PMDG 737NGX | 737NGXu

I installed the 737 NGX 800/900 SP1b expecting to find the Tutorial 2 in the PMDG folder in the start menu programs and it was not there. I downloaded and installed the SP1b again and it still is not there. I did set the SP1 exe to run as administrator. Any ideas what could go wrong? Can I download the Tutorial 2 from somewhere as a standalone document?

Hi Ryan, or anyone from PMDG. I've sent Ryan(TABS) an email but got no answer yet, I know you guys are busy! So I thought, that I would write here :-) I just flew some flights, testing the failures and keeping me up to date, and got a FCC_A INOP and FCC_B INOP failure during climb out. Nothing "unusual" there, besides its a failure, but I then tried to correct the plane from banking slightly to the right, so I made a small input on the aileron trim switch. Instantly the a/c banks violently to the left. This only happens when these two are failed, when everything is operating nothing happens when making the exact same input. And goes for both ways. Hi! I have a small question... I have just gotten my Samsung Galaxy Tab and I want to have my NGX checklists and such to read in the tab so i dont have to minimize FS to read... My problem is... in the Quick Reference Handbook... I cant navigate by pressing the topics in the list of contents(that aint possible in the original pdf file either) So my question is... How do you guys navigate in this document? I think its very hard to fint the appropriate page quickly... In the past there were a severeal shift keys to go quick from i.e. the CDU to a different view. Now there are only the keys Shift 6 till 8 availabel. The keys Shift 1 till 5 doesn't work anymore. How can I repair this. Thank you in advance. Henk Scheffer

Are you guys filing when online? The real B738 will go /Q most of the time... I had been filing that but realized we can't really do RNP on this plane can we? So then I filed /E for dual FMS. What are you guys filing?

Hi everyone, I have seen many HD pictures of the NG's cockpit, and in the night pictures the cockpit lighting is different from the NGS's cockpit lighting system. The basic difference between the two lighting is the colour of the light. In the real NGs it is orange coloured. Somehow the NGX doesn't reflect the real NG's lighting. I think many of the customers asked this... not here, but in IVAO's foruml (just for saying an example) there many comments stated that the answer for these notes can be found in the digital cameras because they don't show the real, cameras distort a lot and the lightings are not orange-coloured actually. Having read Ryan's second tutorial I now realise why PMDG recommend using the FMS for fuel planning. I have also read quite a few posts where people have stated that using the FMS in this way, is not realistic. I agree with those sentiments and on reflection I think this is due to the fact that as you alter your fuel quantity, as part of the calculation, you see the fuel being instantly added or removed.If the NGX had a refuelling option (as does the MD11), then it would be possible to use the FMS for fuel calculations without fuel being added or removed. Once a fuel figure is arrived at, then the correct amount can be added by using the refuelling option. For me this wou…

Dont shoot me guys, this question might have been asked already. I appreciate the level of detail which describes the fuel calculation method in tutorial 2 but I dont have that much time for calculations. I wonder if there is a good program available to calculate fuel load? Is the build in fuel planner in topcat any good? Thanks. Nic

I would love it if anyone could make a repaint of the NGX 737-600 or -700 in Braathens colours! There is no such repaints available today, and I many would like one :)

A bit off topic, but many knowledgeable folks gather here, maybe someone can help me out... I think it's the first time I am flying out of ENGM (Oslo Gardermoen), and most probably, the last. As I am flying the TOR6B SID after taking off from RW01R, I started to notice weird spikes all around me. The first one appeared around RUVAS intersection, but that was just a slim spike. But many other, bigger, taller ones followed, seriously jeopardizing the safety of the flight... But seriously, is it only happening to me or is it a known bug with the mesh? I am not using any third party mesh for the area. Here it is...

Hi all fellow NGXers, can someone with rw experience/knowledge in relation to the 738W NG point me in the right direction pls? How does one know what flap setting to use for both t/o and landing? Is there a "definitive" chart or guide? I understand that there are several factors/parameters at play (ie wind, weight, etc). I just got myself AES and was palying around with it trying to set it up for the NGX. I got everything going good until i noticed the aircraft bouncing on pushback. So i used the option within AES that adjusted the static pitch and static cg heights within the NGX cfg file. So my question is, what effect, if any, does this have on the NGX? Im assuming none, but i just want to be sure. Thanks Adam

The last couple of flights i have gotten quite strange fs crashes... In mid air fs freezes and when it comes back the vc is gone and the plane is completely transparent... The 2d panel still works, so the last time i tried to land using the 2d panel but when i was about to touchdown i noticed that the airport was gone! Just grass... No buildings or runways at all... Is it possible to disable the 2D panels?? What happens if I edit the panels.cfg and comment out the gauges or remove the panel info att the top for the 2D panels?? Will the NGX go crazy? I only run in VC with Ezdoc. The only 2D I use sometimes is the FMC during flight, not during planning then I zoom in to it in VC. Just wonder, I have the 32-bit WinXP Prof. and need all power I can get. Why I ask is that in the Performance settings via FMC I lowered the 2D settings down to 5 and if I am not completly wrong I gained 5-8 FPS in overall. Anyway I could taxi around at Mega Heathrow with a lot smoother feeling, FPS was up around 20+ during taxi to runway. With…

I am really considering reinstalling this and all the addons because I really enjoy it, however my rig is so weak I think it'll be unplayable! My rig is now core i5 760 @ 3.2ghz 4gb ddr 3 ram gtx 560ti will it be playable with this machiena nd if so what settings shall I use? I am going to turn off all AI traffic because i just want to learn this thing, but it's a MASSIVE download to get everything again and...maybe it'll be too slow to actually enjoy.. addons would be fsx + addon utx, gex, rex

Got an interesting ATC request on Vatsim last night, flying out of PDX towards BOI the twr cleared me to take off rwy heading for 9000ft on approach's freq. So I took off and approach immediately wanted me to intercept a VOR heading (out of BTG VOR)and then follow that to join an airway J15. I asked for a vector, but I could have made it I reckon, with some I help from the enroute charts on skyvector. I do remember how to fly VOR-VOR, but I was wondering is there any "intercept BTG on radial 100 to intercept J15" capability in the FMS? (BTW don't kill me if you're from PDX I got the heading wrong, can't remember exactly :Big Grin: )

Hey fallows, today i flew a traffic pattern at gatwick, online, and when i already landed, i got a massage: "fsx stopped working" ok, afterthat i did another flight from zurich to innsbruck, online, i got right in the beginning, another massage and i had to close the fsx, so i tried another flight the very same one, and when i landed at innsbruck i got another one. what can i do about it? please help me with the frustration, all the flights were with the NGX, i didn't do any special things before, i have just installed some new liveries (8) but i don't hink that's the problem.. thanks!
