I usualy don't post much outside of the livery availability thread since I spend so much of my time painting and posting there. I do take a break and fly every once in a while. I thought I would share some of these screen grabs I took flying from Lubbock, TX (KLBB) to Houston Hobby (KHOU). I decided to fly my Braniff Orange livery and it was a late afternoon arrival. While FSX does not take advantage of all the high end graphics that other games enjoy, it's amazing how well it can look based on the technology used. All animations work perfect in the NGX, however when I use the instant replay, the video is fine but NONE of the animations work. No flaps, no reversers etc. They work perfectly in the original landing, But if I want to make a video the plane lands clean. I've searched the topic, but the comments do not apply to my situation. I got no acceleration and running Sp2 on Win 7. They work perfectly in all other aircrafts. Chemanuel

In this topic I will invite people to join me flying online on VATSIM. I will try to post as early as possible so you can prepare and join. My posts about planned online flights will start with the date so people will know which day that particular flight will take place. The estimated departure time will always be ZULU time. This is the time when I will plan to commence pushback and engine start.

Not sure if anyone's noticed this, but there are some misaligned localizers at various airports, the ones that I've seen so far are Runway 22R at JFK Airport in New York (KJFK) and Runway 36 at Naha Airport in Okinawa, Japan (ROAH) Here: http://berz.me/pics/...21-22-04-16.png , and here http://berz.me/pics/...21-22-04-53.png you can see the plane coming in for a misaligned landing. Doing the autoland, the airplane will follow the localizer according to how it is programmed incorrectly, running straight into where it's shown in ADE as the stock airport. Hi Folks, So, last night i decided to make my operations in the NGX a lil More realistic, instead of doing the defualt thing when i programme my route on the FMC, and just putting Direct (Airport) i decided to actully plan a flight with a good website which plans it for you ETC, and got all the waypoints The route was EGGP-EGSS (via the waypoints) anyway, there i was, flying along, and i reached my first waypoint, NANTI(if my memory serves right), all very well, but then ATC directs me Further East, meaning i hit the parralels to the other waypoints, but not actully "hit" them, and as for the STARS, they were just not being followed, i was very dissapoin…

The last couple of flights i have gotten quite strange fs crashes... In mid air fs freezes and when it comes back the vc is gone and the plane is completely transparent... The 2d panel still works, so the last time i tried to land using the 2d panel but when i was about to touchdown i noticed that the airport was gone! Just grass... No buildings or runways at all... No error messages or anything, has anyone got a possible solution for this? Best wishes Niklas Eriksson

I've noticed that a lot of people are very realistic when it comes to flying the NGX. Some people go on the airline they are going to fly's website then look up their route, then see which aircraft they use on that route and which callsign to use. For me, I go as far as going on Wikipedia, looking up the airport, then seeing if XXX airline flies to where I want to go. I started using real callsigns a couple of weeks ago, but I don't think I'm going with the real aircraft thing since I don't have a lot of payware airplanes. How about you?

Can anyone else have a look at this and give me feed back. Since I installed the new update my RTA functioned is blanked out and I am unable to enter a waypoint into the RTA. Might be a NGX reinstall for me. IM

Should the brake temprature be 0 after landing? I was hoping the brake disc would be glowing (showing a bit of heat), a bit like you get on the 747 Queen of the sky?

Hello all. First post here... Returning from nearly 30 years of absence from the sim community. subLogic Flight Simulator II for the Apple //e. Yikes! HELP... I downloaded the newest airac data from navigraph for PMDG (PMDG_1204), got it installed... The FMS shows the proper dates but the scratchpad is showing the nav data is not current. I saw a post where someone suggested the fmc_ident.txt file should be changed, but it appears as follows: [ident] NavData=AIRAC-1204 OpProgram=APR05MAY02/12 CoData=EAG-1204 Looks OK to me. Any ideas to make the pesky message disappear? I know it's cosmetic but it makes me wonder whether I have the update proper…

Pilots, Im flying tutorial 2 so far so good. I am using REX 2.0 as weather engine and I wonder how I can find out data like winds aloft etc. The tutorial only refers to AS which I dont have. Any thoughts are appreciated. Nic

This will sound ridiculously simple to most of you....I was entering the route for Tutorial 2 NGX but missed an airway so I went back to insert it but couldn't. Same issue with waypoints and I couldn't delete discontinuities. How the hell do I modify routes or legs? Sounds stupid but at my age I'm getting use to it. Thanks guys Grandpa

Hello, First I would like to thank all the hard working PMDG team for giving us such amazing pieces of art, we really appreciate all your efforts, and are looking forward for the 777 and 747v2 and many other projects. I have a quick question (and I'm not sure if this topic has been discussed before) is there any way to put traffic cones when the airplane is at the gate (like one at the end of each wing and one on the aft part). Like some others, I "used to" get great graphics performance on my i7 2600K 4.73ghz box (see signature bar for hardware config) - when all at once I encountered TERRIBLE PEFORMANCE landing at Flightbeam Studios' KSFO-X airport in my PMDG 737NGX at night. Stuttering, momentary freeze-ups, just awful, similar to when I had loaded Aerosoft's US Cities -San Francisco pack on top of Flightbeam Studios' KSFO-X. I began to run down all of my settings in FSX and found there are a MYRIAD number of places to alter settings, from FSX.cfg on up to some of the aftermarket products.
