PMDG 737NGX | 737NGXu

  1. Started by Vulkan,

First, you have to forgive me if this is a stupid question, but I haves searched and I can't find the answer. When i read the FCOM for the 737NGX I encounter an abbreviation that I am not familiar with and that I don't understand: In the normal procedures, there seems to be different procedures depending on AD. What is AD? Example: There are three different NP Before Takeoff. One says "AD2002-19-52 and AD 2002-24-51". The second says "AMOC to AD 2002-24-51". The third says "AMOC to AD 2001-08-24 and AD 2002-24-51 for airplanes with master caution system logic change and automatic shutoff." How do I know which procedure to use?

Hi all, Is there a manual that explains in detail each and every symbol when using the Headsup Guidance System for the 737NGX? I looked over all of the manuals and they do not give detail information about what each and every symbol represents and how to use them. I know some of them but I don't understand why any of the manuals do not explain the HGS in detail. Ken.

I like to fly out of Las Vegas (KLAS) to a variety of cities in the west. Yesterday, I chose a flight from KLAS to Ontario (KONT), below is the flight plan: KLAS BOACH4.HEC ZIGGY4.26B.HEC KONT To fly the ZIGGY4 Arrival correctly into KONT, you have to read the chart as there is a comment at fix DAWNA that reads as follows: VERTICAL NAVIGATION PLANNING INFORMATION Expect clearance to cross at 12,000 ft. The first time I flew this arrival (before looking at the chart), I would have flown the PMDG 737 into the face of the San Gabriel Mountains if I had followed the FMC. So what I did was set up a speed/altitude restriction of 230/12000 at DAWNA to a…

  4. 2 questions Ryan: 1. please refer to this post...was wondering if you could possibly assist with this? http://forum.avsim.net/topic/390571-fs2-crew-window-positions-ngx/ 2. I recently purchased the additional NGX 600-700 series. I noticed that unlike the 800-900, when entering in fuel via the CDU there is no movement from the aircraft (weight differentiation)? Is this correct, or do I have a small issue with the 600-700? Appreciate your assistance. Rgds, Steve

Hi to everyone,I m simply very very happy to be a 737ngx costumer, and trying to give to it a bit more of realism I was asking my self if is possible to config 2 different groundroll sounds, one from 0 to 40/50 kts(mainly taxing) and second one from 50 kts to takeoff speed. ?? I just ask this 'cause I modified my 737 ngx with a third party ground roll sound that is very realistic, but I also found another one with lot of vibration that is also so realistic ,but usually we can hear this second one just on rwy during acceleration .... So to be more clear I have 2 groundroll sounds.....one good for taxing and one good for acceleration on runway ....is it possible to have both…

Aloha. I have the 8/9 series and have installed SP1c. I can see the folder that contains the 900 winglets version of the 737 but the livery installer does NOT recognize that it's there. Only the regular 900. Anyone know why that would be? Thanx! -Rick

Hello guys! I've started my flight with a high CI value, witch gave me a CRZ speed of 0.80M. After a while, i wish to reduce that speed a bit, so i set a lower CI value, during the flight. Notice that all the aircraft system (FMC, speed bug etc...) update the speed to a lower value of 0.796M but the PFD target speed still shows 0.80M. Am i doing something wrong?

Folks, Just something for fun. I am attaching a picture that a friend of mine took recently on a flight of his. He was highlighting the strong head winds he had on the flight that day. BUt my question is, can you guys, just by looking at the photo, figure out the altitude (Flight level) he is at ? Dinshaw Parakh.

  11. Hi, A friend (NGX pilot) is using the SW to shoot some approaches. He noticed a feature that I don't know how to go around. When you load a saved flight, plane fully configured for approach, you of course have to wait the initialization period. How do you go around the problem of the plane not responding and still moving forward on approach. Let's say you save it on short final and then resume it, it's not possible to control the aircraft during the first seconds, and finally once the init is over, the final is over too. Is there a way to resume a flight without the airplane moving, so that you can really resume from where you saved? Without ending up for …

Yesterday I tried a couple of flights over the Swiss Alps. I was flying from Lapaz to Italy. I also tried another similer route. I use Flight Planner in FSX because I like the Air Traffic Control and I have AS2012. On both routes I got to the second or third waypoint and it came up as a Discontinuity. No matter how far forward I went it was the same. I fly the NGX all the time but usually in the US. Iooked at the Magnetic Variation updates and from what I see they are mostly talking about runway position which I do not have issue with. I hate downloading anything I do not need. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Ron

  14. Just bought OpusFSX which includes a camera utility and now I'm trying to find the most realistic viewpoint for the captain's seat. Below is a screenshot showing how I've it setup currently which "feels" about right but would be great if I could get some input or comments from a real 737NG driver if it looks true to life and what you actually see when you're in the real a/c looking straight forward or if it should be more zoomed in/out, higher/lower etc. Thanks a lot in advance!

Hi, for some reason my ngx has started causing CTDs. It seems that the problem is the dll. What is the best course of action, reinstalling or just replace the dll? Skickat från min GT-I9300 via Tapatalk 2

Hi everyone, After so many happy hours on the NGX, I suddenly met a twilight zone problem. I use 99% of the time the B738 with Transavia livery. Last night, I installed the ASA & RAM ones, set up looked fine, PC restarted. I created a flight from the gate with the ASA one, entered data in the FMC as usual, fuel quantity among them (never ran out ot it). FMC suddenly indicated: "not enough fuel". Well, I recalculated: no mistake. Started the flight, initial climb, cruise level. I had a look at the fuel in tanks: it was decreasing dramatically, so fast that 25% would have been missing to reach destination. I therefore stopped the flight. I closed FSX, re…

Anyone out there able to provide some valuable assistance. I use FS2 Crew Button Version with the NGX. When I open the FS2 Crew Main Window in the NGX I have repositioned it permanently in the Top Right Corner (via the panel config using POS=2). The issue I'm dealing with however is that the Sub-Windows for FS2 Crew ie: PA, FA, CFG, VM, etc are opening up in mid-screen, left of screen, etc. Everywhere else but top right corner where I require. PS: I also altered the window position for each sub-window in the Panel config file - but to no avail? Bryan from FS2 Crew could not assist any further and suggested I check both the FSX Panel SDK and PMDG. As far as…

Hi All, Just a quick operations question if I may; I've been wanting to practise the abnormal operations and one I want to try is an engine failure in flight/at V1 and other diversions. I've never tried a diversion at all and can't quite figure out what to do on the FMC to make it happen properly. I enter an airport in the alternate destinations page but always seem unable to make that go through to my current route. If anyone could let me know the proper operation (always interested to know how this is all done in the real world!) I'd be much obliged. Before anyone says it I am working my way through the manuals that came with it but just not gotten to the p…

  20. A couple of months ago I posted about an issue I was having with the NGX and how, when changing views the view would, in a fraction of a second, flash or jump. It is a very odd issue which only showed itself with the NGX. I almost found a workaround by not using the 1/2 Vsync in inspector. I say almost, because the issue was still apparent but not as bad as when running with 1/2 Vsync. So I would fly all my other aircraft using 1/2 Vsync and then change to just standard Vsync in Inspector when flying the NGX. BUT, the issue was still very irritating and I could not find a way to solve it until yesterday. I came to the conclusion that the problem was somehow associated wi…

Hi i have a couple of problems i would like to sort out. When i am approx 10 miles out I have no LOC and GS unless i punch in Approach. The DME doest seem to give me a DME with out approach. When i select Flight plan Vector the ND shows me magnetic headings on the Horizon When i perform single engine work (V1CUT) the aircraft seems to trim the rudder by it self, after TO and pressure released of the rudder pedals. This is highly annoying. I am running a FSX SP2 pmdg 737ngx SP1c

  22. When normally loading the airplane, the VC panel starts and the Initializing countdown starts from 20 to 0. The airplane automatically starts engines and is ready to program the FMC. Everything appears to operate as it should. About every other time, the airplane is loaded in what appears to be, cold and dark. The Initialization countdown from 20 to 0 never occurs. I haven't found the cold and dark checklist to try and see if I can start from this point, I just usually reboot the PC and the next time I load the airplane, it comes up normally with engines running. Is this normal and is there a way I can get it to start the same way every time ? Thanks, Lee

  23. Hi all! please forgive my exasperate tone but I really am at a loss. I am fully aware this thread is dangeriously off topic but I post it here because the issue happened with the NGX and I am unsure wether the plane played a part in it and also (more importantly) because I know how knowledgeable and technically expert the average users of this forum are and so I hope they'll give me a hand. Apologies for the exploitation. This morning I run the windows calibration utility fo my saitek x52 and after that, for some reason the throttle has stopped working properly. It now gets stuck (sometimes straight away, sometimes after a couple of seconds) around 50% and doesn't …

  24. Started by joolsd,

I have just been watching a few videos on NGX engine start up on Youtube. There seem to be a lot of different techniques for start up. I am hoping there are a lot of ways of doing the same thing, but also I guess some of it is wrong. Before start up how should the 4 HYD Pumps be set? People seem to do different things here? Is it a drain on resourses? When starting the engines how high should the N1 be, I noticed on alot of videos that 25% is the choice for ignition. I think I have been starting my engines too low at 20%, maybe thinking of old 737 classic videos. A small thing I guess.

I've noticed when I start the pushback from the FMC the captain can be heard talking to the ground crew. Are there any other times when you can hear the captain speaking ? I've always thought it would be a neat feature if you could hear the Captain and the FO calling out the checklists. Is this possible ? Thanks, Lee
