  2. Hi, I am trying to get some joystick buttons to be assigned to Autopilot 1 and Autopilot 2. So these are two separate buttons on the joystick. However, when I try to do this via the FMC, it seems to only accept keyboard hotkeys and not the buttons from my joystick. Also, via the FSX settings I can only set the Autopilot Master, which is Autopilot 1 in the NGX. What can I do to get this to work? Thanks.

  3. Just a quick question fellow NGXers, I've noticed that there is a 5 degree plus variation between the heading indicated on the HGS as compared to the Nav Display heading. Can anyone clarify please? ie: How to rectify this? Please refer to attached snapshot.

    Where can I get charts to make sure the waypoints, etc. are done correctly? And how does everyone know which 'departure' vector to go on, there is usually many per airport, or even many per runway. Every time I build a flight plan it takes me absolutely nowhere near where I set the plan to go. I don't understand why it does that because I feel like I select the right things, but for example, I don't know an airway to use between PHX and LAX. And then on top of that, even if I do, it all gets messed up by the end, because whatever I do, I pick the wrong thing, so instead of this vector I pick 'that' vector and that ruins the whole plan. It's dumb, can anyone help a newbie …

    I have calibrated a button on my throttle quadrant to control the landing gear and now the nice tire snubbing sound isn't working when raising the gear. I've tried it a few times, same issue. Any reason this could be happening? Best

    Hi guys, need some help since I could not find (i' m sure it's out their) the answer to following: Start cold and dark turn on battery connect ground power and verify that AC 400 hz available turn both IRS from OFF to align the right IRS does not extinguish the "on DC" light in a few seconds the bip-bip sounds only when i turn the APU on and connect power does the bip bip go away why? what am i doing wrong, why is the on DC light stays on when ground power is connected? Hi all, ever since installing a couple of new liveries (American Airlines, Southwest, TUIfly; all from the PMDG website) I'm having this strange issue when taking off with flaps 1 and when selecting flaps 1 on approach, respectively. This flaps setting produces a very huge amount of lift and drag. For instance, on climb out, I'm used to lower the nose just a couple degrees in order to accelerate towards flaps up speed. Lately, with these new liveries installed, I have to lower the nose significantly below the horizon to even start accelerating. This only happens with flaps at the 1 position. Flaps 5 is fine.     Hey all, Since that I am the owner of the PMDG 73/6/7/8/9NGX I dreamed about making my own paint. So one day, I did that. And almost immediatly after I started I realised that the texture is really hard to understand. For example: The doors on both ends seem to be placed incorrectly and the tail cut-out are also not equally placed.... It's really frustrating me that the painting abilitys get limited by the strange texture layout. Also, If I would like the bottom of the 737 to be like the British Airways (Virtual), It get's all wrong at the back!!     I'm a newbie on this jet and to airliners in general, just purchased the 737NGX along with the FS2crew addon, the only other addons I have installed are FSUIPC (newest version) and REX-E I've been practicing the training missions and was using #2 before takeoff. My left landing gear stuck down , both red and green lights are on. Verified the gear fail with external nose cam view. I've tried cycling the gear but it's jammed. I'm not sure how this happened as my takeoff was very smooth. I don't have failures turned on and just double checked the FMC but can't even find a landing gear failure listed. Also the FMC is saying current failures: None. Not sure if …

    Greets, Starting from cold & dark, with and/or without ground power, starting the APU is successful, the blue light enables but clicking to couple the APU generator to the bus does nothing. Also, there is no air pressure noted. I've followed tutorials 1 & 2, and cannot figure out what I am missing. Has anyone had this issue? I appreciate any help that may be offered. Thanks Chip B.

    I went to fly my PMDG NGX today as I usually do on my day off and I get confronted with this...(I have been using it almost a year now) So I dug and found my old email and entered the activation code and got this.... Anyone ever run into this? Only thing I have done to FSX in the last day was I went to install the Alaska Airlines 700 paint and forgot I had already installed it. So I cancelled the installer and then went to fly....lost on what to do. I submitted a ticket but just wanted to get some feedback from the users?

    Hello everyone! I found myself trying to make this low altitude route. MKJP-TNCM SID chosen ENEKA FIVE to ENEKA but when I try to input G633 airway FMC gaves me the "invalid input" message. I know that could be a different databases problem (My NGX use 1108 default) Could anyone here gave my the correct route to my 1108 version?     Am I stupid, missed something, or just plain forgetful? I'm like 100% sure that my NGX landing lights, the retracteable ones should visibly move on the ground as they are extended but turned on before fully extended? Better said, if turned on, before fully extended, there is animated effect on the ground visible as lights move. Mine currently don't. Moreover, my taxi lights are barely visible! Same with the runway turnoff lights. Both are barely visible on the ground when turned on. Is my FSX installation bad or something cuz I'm right now pulling my hairs!?     What's the best way to do a steep descent in the NGX? Say I'm flying level at 16,000 feet, at 240 kt, no flaps, and want to descend as quickly as possible to 3000 to pick up an ILS. (I know about planning ahead, but some STARS require a sharp descent in a limited distance.) If I set 3000 in my altitude window and click LVL CHG, the descent is too slow for what the STAR requires. But if I click VS and set a faster rate of descent, my speed shoots up to 300 kt or more, which will also be a problem. Strangely, if I activate the speed brakes, the speed seems to rise even higher.   20. B737-800NG will not exceed 200 KIAS or climb to altitude set in FMC during initial stages of Tutorial 1 flight from EGKK to EHAM. FMC & MCP setup as per Tutorial 1... Both F/Ds: 'ON' AP CMD A: 'ON' A/T: 'ARM' LNAV: 'ON' VNAV: 'ON' N1 'ON' Tried turningg A/T off and advancing throttles to full: Speed does not increase above about 208 Knots.   21. The other day I was given a hold at RTT NDB on the Innsbruck approach. To my surprise when I pressed "hold" there was a pattern already determined by the FMS saying "active route holding". I could not find the proper LSK to press though, to actually activate the holding, and I had to fly couple of lame circles before I actually was able to reprogram the holding requirements and entered the pattern. I found a tutorial by Fred Steiner here in the forum but for some reason the pictures were gone and I could not understand the procedure. I have conducted some simulator sessions at high altitude airports, namely KDEN (Denver, CO) and KJAC (Jackson Hole, WY), where I reach 10,000 feet much more quickly relative to most other U.S. airports. At 10,000 feet, in compliance with FAA regs, I start the acceleration from 250kts to climb speed and turn off the landing lights. I have always wondered what happens in the real world. Do they still perform these tasks at 10,000ft ASL (above sea level), or do they wait until 10,000 AGL (above ground level)?   23. Hello, I have this situation and it just happens this week,as I can recall. It only occurs with the PMDG B737 series. I have tried all the other a.c. from PMDG and the a.c. from FSX but it is only B737. When I load the aircraft it loads with the parking brakes set. Pressing the dot (.) does actually releases the parking brakes, but the text remain there. Applying ctrl+. does engages the parking brakes, so it functions. How can I make the text disappear when the parking brakes are released?? It is just annoying for I have to check whether the are released or not. Carlos

    I know this is a topic that is going on for a long time now, in fsx, pmdg 737ngx and hardware forums. I just wanted to know if there are any users, who have been able to setup the hardware and software in such a way, that they can switch from vc cockpit to external views as often as they want, without getting a fsx freeze or ctd. I am getting very reasonable results now with my setup, but I have to be very careful not to overdue with different views. I am using ezdok without TrackIR, but changing views more then a few times always results in fsx freezing, after a few minutes.
