PMDG MD-11 (Legacy Version)

Hi there.I recently bought the wonderful md11 by PMDG and in the time being i'm studying on it.So I tried twice to do the tutorial flight, following strictly the instructions given and after takeoff, after either NAV mode and autoflight are armed the airplane keep going straight and doesn't follow the azimuthal profile. She holds 6000 ft as i set in the FCP, she is in autoflight mode but NAV button become unselectable, i have to continuosly push it and it continuosly disconnects.Why?

Any help on this?I am using X Graphics, if that has anything to do with it as well as FS2 Crew MD-11.Angelo Cosma

Hello,I have a problem with initialising the IRS on MD-11 at the following situation.- GNS/GPS enabled- only 15 sec alignment time- I forget to use Initialise IRS* in FMC within the required time when setting the IRSs to NAV so the lights of IRUs are flashing. Therefor I switch them back to off then to NAV again to restart the initialising but whatever I do I cannot use Initialise IRS* in FMC because it says NOT ALLOWED. How can I restart the process if I forget to enter the required data within time? It is a bug or I do something wrong?(Of course if I dont forget it the first time it works properly)Matyas Majzik

I have all PMDG products. I had doubts about the MD-11 because it is not a very well known and popular aircraft. I considered the PMDG 747 the best airline add-on so I finally decided to go for it and get FS2Crew working with my cargo operations.I must say I am very pleased the the MD-11. It is great to fly, the panel is amazing and being a 2D panel I guy I appreciate the widescreen version (I don't understand why it's not standard these days, most monitors sold are widesreen).I prefer FS9 for my "airline" flying because of all the good sceneries (FlyTampa, Aerosoft, Flightscenery, etc.), AES and better performance on my computer. Hello,first of all thank you very much for this great aircraft!!Unfortunely there a few things that dont work in the way I expected to.1. The speed limit below FL100. I can change it manually in the FMC but it shows no Effect in the flight. For example: if the FMC calculates 275/100 and I overwrite this with 250/100 the aircraft still fly the 275kts below FL100. In the ND the speed it is correct shown as 250/100 but in the PFD the speed-target is 275....?2. Same issue with VAPP. Hi all,As I have always done with the PMDG 737 and 744, I have added an arrival Fix using the MCDU, being exactly 40nm (direct - not along track) from arrival thereby creating a crossing restriction. This is important to make Radar Contact play-nice with PMDG VNav descent capabilities. I have always been able to add the arrival fix (airport or VOR) on the MCDU Fix page and just simply enter " /40 ". Then, where my my FP crosses the 40nm range-ring, would then be downselected and uploaded to my Legs page, making a perfect crossing restriction.In the MD-11, I can't figure out how to translate the same procedure. I've been trying to sort out why the Autobrake engagement is sporadic on my setup. I'm hoping by comparing notes, someone might be able to shed further light on this issue. HelloFirst, thank you very much for this extraordinary product. You have made an incredible work.However, I have a strange texture problem in the 2D cockpit. It appears on several parts of the panel (or FMS, overhead panel...) in windowed or full-screen mode. It is a bit difficult to explain but as you can see on the picture attached (I have put red circles where the problem is the most visible), it looks like as if one part of the panel was split into two part across the diagonal and that the lower-left part was moved one pixel down.I have tried to resize the main windows, activate or desactivate the AA or filtering, without success. Hi all,I've got a couple of friends that are just raving about the MD-11. They've sent me some screenies and mentioned how there's a "widescreen" mode or something.Does this beast support custom monitor resolutions? Do I need two monitors to use widescreen effectively?I ask because I'm considering making the plunge. I've staved off buying heavies largely because I never fly routes of the length they usually like to run. I love PMDG's past products though, and certainly the buzz about the plane has got me thinking. Pretty pricey though... gotta figure out a way to justify it in the budget.Anyway, any information about this would be great. Thanks much.~Nate

Hi all,Is it just me or do others not have taxi or landing lights illuminating the ground in front of them? I noticed this at several different airports over the past two days at it was especially hard to follow the taxi line. I can see the taxi light and landing lights when looking at the aricraft as well as the light-splash on the under-belly in front of the nose gear, but nothing on the ground.If I am the exception, could it be my current copy of the halo.bmp which causes this? Any thoughts are welcome.Regards,

I am unable to find in the manuals, or just don't understand it how to fly a CDAP. (Continuous Decent Approach Profile)I guess it is named FPA (Flight Path Angle) in the manual (PT.30.1)In the 747 or 767 you can capture ILS only on autopilot and fly the CDAP with the v/s selector. When I try this on the MD-11 I always end up with either an autoland, or with a FPA but without auto-ILS guidence.Can someone explain the proper way to fly this approach in the MDA?Grettings,Eric W

Hi, the MD-11 FMC doesn't seem to take account of the trip lenght when calculating max alt. For example it displays the maximum possible altiude for the current weight eg. Fl300, but the distance to the destination is only 70nm. So it is impossible to reach that altitude. An economic altitude for this trip (LSZH - EDDS) would be FL 130. Is this behavior different to that on the boeings? Jan-Paul

PMDG after all the excitement of the FSX release you will have obviously been concentrating on sorting of problems with that. Now a week or two past release is there any update on how the FS9 version of the MD11 going?(Please don't take this as a "looking for release date" type question)Andy S
