PMDG 737 NG (Legacy Version)

I'm following the tutorial in the box version of the 737 NG for FS2004. Everything goes fine until final approach. I think there is something missing from the description! It says "The Autopilot will fly the approach" - The plane turns around and begins final app and then it stops following the ILS glidescope and begins to climb again. I think it also switches from APP to LOC again too.Is there a more detailed version of this tutorial around here somewhere? Thanks guys. (Great plane by the way).

Hi to all, some days ago I've read a topic in this forum that now I can't succed to find where a "colleague" have doubts about the correct flight dynamics of PMDG 737 vs. the real bird regarding accelerarion during takeoff run and then about takeoff length itself and for this "based on personal sensations" he decided to modify the engine part of the AIR file....Apart that modyfing the air file based on "personal sensation based on a real flight as passenger" without having precise data to compare semms to me a nonsense I wanted to make an (ampiric) test:I started by using TOPCAT calculator and considering a very demanding situation: a takeoff from Firenze Peretola rwy 05 …

G'day all,I have PDMG running 737-600/700 and also 744.I use navigraph for my AIRAC downloads and have the no CD patch etc for the fs9.Today I bought and downloaded PDMG 738 and recevied a message when trying to install it.."FS9 version 9.1.0.40901 (FS9.1 at least) is required. You only have version 9.0.0.30612. Please install FS9.1 or later to use this product."Would appreciate help regarding the appropriate download as I went to Microsoft and downloaded what I thought was the fs9.1 version and still get the same message....Thanks in anticipation..Davo

After a very long break, I am re-learning the 737 NG in FS2004 and find that while she autolands beautifully every time, the speedbrake rarely ever deploys on touchdown of the mains. After some testing I have concluded that the reason for this could be that during an autoland, N1 only spools down to around 40% by the time the mains kiss the ground and as a result the speedbrake sensor is not triggered because the engine is still considered to be "flying". In contrast, if I do a hand landing and pull back N1 at 30' AGL to the idle stop, N1 is at 30% or 28% by mains touchdown and the speedbrakes then deploy right away. Is my observation correct and is that in fact how spe…

Hi Everyone,I purchased a new computer not long ago and installed FS9 on it. I also installed the PMDG 737 as well. When I load FS9, I can see all the models of the 600 and 700 series. I installed one add-on livery and then tried to add a few more. However, in the simulator in only gives me the 1st add onlivery to choose from. None, of my other add-ons from the site pop up. I am trying to figure out why. I thought it was a registy issue but I'm not sure if thats it at all either. FS9 and vista seems to be a problem for this computer and software. Is there any recommendations that anyone has for this issue I am describing? Thanks in advance for any help!Justin Zaklan

Hi there,Recently (which means, today) I started re-installing FS2004 on my computer because FSX is getting quite slow, and I want to perform a flight I recently had to go on a holiday. We were going to Gran Canaria in a JetairFly 737, and I want to re-enact this flight in Flight Simulator, preferably with a PMDG 737 (like 600, although we flew a 400) and in FS2004 because it never drops below 20 FPS even with PMDG on my machine.I was lucky to had the downloaded files burned on a CD because I lost all my FS2004 files and scenery years ago when getting this new PC and thinking I would never get back to FS2004 again after getting used to FSX.I would like to perform the neces…

I recently had to re-install FS9 and all my add-ons - big task! - and found the only way to get everything to work together again was to run every program as administrator. This worked fine but I've noticed when using the load manager for the 737, while it will run, it won't allow me to add passengers or anything else. It's all at zero. Only when I take it off admin rights does it work again but then it doesn't load any weights into the aircraft when I select it.So any help in this very appreciated.Jon.

  11. I see many airlines have this option and I thought it would be pretty cool to have as Airane design has one, but I have heard too many horror stories about then, that and I have bought everything PMDG has made for FS9. I am a loyal customer.Michael p.

And sometimes more!I have the PMDG 747 for FSX that I have flown almost 500 hours. Since I went back to FS9, I decided to get the 737 since it had so many reviews. I feel like I know what I'm doing. I must be missing something because I cannot get this plane to rotate speed until I am at the end of most runways or already in the grass!I've checked the load manager and changed it to make sure I'm light. All systems are checked per the checklist. What am I missing?

Hi guys! Just a quick question regarding the PMDG 737. Now being someone who has travelled on 737's quite a bit ive noticed someting on the 737 id like to change. My 737 in cruise (and at any stage of flight) in LNAV commands turns of up to 30degrees bank, even on some turns that arent that sharp. Wilco airbus series has programmed their airbus to reduce bank to max 15degrees above a certain speed which is very realistic and makes for a very smooth trip! Im fully aware of the bank limiter on the heading knob but this only affects turns in HDG mode. Also turns are quite "twitchy" if anyone knows what I mean. Very stiff. turns arent smooth and the airlerons appear to bounc…

Having an issue with the 737. The LNAV drifts much like the Gyro of the IRS is drifting. Its like i have a 100kts crosswind, slowly, the angle increases so the computer can compensate and intercept the fix...1) The magdec.bgl replacement didnt work2) Flight1 Registry didnt work3) This error happens everywhere.4) Maybe the AIRAC? ive got 09075) Have the origional SIDs and STARs database.... havent replaced with the latest from Navdata6) The realism settings are set to High, with Gyro Drift DISABLED7) Under the aircraft.cfg line [directional_gyro], its set to the default 3,08) No addon scenery or alot, there isn no differenceI hope someone can help. I searched the entire PM…

According to the 09_AFDS_SYSTEM_737_678900_V14.pdf:Autothrottle: The autothrottle system uses the FMCs to directly control throttle input for maximum fuel conservation. The autothrottle is capable of providing for full flight throttle management from takeoff to rollout.. I must be doing something wrong as the auto-throttle won't reduce speed during approach...I always have to dial in the next flap extension speed, in the MCP, myself. Am I reading the above sentence incorrectly? I select the various flap speeds on the FMC's approach page but the FMC does not seem to reduce throttle? Victor Buck

I have had the B737NG-600/700 in my "stable" for about 5 months now and have nothing but praise for it. I fly it under Southwest Colors. I also recently joined Delta Virtual and discovered in the interest of realism Delta's colors weren't available for the 600/700 so I purchased the 800/900 upgrade as well. Obviously, with a new airframe I flew Delta almost exclusively for awhile and the 800/900 performed flawlessly. However, an upcoming VA Event has me back in the 700 cockpit under Southwest's colors. When I load the PMDG 700 of any livery, not just Southwest, there is an odd "ratcheting" sound from the speakers and the 2D cockpit view has all the gauges blacked out…

I am attempting to start up my enigines and have been having the same issue. In attempt to make sure I'm correctly starting the plane I have pulled up some helpful online videos that show the start up. I beleive everything is right and both engines start up but within 30 seconds of them going on, they both die. Any thougths?I start with a cold start and followed a few videos but no luck. No matter what I do, they start and die.

Ok here's the deal without sounding like a tight &@($*.I am after a 737 for FS2004, a good one and i know PMDG's would be an excellent choice. But i am reluctant to spend nearly $100 Australian on it when i know the NGX is coming out, but thats the problem, nobody knows when?!I dont want to spend that money only to find out the NGX is just around the corner and then have to fork out another $100 plus dollars if it were to be released soon.Explaining that to Captain Kitchen...... well can you see the problem?Dare i say it, should PMDG drop the price on a product that is several years old knowing that the NGX is coming out?I dont know whether to purchase the…

Hi allI am new to the PMDG product so please bear with me.I have recently been given the 737800/900 as a birthday present and loaded into my PC a couple of days ago.Everything seemed to be great until I picked airfields with shorter runways. I have not been trying changing loads, FMS settings etc. just flying the beast to get a feel for it. So I thought I'd take it home to where it was born at Renton and have found that I can't get the beast off the runway, no matter which flap settings I use. Surely out of the box the aircraft will be set at a flyable settings for those who don't want to mess around with manuals to get started!!!According to the FMS the takoff power sett…

Hi there guys:Hoping some 737 guru out there can perhaps enlighten me:I have entered a series of waypoints and altitude constrains for an RNP (required navigation performance) RNAV approach from a chart I have. However, the aircraft seems insistent upon flying the approach in VNAV SPD mode, as opposed to VNAV PTH, even although I have speed well under control and on-target. Is there some trick to VNAV approaches I am missing or is this 737 not too great at them? I haven't done many in the 744, but it seems to be fine. That's my main question - it seems to stick in VNAV SPD mode, rather than VNAV PTH.Secondly, I take it from the PMDG documentation that the aircraft's m…
