PMDG 737NGX | 737NGXu

  1. Started by Woc,

Hi captains, I'm wondering if there are a way to know the frequency of a VOR displayed on the ND when you switch on the STA (station) button on the EFIS. In the 747 is possible to get this info by simply ente ring the VOR name in the CDU nav page. But 737... Thanks in advance.

  2. Hi airmen, I used the FSX with NGX aircraft on a Windows XP computer and all the NAV setup for MCP and FMC get stored after saving the flight. Now I`ve got a new PC run by windows 7 with the same PMDG software and when I am closing the flight, -even stored- the complete Nav-steup is withdrawn at the next reopening of this flight! Does anybody knows help? Best regards, Peter

  3. Started by tango4,

Hi everyone, I come here looking for help regarding engine out procedure during the takeoff phase. What I'm wondering is if ENGINE OUT VNAV is modelled in the NGX. Here is my problem: I fly my take off with LNAV and VNAV modes armed. In the CDU takeoff REF page2, I have the following altitudes: ACCEL HT 3000ft, REDUCTION 1500ft, and EO ACCEL HT 800. I simulate an engine out at V1. When I rotate, the FD command bars make me accelerate towards V2 and keep that speed (correct behaviour as per the flght manual, it is not supposed to accelerate towards V2+20 as for a standard takeoff). Reaching 400AGL, the autothrottle disconnects, and that's when things start goi…

First it said the cfg was read only and I let the manager change remove that but liveries dont install even though when I click install livery the dialogue showing the textures being copied shows up. When i reopen the livery manager, it says the file for the livery is there but there are no textures what should I do? Fsx is installed in c/apps/msfsx and I run everything as admin I hav win 7 home premium 64bit

  6. Started by Brett Nicholls,

I offend wondered why when I taxied out from the gate that it did not seem to take much throttle to get the 737 to move but when on the runway( now I turn on Auto brake) I would advance upto 40%, hardly move then once I had advanced to say 50% plus she would start to move. I discovered that setting the Autobrake to RTO puts the brakes into action. According to my 737 Checklist Autobrakes the be set to RTO during the Preflight Proceedure. So is the Autobrake supposed to apply brake when engaged on the ground? If there is something I'm not doing or should be doing please let me know. As you can I'm not one to always follow a checklist. I must work on this Thanks in adva…

Hello All, As a seasoned simmer I came across something today I was totally unaware of. Normally when loading the FMC i put the airways on the left side and the waypoints to the right side, however, whilst browsing through one of the PMDG Tutorials it was stated that you could list all the airways on the left side and the right side would be automatically loaded with the waypoints except for the last waypoint which has to be entered manually. It is totally amazing how the PMDG Team go the extra mile to insert all the features that the FMC can accomplish. Richard Welsh.

  8. Hello, I am a relatively recent owner of the NGX and it's a joy to fly (with FS2Crew). I have also read the manuals (to the best extent that I could comprehend) and done the NGX tutorials as well as Tom Risager's tutorial. In order to make sure I am mirroring the proper real-world procedures, I started watching the JustPlanes WestJet video and had a few questions about how to use MCP modes along with ATC instructions. Apologize if these questions seem basic in nature as I am trying to learn the aircraft plus proper SID/STAR procedures. Climb questions (with SID): I usually arm VNAV mode on the ground itself so that when I takeoff and select CMD A, the aircraft as…

  9. I''ve just purchased the NGX 800/900 base package. Before I go and download the SP1c, can someone tell me if that has now been rolled into the base package? Thanks for your help. I've recently built a new ivybridge system: Asus Z77 MB Asus GTX 670 8 GB Ram Corsair vengeance 2133MHz i 3770K over clocked to 4.3GHz (closed loop liquid cooled) 2 X 1TB seagate drives. I upgraded from a C2D 2.4GHz OC'ed to 2.8GHz and I'm thoroughly delighted with the performance. Everything set up according to Nick N and Word Not Allowed. I've been dying to buy this plane for ages...... The time has cometh! Stu

I have recently reinstalled the NGX to a new computer. Everything is working as it should except I've noticed that the port wing in the 700 isn't visible from the VC anymore (starboard wingtip is there). Anyone with an idea. Corrupt install? Not a big deal of course but if anyone has a bright idea, I'd be glad to hear it. Regards

Hi all I am running the PMDG 737NGX on a clean install of FSX + SP1 on Windows 7. However when in virtual cockpit I can pan around using space bar and mouse but I can't seem to click anything on the panels. Can anyone help? Many thanks (I have tried running it as system administrator!) Luke Bartey

  12. Is there a real life way of configuring the PMDG NGX for circuit pratice? I.E touch and gos, or go-around pratice? What I mean is how would you configure the CDU/FMC for this. I'm have put my own settings in for now. For example Origin/Des both are the same airport identifier. I put the zero fuel weight in as norma and PERF settings, as I need an idea of rotate speeds, and trim settings. In a nut shell, what is the best flying technique here?

Hello guys, yesterday i took a part in the cross the pond eastbound on vatsim, and wanted to let you know how was my experience with the NGX. i took a charter flight on thomson VA, from KPHL TO EGLL, FL360, took about 7 hours icluding very strong winds from behind above the ocean which became slow and slow to about 16mph. i took the 737-800 GZDT, with 20156 kgs of fuel and landed with 3.8, the plan was 1.8. flew in about .780 mach. it was very slow comparing to the 747, many aircraft passed me, it was very beautiful to see them that close to me. anywho enjoyed it very much! thank you PMDG for making my sim experience that good! cheers.

Hoping someone can clarify this for me. I only fly the NGX. When sitting on the ground at Gate and gathering all the data for the pre-flight (CDU, etc - ie: FS2 Crew), I have noticed that there is a 12 degree variation between what ATIS is calling and what the Nav Display indicates (in addition to what FS RealWX indicates) ? To clarify, for eg right now I'm sitting at YMML Gate C12. I'm using FSRealWX to gather the weather data and send it to FSX. FSRealWX indicates winds 250@05. Nav Display concurs. FSX ATIS however is calling 238@05? This is not the first time I've noticed this incongruity. It is always 12 degrees. I understand it may be MagVar and difference be…

just recently installed 737 ngx. i am running windows on boot camp on a mac. i am just using the track pad and arrows on the keyboard to control the airplane until my controller arrives from ups. my autopilot on the 737 will not come on. i preselect altitude, heading, and speed while on the ground and take off manually. as the plane is climbing i push the nose over to about 1800ft per min climb and try to activate the autopilot. it never come on. is there an update that iam missing? or is plane out of trim?? even after i level off and stabilize the plane the autopilot wil not activate. can someone guide me in the right direction??

Hey guys, I have upgraded my system to this.. Core i5 760 @ 3.4ghz 8GB ddr3 ram GTX 660ti 2gb SSD. I wan't to run... NGX 737 FSX+ Acceleration GEX REX UTX Woai with some light traffic (maybe 10%) No addon airports, no ground traffic, no airport traffic. Should this rig be okay for that? My CPU won't clock any higher than 3.4 and I can't afford a Sandybridge atm. Do you think my experience will be okay?

  21. Good day forum members, I have a small problem after reinstalling NGX. The PFD shows something strange. The red boxes and vertical speed indication. I guess it has something to do with an option inside the overhead or FMC, but I am not sure. I cannot find the fix. Here's a screen. Any help would be nice!

  22. I was just reminded of this while doing some research on a customer ticket: - You can click on LSK 2L on RTE page 1 (next to the empty CO ROUTE field) and it'll display a list of all the routes stored - you don't have to type the name in. - Furthermore, after you click 2L, you can type the first letter or two of the route's name and it'll actually filter the list down to only routes that match what you typed. Same applies to the Load Panel State page too. Neat eh?

  23. I am considering the purchase of the PMDG J41 because I am becoming more and more happy with just short 30m-1h flights, and figured the J41 would be quite perfect for such a role. So, now I am curious on a few questions in comparison with the PMDG 737NGX. I get approximately 18FPS with no stutters when using the NGX, what can I expect with the J41? The livery manager is my primarily used method of getting new liveries, can I use it for the J41, or must I use the method in which you add to the aircraft.cfg and copy multiple files? -Thanks, I felt as though I would get a quicker response if I post here as opposed to the TURBOPROPS section. -Jeremy Chesney

Hi. As the search didn't came back with any answer I'd like to ask if someone know, how to disable the "Panel State Autosave". I already got about 30.000 saved Panelstates at ..(FSX)/PMDG/PMDG737NGX/PANELSTATE, which I don't need at all... 3 saved Panelstates per second... In the FMS PMDG SETUP I can't find a button to disable this feature. Where do I have to look? Thank you Ralf

  25. PMDG 737 NGX doesn't work properly with GoFlight MCPPRO and TQ6-ADV or TrackIR I recently purchased the PMDG 737 NGX for FSX and I am having a difficult time getting it to work with some of my controllers. I have the GoFlight MCPPRO Advanced Autopilot and the GoFlight TQ-6-ADV Throttle System Module. I also have the TrackIR v5 head tracking system. I downloaded the GoFlight PMDG Interface software and installed it. I launch the software only after FSX is running with the flight started. Here are some of the problems I am having with each of the following devices: GoFlight MCPPRO Advanced Autopilot - Autopilot knobs do perform a function in the virtual cockp…
