    Hi Folk'sTried entering a freq on the FMC of 117.90 and got an error message "Entry out of range", tried 117.95, same message. x( Entered a known VOR Ident for 117.90 and that was accepted. Tested lower and upper limits of the nav freq range and only 117.90 and 117.95 were rejected. I assume the FMC software needs a suitable kick in the resistors. :-)Cheers Ron

  8. Hi all,it make a long time I have PMDG products, but I encountered a strange behaviour on the MD-11 for FSX. I've installed md MD-11 on a Windows XP SP3 + FSX SP2 environment. Everything works fine but I have a discrepancy in the way slats, flaps and ailerons are moving.On internal view, when I'm moving my joystick, control surface are in green on the ND screen for ailerons (and other control surfaces). If I'm in external view ... no aileron movement is observed but only the right speedbrake when my joystick is moved to the right and ... nothing when my joystick is move to the left.     Hey, everyoneI have a few issues, but nothing that's preventing me from enjoying the learning of this sim...1) I doesn't appear that the PMDG menu is keeping my settings. As an example, I just purchased FS2Crew for the MD-11. When I deselct the option for PMDG's FO callouts, it does not work-- they continue. I believe this may be the "only" issue with this as I seem to recall the changes I made for the tutorial flight stuck. Anyone else have any issues with this?2) Panel Lighting.     Hello there,Again a question about this fabulous plane...I set into my flight plan a -220 on a waypoint and checked in lateral revision that it show AT OR BELOW FL220 on the waypoint...When I selected my altitude on the FCP, it show "Profile to 10.000" and started the descend as it should but on the waypoint with the AT OR BELOW constraint, it intercepted FL220 and maintained it until the waypoint... as if I set a "AT" constraint... wouldn't be normal operation to this type of constraint to continue the descent below as you request it ? This constraint it to avoid the Profile to be ABOVE this altitude on this waypoint, not to level at it ?Regards.

    Hi,I love your very nice designed liveries for the new MD11...Do you guys from PMDG already have information/timetable/plan when Germany`s famous Lufthansa(for PAX) will get her own livery for that beautiful MD11...? I would think that many German MD11-simmers also would be very thankful for that...(although "small" LTU (lol!) is a nice beginning)... :) :)

  14. Hey all,Fully enjoying the MD-11 and I completed my first trans-atlantic flight yesterday as well. My observation over the past several flights using a full Profile-descent directly to a coupled ILS autoland is that once I'm at or below the 240kt initial approach speed, the FMS assigned speeds don't seem to change unless I drop the slats and flaps first, then the speed-bug reacts appropriatly. Where as on the Boeings, it always seemed like the speed-bug would drop ahead of time and I as the pilot would apply the appropriate flaps on schedule.So, is this a normal difference between the MD and the Boeings where it seems the current MD approach flaps drive the current FMS …

    I am having a problem with reaching cruise level. When setting up the FMC, I set a cruise level of 330 for example (load manager used to set two thirds passengers and low fuel - typically 50 tons). However, the aircraft is never able to climb above approx FL270, regardless of thrust limits set - I have even set the thrust limit to go around, leading to high temps in the engines, but still it can't reach above FL290.Anyone have a thought to something missed in the setup? I am having this problem on EVERY flight, even though the FMC will show the best cruise level to be higher than what I am setting.

    Hi,once again I ran through the 200+ pages performance...I found 50+ pages on landing distance - in all variations of runway condition... I know that the MD11 is critical on landings and much faster than the 747.Take-off performance seems to be TOP SECRET, what I don't understand.Not even some information about necessary runway length is available - today I planned a flight from Berlin to SFO, but I could not find ANY information about take-off distance and how much weight I can carry out of 9900ft runway - I finally did a take-off with 282 tons, but this was everything but safe!I really don't know what NDA (or so ) means - MD11 is no longer on sale!     Hey,First of all what a great product but i have a problem, when i did a night flight with the Mandarin livery (passenger) the cabin windows were dark but all the other lights worked as it should.I tried the same with the city birds and the swiss livery but still no cabin lights.     I am still struggling with the wind entries for the crz part of flight - thanks to Allan, I got some useful information from RW MD11 pilots - but having still big problems.Entering accdg to planned FL will not work - I now found a way to enter the planned wind by using ONLY ONE FL - i.e. flt is planned 290/310/330/350/370 I use only FL350 and enter the the winds accdg to the waypoints despite the fact that the planned alt are different! But still, the entries are transferred into the F-PLN page 2.Same with the temps - but now I have another big problem : The temps on the F-PLN page 2 show POSITIVE temps - where the temp is entered as -54 it shows +37 and will reduce when …

    Hi,concerning the MD11 FMS: 1)Is there something like a navigational info "library" stored in the FMS? What I mean:Lets assume that I would like to approach EDDT airport in Germany. I (for some reason) only know the RWY-in-use designator (e.g. 26R)...but not the corresponding ILS-freq which I would like to enter in the "ILS-freq" field at the NAV-page of the FMS:Is there now a way that the FMS tells me this ILS-frequency for ILS RWY 26R at EDDT somehow...?2) FMS inputs: I use the PC-keyboard input feature here which working really well.     On an ILS App with Appr mode selected on the Navigation Display I only have Localizer indications showing and have to look at the Primary Display for Glide Slope indicater. On the 747 I get Localizer and Glide Slope indications on both displays when in Appr mode. I have not found anything in the manual to explain if this is normal for the MD11 Navigation Display. Anyone have an explanation for this.Thanks John S

    Hi,after some practice with the MD11 I would like to practice some basic VOR navigation with this bird:1) Therefore I entered the VOR freq & corresponding radial via the NAV-page of the FMS: Is there another way to enter the freq/radial instead of using the FMS/CDU? I am not sure but I think in real life the pilots are able to enter the freq/radial directly over the COMM panel, or...?2) Concerning the radial: Is there another way to change the current radial (of the VOR) instead of re-entering the new radial in the FMS?     Hello Gents,I thought this might be helpful/interesting to some.The only reason I was sticking to Windows was, yes you guessed it, Flight Simulator (or should I say the addons for flight simulator). But when I heard of the possibility of installing windows natively on a partition on a mac I gave up on Windows, got an iMac and never looked back! Seriously I got a 20" Imac, 2.66 Ghz Core 2 Duo, 2Gb RAM, 320 GB and a very ordinary 256Mb Radeon ATI 2600 PRO. Nothing extraordinary but not to shabby either. I was expecting to run FS2004 without any problems... and it does, on XP, loaded with addons, settings on high and flying complex aircraft and the thing never drops below 80…
