PMDG 737NGX | 737NGXu

  1. Hello all, In order to dig out an other issue with FMC data I started today a data analysis via Excel and found out by chance that there is a tremendoes amount of runways (2626) that are shorter than 3000 ft being included in the originally delivered NGX navdata. I checked a few of those fields and found quite some with grass surfaces or even "gravel in poor condition" (runway lenght 950 ft, P2Z3, Eva Creek). Ok, I know that there is e.g. the PMDG Jetstream 4100 using the same data that might land in more remote areas but even this bird would not be satisfied with such fields. I can remember that it was possible to blend out all runway lengths shorter than 3600 ft…

I just got a new computer, running Win 7 64-bits. As suggested in the NGX Introduction, I tried to install FSX directly in the C:\ folder as opposed to the default Program Files (x86) folder; however the installer would not let me do it; when I clicked on the Browse button and navigated to the C:\ level, it was grayed out. Prior to running the setup file, I deactivated my anti-virus, went into the setup.exe file on the DVD and changed the privilege level to run as an administrator. I also may have changed the compatibility mode to Windows XP SP2, but not sure if I did. I did that for some other programs, but don’t remember if I did for FSX or not. So, what did I …

Hi all, I've been flying the NGX now for the past few months and it's been a great experience, but just yesterday when loaded up the aircraft, I noticed that when I moved my mouse there was a delay with the movement of the mouse cursor on screen, and I usually had to press things twice for them to activate. This happens mostly when the FMC is up (Shift + 3) but it also happens in flight and on the ground. I get on average around 16 fps in the VC, I've tried replacing the batteries in my mouse ( my mouse works fine outside of the simulator), restarting the simulator and my computer, but nothing has worked. Any suggestions?

Shouldn't there be an audible warning for the center pumps low pressure (when the center tank goes out of fuel)?

Dear all, I experienced some problems while descending into KSJC via the ROBIE3 arrival, I programmed the FMS to cross a specific waypoint on the arrival at 8000, LNAV and VNAV were engaged. The aircraft crossed this specific waypoint at a way higher altitude and a message showed up in the FMS "DESCENT PATH UNACHEIVABLE" so I ended up being too high to intercept the Localizer runway 30L, what could be causing the problem, need your help and advice please.

There has been a lot of press recently from Boeing on 737-900ER Sales. I hope PMDG is getting close to releasing this model because I already have a list of routes to fly with this baby. http://boeingblogs.com/randy/archives/2011/11/the_sweet_spot_1.html

I have this unchecked, the fsx setting, engine stress causes damage. To get the service based failures with the ngx to work correctly, is this supposed to be checked or unchecked?

  8. I know you guys say the NGX is the most realistic bird designed, and I concur. But do you how even more realistic it is with a virtual GoPro? Check it out!

Hi, Newbie on the forum, but recently purchased the NGX and it looks cool, but doesn't work properly. I have an iMac 2.66 GHZ 20" screen, running XP via Bootcamp. I use a Saitek Pro Flight Yolk and single Throttle Quadrant (all works on stock planes and Wilco Evo Vol 1). If I load the plane fully standard config, all is fine, but as soon as i change fuel or load cold and dark panel state, engines shutdown, and when I fire them up again, they spool up to idle, but advancing the throttles does not change engine state. I can see the throttles move in the VC mode, I have registered FSUIPC and when launching the monitor, I can see FSUIPC registering throttle m…

An updated STAR now requires an altitude between 16000 and 14000 at a particular waypoint. Is it possible to enforce this (as written) in the FMC or a way of using /16000B and /14000A together? In this descent, using only the "above" would work most of the time but an ATC "hold" or manual intervention prior to the waypoint could change the descent profile. Thanks in advance for any help :-)

Hi looking for some advise on this as it is becoming a pain when I fly pretty much any route for some reason at some point the position trend vector line will go to almost 180deg turn without any input from me whilst flying a flightplan.this causes the a/c to exceed bank angle with the associated warnings and invariabley an lnav and sometimes, autopilot dropout. It does seem to occur when rex essential uploads latest weather although the trend will turn regardless of wind direction. As I'm fairly new to the ngx I've not been putting wind speed and directions into the fmc plan I use fs commander for my flight plans and I have the latest registered fsuipc installed any…

Greetings This maybe a basic question, but….. YSCH (Coffs Harbour, Australia) VOR or NDB plate. The plate indicates to fly over the VOR/NDB at 3100 flying 193, fly for 3 minutes, then turn to 001 descending to the runway. 001 degrees places you way off track for the center line of the runway. Can someone explain why this is the case. I must be missing something rather fundamental in the use of this plate. I have attached a copy of the plate for reference. Thank you, Iain

In the SDK of the 737NGX i dont see any reference to display the lines of the CDU like the new SDK of the ifly 737, o am very interested on this feature. Regards from Spain Carlos Montoro

Hello everyone, I am looking for some assistance in using the saved flight facility. I find that my hand flying needs brushed up a bit so tonight flew from London to Glasgow in the 737NGX and at the final approach I saved the flight for further use. I exited FSX and reloaded. I went to the saved flight section in MSFS where the flight was saved but could not execute. I then tried the saved section in the 737 and the flight was showing saved in it but again I could not execute the flight. Harking back to FS9 the saved flight took you to the point where you saved the flight and you started from there. I hope I have described the situation clearly. Can someone please point…

Team, Got a really annoying problem which is spoiling my enjoyment of this fantastic aircraft. When flying (normally only in the cruise although does occasionally happen at other points in the flight) FSx hangs for exactly 8 minutes, with the sound still playing and then continues as if nothings happened. No fatal error, no CTD, no blue screen of death, just hangs. This can happen once, or can happen multiple times, there appears to be no pattern with this (which to me makes no sense). I have a moderate system (please see below): Windows 7 64bit AMD Phenom II 3.40ghz processor 8gb RAM 640gb HDD ATI Radeon HD 5800 graphics card I have tried everythi…

I made a video using the NGX and oh man do I love this bird. Pretty smooth flying, but when recording I dip a bit, cause FRAP has to kill the fps. One thing I've noticed with the NGX is the kindof laggy, such as the Alierons and stuff like that.

  17. Hey all- I had a good flight last night over in eastern Australia. I have a few things crop up that got my attention but I managed to complete the flight and all was well. However, I am curious to know how to correct the situation should it rise again: 1) After departure and good level flight / trim, I punched on the LNAV / VNAV and CMD A/B. The flight director was flipped on captain side then F/O side. I noticed a few minutes later that the CMD A had turned off and the controlling FD was on the F/O side. If I flipped on CMD A, CMD B would turn off and the F/D would move back to the captain's side. Odd. I couldn't figure out why they both wouldn't stay - …

  19. Hi all Santos Dumont (SBRJ/SDU) is one of the most challenging destinations; hence it's also one of my favorites. Most of the time I fly from Sao Paulo (SBSP), as that route makes an interesting return flight as well. I use the 737-800SFP with GOL painting. I'm getting quite good at landing at SBRJ. Occasional go-arounds due to late cockpit preparations still happen, but that airport requires you to be pretty precise. I was wondering what limitations there are for takeoff and landing at SBRJ, and searched this and other forums for answers. This is what I ended up with: SBRJ T/O Only RWY 20L/02R Tail Wind max 5kt Max OAT = 40c Flaps 15 / 25 (15 = best pe…

Hello all, Been having problems with stutters on my PC for a while now and have pretty much nailed it down to the fact that FSX was never installed as well as it could have been according to NickN's guide. So I am going to Un-Install FSX along with its addon's one of which is the NGX. Firstly I wanted to ask if there is a limit to the number of times you can re-install a PMDG product and if so what this limit is? This will be the first time I have un-installed the NGX but just wanted to make sure. I also wanted to ask what is currently the best way to install the NGX and the updates. I kinda lost track of this a bit with all the SP's and hotfixes. Thanks

About 3 years ago i managed to get hold of some real charts used by Easy Jet in Europe. Various stuff from Gatwick to Bonn etc. They are great and i love using them for flights in the NGX and more importantly they work and are functional within the sim. I got them from ebay but is there a way i can get hold of them from another source? I was even thinking of emailing my local airport and seeing what i could dig up? Or would i just be wasting there time? Can anyone help? Sorry should have posted this in the general forum.
