Hello everyoneI'm enjoying the new PMDG B738 NXG. Realistic, very functional. But like any new product, I noticed some bugs:- When I click off the aircraft at the CMA, then when I press on LNAV and VNAV simply nothing happens. The button does not work, it lights up green. I have to act fast in speed manual or autothrottle.- When I'm in right of descent, the aircraft does not follow the schedule of the FMC. At this point the message "drag required" keeps popping up constantly. When you step into the autothrottle speed continues to increase. Speedbreaker and triggers the system does not seem to have no reaction, no drag on the aircraft.- On the ground, when start the taxi t…

Hello guys. I sometimes struggling to reduce speed while descend because idle thrust stays more than idle.Usually when aircraft enters DES phase or changed from DES SPD, A/T mode goes IDLE, then finally ARM. But occasionally N1 stays 41~42 than 33~34..I don't know exact condition for A/T choose which thrust.. Additionally, when I press F1 key to make complete idle, it goes down to 33% N1 as I expected,(but sometimes A/T holds 40's again.. PFD still shows ARM, no change) I'm experiencing NGX flies faster than target speed.Am I missing something..? I don't use CRZ SPD but it happens both with winds or clear skies. Any advice appreciated!

It has always been my practice in real life to disconnect AP on coupled approach once landing was assured and hand fly the rest of the approach and landing. When I disconnect the AP on the simulation of B737NGX, however, the plane immediately goes into an uncontrollable right bank and is unresponsive to any manual control inputs. I have tested this scenario with and without wx settings on my registered FSUIPC v4.6. I have tried to regain control by reselecting CMB or CMS (neither will activate) or by disonnecting the FD's. The system screen shows that the control surfaces are displacing correctly but the simulation does not respond or react to any of the inputs. I ha…

hello, something with the 737NGX make me wonder and I'll try to explain what I mean:in my FSX everytime I start with the 737NGX AirBerlin with a cold and dark cockpit. This is saved as the default flight and the c&d cockpit is saved in the FMC too. If I load this plane in the evening everything works alright. But if I use another livery the logo and landinglights are not illuminated. Only if I load first the airBerlin-livery and after that the other livery the lights work. What is the reason and how can I solve this problem? thanks Kai

Or should we be using default FSX weather for authentic flying? As I know they have put time and effort into the flight dynamics. Surely a weather program is a big deal, in comparason to default weather?

A couple of weeks ago I began writing a complete tutorial for the NGX, covering all phases of flight from cold and dark startup to shutting down and securing the aircraft. I quickly discovered that this was a somewhat larger task than I had anticipated At this point I'm grinding the procedure of setting up the overhead, taking screenshots and writing description. I have completed the parts that describe how to load and fuel the aircraft, power up the airplane, and how to complete the CDU preflight procedure. I've decided to make those parts available now instead of waiting until everything is done, partly because I hope that some may find it useful in its current state, …

I only have an E6850 system with a 512MB 9800GTX, so my system can't handle Hi-Res textures (4096x4096). They will load ok (Slow) but introduce scenery blurries, that I normally don't get. So this forces me to reduce texture size (With Photoshop) for any texture greater then 1024x1024 down to the standard resolution of 1024x1024 (Or whatever proportionately the texture is) For example if the original size was 4096x2048 it would now be 1024x512. I knew this going into purchasing the PMDG NGX as I have the same issue with McPhrat textures. The result especially in the VC quite honestly I can't tell the difference. I have only converted one of the VC textures so far, so I…

Just tried a couple of go-arounds & spotted that the reduced go-around thrust is rather too reduced, giving insufficient climb performance. For example: go-around thrust was a mere 78.6%, pitch 7 degrees nose up, rate of climb <1000 fpm. This was with flap 15 & gear up. I would suggest that ballpark figures would be around 90% N1, pitch 15 degrees nose up, ROC somewhere between 1000-2000 fpm. I know you can press TOGA a second time but under normal conditions this should not be necessary. Cheers, Doug

Hello,I am a bit confused why I keep having a zone temp. error straight after engine start. After the engines have started, I open their bleeds and packs, whilst verifying the trim air is on. After 1 minute, the temperature from the gauge for the supply duct, cont cab, goes up to 75 degrees C, then I have to manually turn the (what I presume) is the air conditioning for the cont cab from AUTO to C for the temperature to decrease. The temperature falls to 20 degrees C and then I have to trip reset underneath the isolation valve to remove the warning, having to keep the switch on C for the rest of the flight. I have checked for failures and there are none. Can someone pleas…

Was wondering if anyone knows where I can get some SID/STARs for PADU, Dutch Harbour, Alaska. Ended up on a HUD visual, which works great, but I'm sure I've seen at least a VOR or GPS in there. Not that it gets you much lower, but it would be welcomed. The plane works great after the fresh install + HF4 Thanks

Hi All Bad flight tonight bad flu and have not done an NGX flight for a few weeks, after take off forgot to engage autopilot so flew straight ahead for a while before I realised I was not following the flight directors so got things back under control for a while then when asked to descent from FL350 to FL 140 by radar contact controller I accidently dumped 30 degrees of flaps instead of the speed brake then i wondered why I wanted to use the speed brake but too late destroyed one 737 NGX, morale of the story dont fly when you are sick and not current he he

First 5 or so takeoffs worked went smoothly using TO/GA hot button on takeoff after it was pressed at 40% N1. But for the last few weeks, every time I use the function, once I hit 80 knots, the throttles retard like it's an RTO but the spoilers don't kick in and autobrakes don't activate either. Basically just lose thrust. Doesn't happen if i advance throttles manually and complete takeoff that way. Anyone have similar issues? Anyone have an explanation/fix? Peter

I've just made my first flight using HF4 and thought I'd share a couple of observations. Would love to hear comments from others about what you've noticed---good and bad. 1) Auto-Throttle is no longer disengaging during engine run-up right before take-off. Before HF4, I would engage AT, increase throttle to about 70%, click the hidden TOGA spot, advance throttles to full. At this point, the AT would disengage. 2) Landing gear are now operating with my FSUIPC assigned axis control lever (had to press G before). Those are the only things that jumped out at me. Definitely a step in the right direction.

I'm just wondering why in a crosswind the nose of the aircraft on the HUD is shown pointing away from the direction of the wind instead of into it ? I'm puzzled because it just does't look right. Other than this I don't see any other problems. Richard Lecki

Hey gang, I've gone a bit crazy and can't seem to remember how to set the NGX to automatically load the previous flight's panel state by default. I don't see any options available to do this in the CDU menus. Can anyone be awesome and rehash my memory for me?

Hello, I was wondering about how to perform a correct no bleed takeoff and stumbled across the procedures in the manuals. However I always had the impression you could just do the takeoff without bleeds, and maybe not even have any significant effect on cabin pressure as you'd engage bleeds shortly after takeoff (after flap retraction as per NP). Now I read it's apparently different, as the APU can be used to supply packs during takeoff. Question - is this a definite requirement? No bleed takeoff implies APU supplying packs? So no "pack off" departure in any case, no matter how short the period would be? Thanks. EDIT Ok I have to revise a bit what I wrote above. Right ab…

Before I go into detail on this let me set some parameters. First off, I am using only the original RTM version with NO fixes. Secondly, I have no idea whether the technique I am about to explain is possible in the real NG. This is all new stuff to me. I flew 727's for most of my career and we didn't have sophisticated flight computers, just good pilots! There have been several posts asking for procedural info for setting up an IAN approach and the only answers seem to come from non-pilots. The real world NG pilots in the forum have been silent on the issue. So its trial and error along with what little is in the FCOM. My first approach to LPFR was the VOR/DME and t…

Ever since I installed the most recent hot fix (#2987) I cannot seem to fly safely on autopilot because the A/T disengages. Prior to hot fix #2987 all was well. I've seen mentions about using the ASE weather engine -- which I am -- and that it may be causing problems. However, it clearly wasn't before HF 2987 and I flew dozens of flights successfully. Is anyone else having this same problem ?
