes I fly and the NGXs documents agree with me on this, pressing Z twice should cancel the warning. The problem is that for me it causes the autopilot to reengage. As for the autothrottle, I'm aware you should use the instinctive button on the levers, but just before landing, its not easy to switch to VC, pan around, and back to the 2D panel. Any thoughts on this? Luis Raimundo

Well something happened. I don't have a clue what but the HGS is gone. The control panel in the pedastal is still alive but nothing is being projected onto the combiner glass. Everything else is working and there are no failures listed in the CDU. Anyone else have this happen? Oh by the way this problem is still present even after I uninstalled and reinstalled the NGX. I would hate to uninstall FSX and reinstall it to fix it. I just did that in August before NGX came out and it was a pain. Thanks if anyone can help. Hiram Hunt

I was attempting to start a flight from KFNT to KJFK and was setting up the overhead panel when I noticed that the overheat light was illuminated on both electric hydraulic pumps. Upon checking the FMS menu, I discovered that EMDP A and B overheat failures were active. There was no reason for this, a failure had not occurred on the last flight, nor had I done anything to trigger this. After I cleared the failure in the FMS, the problem persisted, despite no active failures being displayed. I tried activating and clearing the failures with no success. I have service-based failures enabled, however I doubt this is normal failure simulation. On previous flights, brake failur…

Can't believe just how much I'm still being totally enthralled by this bird. Done countless LPMA approaches - such a hoot!!! Thankfully (and gratefully), I've not had the issues many talk of. The point of this... NONE! Just wanted to remind anyone who hasn't yet made the leap - go get it. And, yet again, to THANK ALL THE PMDG TEAM for brightening my days. You know where I'm at just now, and the NGX is helping enormously to forget my troubles

Hi all. With say, an engine failure, the yaw damper has a significant input. If I then add some manual rudder input, the yaw damper input is removed. Example: yaw damper commands large right rudder deflection. I add a little left rudder. Rudder then snaps from hard right over to the left to match my rudder input. Is this correct behavior?

After I install the package and start MSFS. I select the PMDG 737 without winglets, select an airport and start the flight, when the Aircraft loads the panel is completely off and I am unable to click any buttons on the display. This also goes for the overhead panels and center console. Since I am new to the PMDG aircraft I am wondering if I have missed a step somewhere or if I am just completely bone headed. I have search online forums and have found nothing useful.Any help would be great. Thanks! My graphis card is a GeForce 9600GT and my FSUIPC version is 4.70b

I noticed that the info on the AoA website w.r.t. their NGX training has not changed since the NGX was released. They state on the website that only one training module has been completed, that the others will take several months to complete and that training will start in 10-14 days (?)Has anybody signed up with AoA for the NGX training and if so, could he/she pls. let us know what AoA is communicating to it's trainees w.r.t. the availability of the other NGX training modules and if the quality of the finished module is as good as they claim it is. Thanks!
