    Know there was a topic on this awhile back but I am really wondering if I'm starting to go crazy!!First off, I do My Captains flows before I drive my vehicle.I Call V speeds and Rotate when I speed up on the freeway.I find myself holding My Steering Wheel Like a Yoke!!!This thing is amazing but has put me in a state of constant NGXing lolAll the Best,Brad

    I would like to indicate the way I calculate and enter winds aloft into the 737NGX FMC and receive any comments anyone might have on this procedure. I use the ASE briefing to get the wind info I need. For the climb I will use the average wind direction and speed for three or four waypoints starting with origin airport at 6000 ft and ending with the waypoint prior to TC. This average I enter in the cruise wind line on the PERF INIT page. For cruise I enter wind direction and speed on the ACT RTE DATA page for each waypoint. For descent I enter wind direction and speed for FL300, 18000, and 9000 on the ACT DES FORECASTS page. I always use these altitudes because there ISA a…

    Hi,Robert said in the fix list, that the FMC will now disregard any preselected departure runway or SID, created in 3rd party flightplanners. Well, I have FSBuild 2.4. And today I did a flightplan from EHAM to LFMN. I preselected departure runway 24, and SID LEKKO1S. I started up my flight, turned the battery on, ground power on, IRS alignment, etc etc. Until I eventually came to the construction of my route. As usual, the departure aiport ICAO code (in this case EHAM), appears automaticly when coming inthe RTE page. So I pasted EHAM.     Last night I was messing around trying to fly a few practice circuits at EGKK. I basically hand flew the jet on a rough circuit and intercepted the glide slope at the correct altitude. Is there a more elegant way of doing this? Could I make better use of the autopilot to fly the downwind and base legs? I'd be interested to see how other people fly practice circuits and what their procedure is. Cheers,Ed

    I've been flying the 737 NGX around for quite some time now and my favorite bird remains the PMDG 747x.The 737 NGX's simulation of avionics is accurate, the VC is superb, sounds are amazing but I can't feel the airplane.With the 747 I can feel the inertia and I love to operate the rudder to maneuver her swift, a gentle flare is a piece of cake.With the 737 there seems to be no need for the rudder besides the takeoff roll and to straighten out a crosswind landing.Especially rudder inputs seem to provoke an exagerated immediate and linear response of the airplane, it stays in an almost continuous slip that feels odd.Inputs to the flight controls lack somewhat a delay to rea…

  6. So much for the hours running up on the air frame and the plane showing its wear with failiures. Everytime PMDG releases a SP for the NGX it screws up my liveries and I once again have to start fresh.I of course could backed up the .cfg file, but as it was said no re-install was needed, everything under SP1 will work fine under SP1b, I figured I had nothing to worry about.Can PMDG please figure out how to patch the plane without messing with the liveries when you get to SP2?

    Hi All,I have purchased REX but haven't installed it yet.Does anyone know if REX has a 'Wind Smoothing' facility.If not, should I get FSUIPC4 (I think) .. for FSX as well as REX.Also does Active Sky have Wind Smoothing, ...Is Active Sky better to use?Maybe FSUIPC & REX would be the cheaper & more efficient option, don't really know.These Wind Shifts in FSX after downloadind real upper winds WX is dissapointing at times & really throws my NGX around as it tries to correct.Hope some one might have some thoughtful recomendationsThanks.Regards,Stewart T.

    After I finally got the NGX to version 3118 (Had many problems with that) I now get a fatal error after takeoff! My aircraft was flying perfectly before this service pack install. One was caused by dsound.dll and one g3d.dll. This is really frustrating!!! This is after I had to do a complete clean install of both the 6700 and 8900!

    HiI have seen one little thing that might be wrong or maybe it is me.Right now I am doing a Canadian tour and the trans. alt is 18000.If I am in at a lets say 14000 approach and ATC (RS4) calls me and say thatthe QNH have change up or down and I change it lets say from 3002 to 2986and of cours the altimeter strip changes to. But the NGX does not adjust thealtitude so I have done app. 2-300 feets above or below assigned alt.But if I am at FL330 and the pressure is changing the NGX adjusts the altitude.Is this the way it works or do I have to press some button somewhere,oris it a bug.It might be somewere in the manuals but I ask here before I spend some hourstrying to find …

    As I posted earlier, it's not about the effects (except we do know that runway skid effect file in fsx/effects must go away) for the PMDG jet, I noticed my touchdown pause was caused when having any form of fiber_time_fraction=## in my fsx.cfg. Getting rid of the fiber_time_fraction command solved the touchdown stutters !! I know it makes no sense (or does it ?) .... but it does work, try it if you're having the same slight pause on touchdown! FTF command seems to do nothing anyways in my ******* tweaked .cfg.. I am not sure why I was so anxious to put it in again...

    On a KTPA-KJFK flight this morning with a CAMRN STAR to 22L at KJFK the 738 would not descend below 10000 ASL even though the MCP had 4000 ASL dialed in and speed was at 206 kts. I then noticed VNAV ALT HOLD on the PFD. I waited as long as I could for the 738 to descend but at around 3000 feet above the VNAV path I used VS to finish the flight. I can find nothing in the FCOMs' about this mode using search and just browsing thru them. Does anyone know what would have caused this?Thank youMichael Cubine

    Hi guys,I installed SP1, and now, in my 2D front view, the point of view looks completely down at the Runway.I can correct that with the Shift-Q command, but as soon as I look left or right, the point of view is reset to the original value and looks down again.Anybody noticing this problem ?     I'm using Traffic X in FSX and I find the sounds highly unrealistic. I've been thinking about UT2 but utube demos overide sound with music. From what I see of the aircraft they are much more realistic in UT 2 than TX, but how about the sounds.Those who have UT2 how do you rate the sounds of jets landing and taking off in comparison to TX?Thanks for your commentsRegards

    I know what ETOPS is in real life (Southwest ordered -800s equipped with ETOPS, yay!) but in the NGX, there is an option to turn it on or off. What does it add? More range like in real life?
