How should one perform a go around when performing an visual approach? When A/P and A/T are turned off the controls are left for the pilot. Will TO/GA work when A/P and A/T are turned off? Geir

Hi all, have been using the (utterly amazing) 737NGX 800/900 from PMDG alot since purchasing recently. I now have a new problem / bug issue. The brakes and parking brakes when used using the default "." and "CTRL + . " commands do not work at all - when I press these commands, there is no response, and I cannot set park brake or brake the plane when its rolling. The commands work absolutley fine on other planes (default, other payware, etc), I haven't changed anything at all, I am using FSX accelerator with latest SP. This is only a recent problem - it used to work fine with this plane. Has anyone experienced this problem, or know why this is happening? …

  3. Hi all - per the topic, I need some tips on how to do a consistently smooth localizer intercept with the NGX. My normal ops procedure is to hand fly the NGX from takeoff to around 10,000 ft, and the to hand fly from around 10,000 ft to landing. If I may say so myself, I am very proficient when it comes to landing, I can stay on the gildeslope (not more than one dot deviation) maintain vref speed, and put her down on the center line. My problem is making a smooth intercept to the localizer, I always seem to turn too early or too late which neccesitates more turns to actually make the intercept. Is there a rule of thumb RW pilots use to avoid the embarrasing "wing w…

  4. Hi everyone, Now im guessing this question has been asked before, because upon using a google search theres lots of information flagged up from this forum but the links are dead, so apologise in advance if this has already been covered; Ok, so heres my info and problems; I recently completely re-booted by laptop with the intention of solely using it for FSX + PMDG 737NGX. I am running windows vista. I installed FSX using the guidelines set out by PMDG. I installed FSX as follows. installed to C:\FSX. Then followed the guidelines on installing the SP1 and SP2. Rebooted the laptop etc. Upon trying to install the PMDG 737 package the installation wizard starts t…

So, it's time for me to ask for help from you all... Note: I would appreciate any and all RTFM and other related comments, provided you point me in the right direction. My issue is that since one of the service packs, I have not once seen any brake temp indication during my flights. Furthermore, I have not experienced a service-based failure, or an RF indication on the hydraulic panel. My main concern is the brake temp. I have used aircraft with both steel and carbon. I have flown them on turns (meaning I've sat around after the landing to simulate a turn, which would be enough time to have the indication pop up), and I have strained the brakes on some rat…

  6. Hi everyone I would like to ask about topic title. what are the differences between these two modes? when do they occur? what do they mean? they always show up on the fma ( flight mode annunciator). in addition tell the same about vnav alt, please. I think these 3 modes are only in subject to vnav. when i get this described I will see everything clearly so this very important thing to me which is related to flying 737-800 ngx, without it I am flying but I don't understand what is happening. Pleaseee help me, any answer will be appreciated

  7. Hi guys. I can not get my 737 NGX to accept gear down in speeds over 245 kts. This problem suddenly showed itself during a descent. Had the same problem with my old pc and other Boeing add-ons, but now I have a new pc. My .dll file contains nothing but FSX Accelration and PMDGs 737 NGX(including your last update for this add-on). I have allready tried one complete reinstall, but that got me nowhere. What might be the cause, and how can I fix it?

  8. hiI now a good beta version of a OpenCockpits IOCP Client for NGX up and running at my computer. Some small issuses to solve, but those should be corrected later today. The IOCP Client is a "lekssecon" for NGX for those of you who knows Nico Kaan's excellent program for the LevelD 767.The IOCP Client have now only MCP functionallity, but I will integrate other modules later via special plug-in modules to the Client. My work could not have been done without Nico Kaan's good examples on his site and Johan Knol C++ code examples. The IOCP Client is fully based on the PMDG SDK.I have to make sure I handle the PMDG SDK EULA correct before provinding it to the community. I will g…

  10. Hi allWhere do I startJust did a flight and had the same problem befotre. I thought there is a prob with that flight that day or maybe I made a mistake when entering the data that day.Just now I had exactly the same problem.I flew EGPK to EDDT. After some time into the flight I got the msg on the FMC 'Unable to CRZ Altidude'Also I had a yellow CWS P on the left screen. The plane was unable to get up to FL350. Before I was able to fly at FL410Bearly making the FL300 which I had to do manually and lost a lot of speed with that the plane was weaving from left to right and didn't hold course with LNAVa s if we had high winds but we only had 5 knotsat altitude. Nothing to writ…

Today a strange thing happened to my NGX. I searched the manual but I found no reference. In two words: altitude FL340, I press the CRZ, my intent is to to change the quota from 340 to 360. So I set 360 the LSK1, but now I'm able to see only a gray screen with 5 squares. I write 36000 and automatically appears the LED on EXEC button. I press EXEC and now automatically page DES appears without the cruise altitude changed. Try again but nothing. on RTE page, all points of the route reports wrong quota as speed.. and as if I had started from altitude 0. Finally, even, the point T / D has disappeared from the route. Have you an idea about this? T…

Hello guys, I've flown this tutorial many times and every time "I" program the route (...hopefully according to the tutorial), I have this issue at the RTT NDB. Screen shots attached. When I load Ryan's saved start-up points, I don't get this issue so I am confuffulated as to what pilot interface error is.... For enquiring minds, when I fly this, the aircraft enters a strange hold (or is it?), the magenta line disappears, then I have to do a direct to the OEV in order to continue. So can anyone tell me what am I doing wrong please? BTW I am using AIRAC 1113 A thousand thank yous!

I have been working with the FSCaptain team for some days now trying to figure out why their gauge is the ONLY gauge that will not display (or load) in my NGX. I get a blank or black window only. I have a pretty robust hardware/software for FSX/NGX but can not get this gauge to work. Grasping at straws now and hoping someone else here may have had this problem and can lend some insight. Thanks Joe
