PMDG 737 NG (Legacy Version)

Hi,Probably like many others, we are waiting for release of the PMDG B737-800 for FSX. That might take some time but... we have a full size MIP plus Project Magenta so we realy don't need any cockpit visuals. Just the flight model and a way to store the weight & balance from Topcat. Somebody told us that in our situation the PMDG B737-800 for FS9 would work perfectly well.Can someone (preferably from own eaperience) confirm that this is true and if so, suggestion on any special trics on installation would be highly appreciated.Thanks,Dirk van Tongeren / Benno Groswww.b737sim.nl

Hello everyone,I'm still flying and enjoying the pmdg 737-800/900 for fs2004 a lot.Since I'm in the happy position to also earn my money on this type in real lifeit helps a lot as a procedure training tool as well, at least in a lot of areas.However I noticed a few things, which don't seem to work on the pmdgplane but in reality they do.But I'm hoping maybe someone has a solution or fix for that.So here we go:1. On the real airplane u can do a raw-data take-off and still use A/T.With both FD switches off and A/T armed,in reality u can press TO/GA and A/T engages in N1 mode and sets T/O thrust and later on CLB thrust at acceleration altitude.With the pmdg plane, at least o…

To allow hardware users to interface with the PMDG aircraft? is there any chance that an SDK will be released for the Queen at a later date?The driver method that has been employed before is useless and i imagine to time consuming for PMDG to develop drivers for each and every bit of hardware that is on the market, and limits development of further hardware? an SDK that would allow Hardware manufactures to do the work to interface to the software is a far better method, just like as been employed with the Level D 767 and using Opencockpits hardware through interfaces like LEkSEECON.Your aircraft are amazing, but become somewhat…

I recall that there should be a way to change the PFD/EFIS from the standard all-in-one PFD to a "Southwest style" electronic conventional display type but I cannot locate the option to do that. I thought it was in the PMDG drop down menu on the FS menu bar but such an option does not appear there.If anyone has some insight it would be appreciated.Roger Curtiss

Hi guys,While flying 737 I'm experiencing very strange elevator trim behaviour. When pressing button assigned to trim up or down the control surface moves a bit and after about half a second returns to the neutral position. Think I dont have to add how annoying flying untrimmed aircraft could be. Hi Everyone,Last night I upgraded my 737 for FS2004 by purchasing the -800/-900 add-on. The aircraft works great but I am having an issue with the load manager. The -600/-700 part of the manager works just fine but the -800/-900 tabs are where I am running into issues. Whether I select the 800 mixed/single or 900 mixed/single the sliders to add passengers and cargo do not move and I cannot manually enter the number of passengers. Essentially I cannot change the laod in the manager. Anyone have an idea on how I should proceed? I am running FS2004 9.1 on Vista 32bit. I have the PMDG 737 series, B1900C, and 747 installed. Have a few questions about the 737. 1st is there a way to get the light to show up on the wings for the inspection lights instead of using the smoke system? Iv tried to do it myself by just moving the coordinates up to the light section but it does'nt seem to do anything. and 2nd has anyone done any new wing texture that has the black rectangular lines on-top of the wings like SWA has?Thnx for the help peeps.Matt

Hey all, my first post. :(I have a problem though. I am a huge admirer of the PMDG products, but doing a simfly.eu groupfly yesterday on fs2004 multiplayer. I tried to spawn as a 737-700 v-cockpit/winglets and i spawned at KSFO and no button on my keyboard worked. The start button worked so I could minimise fs but not even the pause button worked etc. I use the 744 and 737 and adore them, please help me with this.Also I know my full name isnt displayed, but I am part of another public forum (trials-forum.co.uk) and it has the same template as this, so hopefully I can figure out how to change my display name. :)

Hi all. I have installed PMDG's 737NG in FSX by transferring all aircraft files to simobjects folder. Aircraft looks beautiful against FSX scenery, and everything works well except for the fatal "CG not within tolerance, aircraft unflyable", which indeed makes vertical control impossible. I have tried to use the Load Manager to correct this, but it only works in FS9.Given that his appears to be the only problem in using the excellent 737NG into FSX until a new version is available, does anybody know how to solve this problem?Appreciate anybody's suggestions.Thierry

Hi!Boeing suggests following formula for 737NG-series to be used during approaches until runway threshold:"Vref + 5kn + 1/2 steady wind + full gusts"When using above formula with -800 plus 40 degree flaps on landing during high headwind components we get sort of a mess. The aircraft likes to pitch down, between 2.5-5 degrees as the engines are screaming at 70-85% N1. During such situations you have to fly below the calculated Vapp, in some situations speeds equal to or even below Vref. With other NG-series the formula works all fine, not with -800 (at least with 40 degree flaps, which is reguired in some cases in order to accomplish the braking safely)How do you handle su…

Hi,On 6 March 2009, I purchased and installed PMDG's 737NG Base Package (v1.3) then on 16 March 2009 purchased and installed the 800/900 package (v1.1). Since then, I've installed several liveries in both the 600/700 and 800/900 series. On PMDG's web site under Downloads/Service Updates, the following updates are listed but undated:737TNG V1.2 to V1.3737-800/900 Model Update737-800/900 Service Update 1Obviously, I don't need the first one but do I need to install the two 800/900 service updates or are these incorporated in my version 1.1?Thanks in advance for helping me with this.Jean-Jacques

With 737 TNG, if I fill tanks with MS settings or fspax, the gauges show the fuel quantity loaded for about 0.5 seconds and then to go to zero. I have tried:1. RTFM. Nothing in there that I saw regarding actually filling tanks.2. Load manager. Doesn't have fueling option.3. Turning pumps on/off. Turning xfeed on/off4. Turning APU on/off5. 2D and VC.I literally can't fly this airplane. I did a few months ago, so I know it works, but it simply will not hold fuel. any. at all..-Mike Lawrence4

Hi there, I purchased the PMDG 737-600/700 series in the boxed version and now would like to get the addon to this , the 800/900 series. I have noticed that it is only available as a download. As I always get boxed version for my addons, I was wondering if it would be possible to get a boxed version of this series. Thank you

Hi,I have noticed that my 737NG has started to track parallel too, but half a dot to the left of the localizer beam. This is shown by the LOC dot on the PFD being slightly to the right of center line. Anybody got an expalnation as to why this might be?I wondered if it was something to do with using updated AIRAC data I obtain from Navigraph. As you know, north magnetic pole is shifting in real life and real world AIRAC data will take this into account. Obviously in FS9, magnetic north is staying where it originally was put by Microsoft. I dont quite know how this might cause this problem but it was just a thought.ThanksJohn Earl

hi simmers, this is not speculation on my part, but just a piece of info you should be made aware of. aerosoft, as you will know, are authorised by pmdg to distribute their products. recently i mentioned and bought the book distributed by aerosoft - pmdg 737 you have control- which is a good read, but on back cover is an aerosoft advert for the pmdg 747-400x and the md11 and on the bottom of the page states CRJ and BAE146 coming in 2009. most of you will know who made these aircraft previously, so why are aerosoft mentioning these aircraft. do they know something we dont. a bit of head scratching is needed. richard welsh.
