Hi All, Yesterday i was flying the LAM4M SID out of Gatwick and some of the initial legs are at 4000 or 5000 feet i believe to deconflict with heathrow traffic. However if i reset the altitude in the altitude window when flying the legs on LNAV/VNAV, the aircraft will climb to what i have set it to (I set 15000ft) rather than following the hard VNAV constraints, is this right. I would have thought it would have only happened if i set the altitude for those legs as 4000A for example rather than 4000. Lately i also find that i need to disengage and reengage VNAV for it to follow the descent path before it does what it should. I am running SP1C and have reinstalled. …

Hey, first i want to say how glad i am with the fs2crew for the NGX, they did a very great job! it can be very useful when i fly alone. however when i am flying with my friend i would like to keep the pushback option, is that possible? also, when i am using fs2crew for more realistic feeling can i download a track or use a program that will simulate the track and the ground crew when pushing back? one last thing, can i use it with fsdt gsx? thanks for the help in advance! Daniel.

I wonder if the Hydraulic fluid transfer works on PMDG 737? I am on a KBOS-LAX flight at the moment,so cannot test 7 -Transfer hydraulic fluid from A > B or B > A to equalize reservoir levels. 737-ALL When its necessary to equalize the fluid levels between the A and B hydraulic reservoirs , you can use the procedures below. Make sure the total quantity displayed on the gauge is approx 2/3 between refill and FULL (classic) , or approx 92% on the DU (NG). This is to prevent overfilling and fumes in the airco system , see maintenance tip 737-MT-12-002. Hydraulic fluid transfer: A > B 1. A pump …

Hi all, Wishing to fly from EGSS (London Stansted) to CYYT (St Johns, Canada), using NAT TRACK F, entering at MALOT, exiting at YAY. Drawing a single line direct route without any waypoints between these airports result in a distance of 2020 or so NM. However, flying the above NAT TRACK from end-to-end gives a distance of over 2300 NM. An extra distance of 300 or more NM. Mainly, because the last two waypoints (HECKK and YAY) are situated quite off the intended course, and after reaching YAY, a 90 degree left turn, followed by hundreds of miles flying south will take us finally to CYYT. However, IF it is possible to drop at least the last two waypoints, the di…

How do you program the FMC to make the plane step climb at a certain waypoint? I'm currently flying from PHNL to CYYJ as flight WJA1899 and on my flightplan it says to step to FL390 from FL370 at N43W130. How do I make it step to cross that waypoint at FL390?

First of I have to say that I am actually a very happy long time customer. Ever since I started going around I have noticed many bugs or problems with my installation perhaps. I do know there is a difference between bugs and pilot error but I have read all the manuals 2 times now and have about 200 hours in this aircraft but very little of it doing missed approaches. Anyway I think I might be up for a reinstall what do you guys think? So there I am approaching Dutch harbor again for my second try. I have built the GPS E into this airport using the way points and speed/altitude constraints (this approach is not in the database). I set the mcp alt to the MDA before the …

Hi all. I was trying to fly an RNAV approach into EDDK 32R. The FCTM says that you should put the MDA +50 in the MCP, and when established on VNAV PTH in the final sector (after passing FAF) and 300" below the missed approach altitude ((MAA) 5000" for EDDK 32R)), you can set the MAA in the MCP window. At FAF 32R you start the descend at 3000", so I should be able to set the MAA once descending on VNAV PTH right after the FAF. But this did not happend. When I set the MAA in the MCP the AP just went into ALT ACQ. I cant figure out what I am during wrong here...Any suggestions? Best Regards Bjarne Sorensen

i think that pmdg ngx is a very good program but it.s got some flaw. i have a tr in 737-800 and with an engine failure for example the skid indicator in the pfd separate the upper triangle from the lower rectangle to show you the skid. and when landing with 1 engine the nose weel is straight and not trimmed with the tail. i just hope pmdg will fix this issue.

Since I have installed the SP1c I get the "out of memory" error when flying the 737NGX. The weird thing is that fsx and the NGX just use about 2gb and I have got 8gb RAM. Another thing I don't understand is that there are no performance problems there's just an error message coming up that the pc ran out of memory and I should check the graphics and scenerys. It happens about after an hour or more of flying and I tested it with the SkySpirit2010 747-8 and there it is as smoth as with the NGX but I don't get the error. (If it helps I've got an Asus N73SV Laptop with I7-2630QM and GeForce GT540M 1GB and 8GB RAM. Even BF3 hasn't got a problem :D )

I've been logging more and more flight hours in the NGX now and loving every minute of it! And as I continue and start to move into the area now of flight emergencies and how to effectively deal with them, a question kept popping up in my mind... How does one rate a good Captain? What are the critieria? I was thinking along those lines because everyone wants a quantifiable measure in order to compare apples to apples and hopefully achieve the requisite measure to yourself be considered a good Captain. I considered on time performance, Skill with manual flight handling, Overall experience concerning flight hours, Competence in dealing with emergencies quickly an…

Hey guys so I've been really frustrated with fsx recently. I keep getting the black screen when I alt+enter out of fsx. I'm running REX and when I exit out of fsx I get an error from there but I think that's due to me exiting out of fsx without closing REX first. I've tried replacing the UIAutomationCore.dll (I am running on Windows Vista) but the problem hasn't gone away. It's very strange, like just now at EHAM in the NGX I tried alt+tabbing when it loaded up and it was fine. But then on takeoff fps dropped to 9 from around 30 so I hit alt+enter and the screen went black but I could still here the wind and trim sounds. Other addons I run, other than scenery (I w…

Evening all, Just gone back to Vista from W7 and now I find that my mouse only arrows the clickspots it does this to my 737 NGX in both the VC/2d cockpits and ovbiously nothing will work without the mouse hand showing. Curiously though, it works only on the yoke to lower/raise the same ! ) I have the latest Nvidia driver(s) & NGX service packs. All my other a/c do work well with the mouse. Can any one offer any advice - thanks in advance :0 PS, Is there meant to be a PFD configuration manager - if there is I can't find it : ( Frederick B…

Hi there, following the tutorial#2 fuel calculation example - the part relative to the alternate trip fuel, some time when I try do switch the alternate from the default "direct" to the "missed" mode the LSK seems not to work, direct is there and cannot be changed to missed. Deleting the airport and reinseting it or trying with others airports doesn't "unlock" the mode switch. I guess is my problem since some times it works, some times it doesn't but haven't been able to figure out what I was making different... PERF INIT is always done, i tryed to make sure a DEP rwy/sid was selected as well as TO INIT but no luck... Hope somebody can help!

Hi all, Are there any tutorials out there that describe step by step how to set the 737 up from the cold and dark state? I've looked on YouTube but the videos have no narration or explanation. Just lots of random clicking which is hard to follow. Thanks.

interested in understanding what speed should be used during the final approach. recent flight into EGJJ on rnwy27 (BMI Baby 600) the fms indicated 126@30deg flap.. using this I ended up "sinking" along the last 1 mile of the flight with the Angle of attack approaching a full take off view? added throttle to around 150 and this seemed to settle things down and enabled a safe landing. Interested in hearing about the "correct" speed on this critical part of the flight. thanks

Howdy folks!I recently bought ASE, and it sure makes a difference in terms of weather depiction among other things. Getting accurate winds aloft data is fantastic and makes my FMS very accurate. I do have one question though. How does one get the most accurate descent forecast values from ASE or other souces? Currently I just type in my destination airport in the reports section of ASE and use the winds aloft data there. The only problem with this is that I am not flying at those altitudes over the airport and I don't think it is the most accurate. Do you captains have any better ways to do this? Thanks!

Hi, Today I tried to make it from PANC to PADU (Unalaska, Dutch Harbour) using real world weather from AS2012! So there I was on the GPS E and weather was down to 600 and 3 miles in snow. Obviously I did not make it in so I diverted to Cold Bay. Pretty cool and very challenging. This was my first go around and real missed approach in the NGX and I botched my way through it. I had a few problems. 1. The GPS E was not in the database so I built it myself but there was a problem when the aircraft got to the MAWP (missed approach waypoint) it turned on its own just before it to the MAHP (hold point). Obviously it did this because that was the next fix. My question…

Hello, I am trying to get the three Display units in the 2D panel of the NGX zoomed in or enlarged as what we were doing in the FS9 737 by one button press but it seems that it's not available here. I am aware that pressing on the ND/PFD/ED units will open a zoomed-in view out and above it's position but this view for all DU's in the same time will block part of the windshield. I am new to 737NGX, please advise if there is anyway to enlarge the DU's in their positions similar to FS9 737 and MD11. I am using a 32" wide screen. Though, the texts and objects in the Display units are small and hard to read without zooming. Any comments on this issue wi…

I'm happy with my PMDG NGX, but two small bugs that cause minor irritation are. The alternative airports, every time load panel state, previous alternatives always still in fmc, delete them or change them, yet loading panel again they return as old ones and not even the ones used on last flight. Shouldn't they delete like other fmc data on shutdown. Also I generally use twin cabin configuration. And mainly full pax loading. So 150ecom and 12first. If I load cold and dark, it leaves the cargo loading as whatever it was previously, but always changes pax loading to 7first and 155 ecom 155 obviously bing wrong as its actually impossible to set that figure yourself.…

Hi guys! Wondering if anyone can help me out with a issue i seem to have run into. last night i decided to do a quick defrag on my D: drive (this is where i have my FSX installed to) after doing so i went into FSX and booted up my A/C the PMDG 737-700 (without W/L) after takeoff i ran into a real problem. i couldn't get the bird past 4000ft! and it just couldn't reach its cruise speed. anything over 180kts is just to much of a struggle for her to get passed. i thought "huh thats strange?" so i tried changing the fuel load to 1/3 and the same with the payload but still no fix...and when the bird stops climbing it develops a very ugly nose over pitch as if she was incr…
