  3. I recently upgraded from a Intel Core 2 Quad Core Q9650 (overclocked to 4.05 GHz) and built a new computer with a Core I7 2600K. This processor has turbo boost technology, and with an Asus motherboard, I just check on box to get a 100% stable GHz. With my original processor, I was getting "manageable" FSX performance and hardly "bearable" NGX performace. Hardly bearable being 12-18fps at airports and 30 fps tops at altitude.Now, with all texture settings maxed out, default FSX aircraft are for the most part holding steady at 60 fps no matter where I'm at (Vsync enabled via Nvidia inspector). The NGX is getting a very smooth 30-35 FPS while taxing around Flytampa airports …

(Provided that a ton is defined as "approximately 1GB give or take a few megabytes )For those that do not know, I live in a place that has third world internet connectivity so my upload speeds are only enviable if you are still on dial-up.     Before I buy the NGX, I just wanted to make sure my system will be able to handle it well. I have read that it is quite demanding on resources. I have a homebuilt i7-920 2.67 ghz overclocked to 4.0 ghz, GTX-275 1792 mb card, 12 gig DDR3 Corsair ram, and Windows 7 64 bit. FSX runs quite well. Any ideas? Thanks. Tom

  7. HelloFirstly, the NGX is awesome! However, i am experiencing intermittent frame rate drops when i use control inputs via either the rudder pedals or joystick. For example, i will be flying at altitude or taxing at the airport and if i use the rudder or ailerons to make a control input my frame rates drop at tmes up to 50%. I flew handheld into KLAX with the 2D panel the other day and it dropped to nearly 5fps at some points! I never had this problem previously with the NGX so it seems to be recent for some reason. The same approach was flown with the level-d and it they remained in the upper 20's under the same conditions! The only association i can make is the the frame …

    I know the answer will vary by operator, but can some of the folks who work for airlines tell me what policies are in place on when (and when not) to use the HUD for aircraft that have it installed. I'm wondering if most operators only use it during low visibility approaches, or if some use it all the time. It is handy to have your airspeed and aim point displayed for you, even if the visibility is good, but I wonder if I'm "cheating" by using this while I (hand) fly approaches.Bill Rowe

    I am using Radar Contact. RC gives me vectors to the final approach course. I engage VOR/LOC & the PMDG 737NGX turns onto the approach course. Both Flight Directors are on, the approach course is set, both radios are tuned to the proper frequency. The FD shows VOR/LOC. I am below the glideslope. Autopilot is set to CMD A. The FD slows MCP speed, ALT ACQ. At about 10 miles from the airport, I press APP on the MCP. Nothing happens & the aircraft continues toward the runway, passing above the glideslope. What am I doing wrong?

    Hello!I have investigated quite a lot regarding the combination of 738 FMC and FSX ATC (the built-in, not r/l like VATSIM/IVAO).     Hi evry one, I always crash FSX after a flight with the 737NGX.Everything is up to date, and fresh installed including WIN 7 64 bits (change my motherboard and processor).I am flying with the 737NGX, the MCP Pro with 2.03 driver version, EeasyDock and Saitek Pro Yoke. With this combinason I always have a crash when exiting FSX.     Just wondering if reactive windshear is modeled in the NGX as I'm just after flying through some fairly heavy WS but no alarm. I get that there probably wouldn't be predictive windshear if the wind in FS is anything like rain and clouds, but reactive windshear should be easy enough to define by a few parameters.Rónán O Cadhain.

    I've tryied to fly an offset route using the offset page on the CDU. The page shows the offset input but when trying to use it I allways get a "invalid data" message.I've tryed entering the offset distance in different formats like "2", "1.5", "002.0" without success.Is there some bug with this function?Regards!

    Hi guys,I've been following the forum for ages but have not yet said hello or needed to post a problem. Recently i have been flying the NGX and noticed that shortly after take off and set up on LNAV the aircraft starts to sway left, then over compensates to the right and so on........the rocking gets bigger and bigger until i give up and shut down FSX. Does anyone know why this could be ? I have the latest NGX update and everything else is running well. I also have a licensed FSUIPC.Thank you in advance guys.Andrew Blake

The following is an edit of Martin Boehme's thread back in August as I'm experiencing the exact same issue using the NGX SP1....I'm using a Saitek Pro Flight Yoke with additional throttle quadrant with the 737NGX, and I'm having a bit of trouble setting the 737NGX up to work correctly with separate throttles (i.e. "throttle 1" and "throttle 2"). It works manually, but not under A/T but the "cyan arc" feature does not work correctly, and sometimes moving the throttle causes the autothrottle to disconnect even though I have "A/T manual override" set to "NEVER" (or indeed any option).     Anyone know how to set in the correct time in the FMC 'POS INIT' page. I can set it through the FSX option for 'time -date season'. But I cannot set it directly into the FMC. In the PMDG NGX Flight Operations Manual /Vol 2/ 11.40.10 , it is stated "" If the GPS time is not valid,GMTstarts at 0000.0Z when the FMC is first powered. MON/DY is blank.
