Hi there.EVERY time I'm flying an approach I will get the APPROACH VREF NOT SELECTED (or something similar).What does this mean? If I'm doing an ILS landing, it always comes perfect with no issues and with smoothness. I saw on the FCOM 1 page 131 and it says to enter VREF on the approach REF page. How do I do that?

I am sorry if this was discussed before but last night i noticed one thing. When the plane b738w was being pushed back at the KSFO by Flightbeam using AES the wheels weren't rotating at all (no, brakes were off)! haven't tried on other airports where AES is active. is this "normal" for fsx or a bug? anybody noticing that before?thnxivan

Just noticed yesterday on NGX flight that the beacon atop the fuselage was on but not flashing it was just a steady red light, any solution to this? I've tried cycling the anti-collision beacon switch on the overhead but nothing changes.Tom Helwick, Livingston, Montana

Hi Everyone: When trying to land at San Diego KSAN RWY 09, the FMC tells me that the frequency is supposed to by 111.55 with a heading course of 92. But my personal charts of the same runway say the frequency should be 110.9 with a runway course of 92. When I try the frequency the FMC says, I get nothing on my PFD. When I try the frequency on my chart, I get the localizer and the glide slope to show up. Is there an error in the FMC data? I have the latest AIRAC cycle installed. Thanks, Chris Catalano

I'm trying to wrap my head around track up versus heading up. Been reading about the different modes, but I'm still confused.Often, I'll select a heading using heading select in track up mode and the aircraft does not follow the heading I specify, but rather an offset. For example, I might select 180 on the Hdg bug, but the aircraft will fly what appears to be a heading of 173. Now, am I correct in assuming that in order for the aircraft to fly the selected heading of 180 given the current wind conditions, it must actually fly 173 to maintain the input heading (e.g. crabbing)? I recall in the real world when I flew light planes, I had to adjust for drift given wind co…

HiWhen in the default VC view, if I turn my view to the left I can't see the wingtip in the 800/900.In the 600/700 i can see the wingtip. Can anyone confirm that is correct?I can swear I could see the wingtip in 800 model before.....but just want to make shore!

I have tried several times to complete the tutorial flight from EGKK to EHAM.Everything is set up exactly right in the CDU (FMC).On the descent profile I should be at or above FL055A at the NIRSI intersection.For some reason, every time I approach FL060, the aircraft levels off.In the altitude on MCP I have set FL020 (2,000).There really does not seem to be any reason for it not to continue it's descent profile.After passing NIRSI, I get an error on the CDU that I am unable to maintain or keep the descent profile and of course I overshoot the runway.Any help would be great.The speed and altitude restrictions programmed into the MCP are exactly as they should be.Thanks for…

Hello all.I have a dual boot computer with Vista on one HD and 7 on the other. FSX and all the add on's are installed on both drives pretty much identical. The NGX runs beautifully on both systems but there is a difference between the cockpit lighting that I would like to resolve if I can.On the 7 drive,if I start to turn up the flood lighting,or the AFDS floods (most any switch on a dimmer) the light comes on bright right away,yet on the Vista drive the lights come on gradually like I would think they should if they are on a dimmer switch. Also, on the 7 drive if I press the "I" key on the keyboard a light comes on in the cockpit,but on the Vista drive I do not have th…

Captains,We all know airports like Kai Tak and Tegucigulpa have some of the hardest approaches for pilots of all skill levels. However, what about airports in the US? What are some of the hardest US airports with published approaches to follow? I'm looking for a challenge but I cannot seem to put my finger on one. Hi,I'm trying to get the 737NGX to be able to use an ILS added to an airport not originally equipped with one. I used ADE9x to extend the runway, pave it and add CAT III ILS on both ends. That works fine. The NGX receives the signal and indicates for the localizer and glideslope correctly, and the autopilot correctly captures the localizer. However, approach mode fails to engage. Sometimes it will just indicate "SINGLE CH" without actually engaging, sometimes the "CWS R" indication comes up.To the best of my abilities to investigate how to do it, I added/changed all the required information in the navdata files in the PMDGNAVDATA directory and added a basic file in t…

Evening all! I'm getting an error about hitting my activation limit. I originally had it installed on my laptop. That broke over the summer so I installed on a temporary desktop and I've since got myself a new machine and can't activate it :(. I've submitted a ticket on Sunday but haven't heard anything back. Is there anyway to increase the limit within the account area on the main website?

I did a new FLASH signature for the NGX based on what people have here on the forum. FLASH isn't possible on many forums so this signature can't be used here (too many hacker idiots out there), but wanted to show it and maybe give you a little fun. I have several Flash signatures to show support to developers on my forum and other just for fun. This one is my second PMDG sig. The first is for the J41 in stormy skies.
