PMDG 737NGX | 737NGXu

At this moment where is your plane (I assume almost everyone is flying the PMDG 737 NGX) and what is your livery? I am in Singapore (WSSS) with a SpiceJet 737-800. Ed

I'm requesting some help in figuring out how to erase/replace an existing route from the FMC. I input a route from, say, KPHL to KBOS, and then decide to change my destination to KIAD while still on the ground. Attempting to DELETE KBOS gives an INVALID DELETE message on the scratchpad. I can enter KIAD in the scratchpad and replace KBOS with KIAD and EXECUTE, but the old route to KBOS is still there on RTE pg 2, as well as on the LEGS page (the STAR and ILS waypoints for KBOS are erased, but enroute waypoints remain). Short of deleting waypoints one at a time on the LEGS page, or one entry at a time on the RTE pg 2, I can't seem to delete the original route to KBOS. Y…

I posted this topic a couple of hours ago but it disappeared? So again, I tested this scenario out 3 times with the same conclusion. A specific SID contained in the database is causing CTD's. Specifically, the SID is named "KAREN4" from "YMHB". I tried loading the SID at different points whilst on the ground at YMHB (ie, Gate 10, Apron & RWY12) all with the same result. On the 4th ocassion I elected to not choose any SID at all, and no CTD. I tested the LD767 using the same SID on it's FMC/CDU and no CTD. I'm not a programming expert by any stretch of the imagination but logic points me in one direction here. In fact, I've experienced other CTD's whilst in-flight wher…

I noticed this little hole in the wing while leaving KORD at night, on the 800WL with PMDG paint, not sure if its on the others yet, I think Ryan and RSR need to get the duct tape out before it falls off You can see the small hole where the engine is attached to the wing and the house light is showing through

I tried to submit a ticket, but get an error when sending to PMDG, so I submit the problem here: I haven't had any problem with activation, but when I run my registry cleaner software, I always get an error concerning the Flexlm license manager, saying: incorrect or missing value. Repairing doesn't work. This registry error keeps coming up.Any thoughts on this matter? Jos Denis

I posted this topic a couple of hours ago and it disappeared? (coupled with another issue to do with a certain SID in the PMDG database causing CTD's). So again, just to point out to any fellow NGX simmers out there, that if you are experiencing any VC panel freezes check and see if the cuplritis the above app sitting in Task Manager. In my experience with my rig, I've found that this little beaut has inadvertently caused a freeze when it runs an authorization check on the NGX. At least twice nowit has caused a freeze and I've been able to get to task manager and shut the "FNP Licensing Services exe" process down, and immediately the panel un-freezesand I can continue wi…

This new hotfix is nothing but a problem. Fsx crashed 3 times while trying to select the plane, and then after finally getting that to work, it freezes Fsx and crashes my computer. It was perfect with hotfix 3.

...looking better than you never seen it before...? Then I suggest you read the tip from Blidariu Ioan in this -> http://forum.avsim.n...truments-in-vc/ thread. I followed his advice and it involved some learning but boy was it worth it, before this I couldn't even dream the NGX could look as good as it does now...the IQ is just amazing and I'm almost in chock...a very positive chock though

This may be stating the obvious, and if so, apologies, but I finally solved a vexing issue. While I've enjoyed the NGX with few problems so far, I have been bugged, so to speak, by one issue - my engine idle was always too high regardless of how I tried to calibrate my CH Pro Throttle and reset my FSUIPC.ini file...I always had N1 speeds of 29-31% and thus had to deal with excessive taxi speed. I finally solved this with a simple solution -- within FSX's Settings menu, I selected Controls and for my throttle, I set its Sensitivity slider all the way to the right and its Null Zone slider all the way to the left. Now I have N1 idle speeds of 21.2% and no excessive taxi spee…

  10. Hi Ryan, I can confirm that (in my case) that there are instances when the SID/STAR database (PMDG) causes a CTD. I have replicated this on 3 ocassions just this morning and there is no mistake about it. I have an airport add-on for Hobart Australia (YMHB). Whilst on the ground prepping for a DEP, if I choose the KAREN4 SID in the database this causes a CTD. I can be anywhere on the airport grounds (I tried 3 different locations whilst on the ground at YMHB) and experienced the same problem. When electing NOT to choose that SIDthere is no CTD. On the 1st ocassion the CTD occurred after the flight plan was entered and SID chosen. Once I got to the TAKE-OFF PERF page of the…

Been enjoying the NGX for over a month now, and im almost ready to uninstall it and not use it again. Since yesterday, ive been trying to do a simple flight from YBBN to NZCH. Each time, I get a CTD. Addons:PMDG 737NGX 800WLOrbx FTX YBBN w/ AU GoldREX OverDriveENB Series (John Venema)SHADE Flight One:Not expecting any issues, was on the SID onto NZCH just passed FL120, and went to have a shower as it seemed as I was good till cruise to fix some stuff up, I pressed Q so the sound was off, go downstairs, come up and I have a fatal error. Flight Two:Few hours later, and I was hacked off. Changed views (via F11) and CTD. Flight Three:Was today, all was working, heading to RWY…

I will begin by saying that I personally still do not have this amazing product. From what I have seen and read, this aircraft beats even my own favorite, the JS41 which I did buy just over a year ago and which I use with religious awe very frequently. Both myself and a friend of mine had some time ago decided to purchase the NGX; I opted for waiting for SP1 whereas he went ahead and bought his. He is somewhat disappointed (to put it mildly) but I will hasten to say that this is not a reflection of the product but I suspect of his equipment. Since his specs are almost identical to mine, I will wait until he solves his problem before purchasing my copy. The Equipment: Ali…

Just to insure a completely "clean" installation of Hotfix 4, I uninstalled the NGX completely, and re-downloaded the main installation file from my account at the PMDG web site. After unzipping it and checking the readme, it is apparently still the 2922/Hotfix 3 version. (At least as of 1430Z, 25 September). It's no problem, I'll do a clean install of 2922 and update it with the new hotfix, but just wanted to give a heads up...

  15. Hello, after installing the 2987 Hotfix, I had CTDs after loading the NGX. I never had problems before with CTDs. I think something has been changed to improve performance and that is causing this problem. I'll have to wait for SP1 to have this fixed or I can go back to previous version?Follow the Windows log: Application name failed: fsx.exe, version: 10.0.61472.0, timestamp: 0x475e17d3Fault Module Name: PMDG_737NGX.DLL_unloaded, version: 0.0.0.0, timestamp: 0x4e7ce449Exception Code: 0xc0000005Displacement failed: 0x57f99374Identification of the failed process: 0xf18Start time of the failed application: 0x01cc7b84fb426790Application Path failed: C:\Games\FSX\fsx.exePath…

Most of the posts so far this morning, quite naturally fall into two categories: install issues and/or whether new fix actually solves CTD issues that some have been having. But what about all the myriads of tweaks and improvements that were to be included in this fix according to Robert's announcement? Have any of you noticed any improvements or changes in systems or visuals? Most importantly, have they fixed any of the main issues such as the "drunken" ADF gauge? What about a fluid refill option in the FMC? Have any of you tried a go-around on other than an autoland? Does the power still decrease without immediate intervention? What about landing lights on dus…

As a passenger, I have flown in and out of Rio's Santos Dumont airport on 737 classics several times. I'm very impressed at your rendition of the -800 SFP! My question is if SFP pilots use flaps 5 for take-off, or do they go 10 or 15? I'm sure there is a payload restriction too. Thank in advance for any information on this. I recommend doind the SBSP-SBRJ-SBSP shuttle with this airplane! Luis Linares

The "export to flightsim" functionality of TOPCAT is apparently not compatible with the hotfix updater. So if you have used that you will have to (well, I had to anyway) follow the instructions at http://forum.avsim.net/topic/349628-cfg-versions-not-updated-after-hf4-how-to-fix/ to install the hotfix 4.

  19. After I installed HF4, and finally got my aircraft.cfg files updated, everything was going along just great. Smooth VC, no CTD, panel freezes, fps seemed a little better, just enough new stuff to keep it interesting, etc. But when I looked at an outside view to get the jetway to come to the doors, and I noticed the only things showing were the wings, front doors, airstairs, nose cone, and the secret PMDG cockpit box. It's really not the classic "skeleton" because there are just a few parts visible. I tried reloading several times at different locations, no help. I'm sure it's something simple, but I can't figure it out. Little help, please? TIA Dennis

  21. Im not having any problems right now, should i just wait for the service pack and skip the latest hotfix? it seems to be causing problems. Basicly im asking if the service pack will overlap what the hotfix is supposed to fix. Is the hot fix a prerequisite to install the service pack? Thanks, Mitch Bowman

This is especially for the devs. As we all know and expect, during manual flight our hardware joysticks/yokes and throttles are mirrored by the respective controls in the VC quite instantly and without any lag or delay. However there seem to be a few things that got me thinking. For example, during A/T ARM, moving the hardware throttle will yield significant lag in VC throttle movement. As I understand it, in ARM you can freely move the thrust levers on the real thing. So I wonder why the visual effect differs from manual thrust control here (with AT completely off). This also relates to the approach idle issue many are seeing, i. e. the thrust levers advancing when appro…

  23. I am not a 'techie', and my system is quite simple and meagre compared to many on here but I wonder why so many experience crashes, freezes etc with the NGX yet, to date, I havent. (am touching wood as I speak... hope I'm not tempting fate here) I use 2 pieces of software which I find invaluable and, I hope they may be of use. FSX Booster http://fsps.737ng.gr/ (they also do other variants depending on what may best suit your pc) and... Hello. In the NGX documentation it says to disable turbulence whilst using the NGX. If using ASE does this matter? Thanks, Will Wilson
