Hi,on my first two longhaul flights with the MD11, I was not always in the cockpit and had to recognize that the CG runs out of range on both flights. In my brain is nailed: Sit down in the cockpit and do nothing else than normal ops, she will do all for you. I guess I make a mistake in thinking of fuel handling, but I have no glue, what I have to do to avoid CG OUT OF RANGE...Help needed, please...BestSteffen

Hi,could you guys tell me which situations/incidents can cause the FADEC-mode display (overhead panel lower left side) showing "Alt"...so going to the "alternate mode"...?Sometimes (more and more) I get this display after engine-startup...but not always...so I am unable to identify what makes this scenario happen...And I still dont know what I did wrong here...Thanks very much! :)

...but I saw another 'landing light' post, and figured what the heck.I imagine I'm the only one with this issue, but perhaps someone from PMDG could suggest something. First of all, I'm using WidevieW with multiple CPU's and monitors. So FSX necessarily behaves differently in some respects.The issue - the landing lights don't come on when I select the "LDG LT" or "NOSE LT" switches on the server CPU (which only displays the instrument panels) - I have to turn on the "EMER LT" switch to see the landing lights shining on the scenery on the client CPU/monitors. FolksI noticed lately that my 11 has some issues maintaining NAV heading while in PROF mode.She starts to bank left and then right trying to maintain NAV heading.I don't see this happening on a constant basis, it suddenly starts and then goes away after reaching the next waypoint.Anybody else seeing this ?ThanksJoerg

Hi guys, I bought the MD11. Great job here! I'm very satisfied.I saw in some videos specially in Martinair ITVV video that there's a voice in the GPWS system which says stabilizer motion. I'm wondering when that voice is pronounced and if it is simulated in the PMDG MD11.Tks.Rafael

Good evening everyone, I bought PMDG MD11 just this evening and i installed it immediatly. Everything in the installation was fine and, after have installed also some livreries I decided to try to fly this new bird.I loaded ActiveSkyX than I loaded FSX and here was the first problem: immediatly after the load of FSX a message appeared in the windows bar (where the clock is located) telling me that there was one program running wich is in conflict with Windows Vista colourscheme adopted and a switch to Windows Vista Basic colourscheme was needed. I know it is just a smal detail on a great plane.I don't know if this could be hardware related, but I'm using mostly the mouse wheel for actuation of knobs and wheels.Now on the VS you move your mouse wheel forward and the VS wheel moves in the same sense forward and you get a lower pitch - all perfect.Now you apply a forward movement on your mouse wheel on the flaps dial. The wheel and in consequence the displayed degrees just move the other way.Similar for the knobs on the glare shield. Moving the mouse forward excecutes a right turn (clockwise) of the knob or higher values. Applying it on the transponder mode select knob it is the other way round.And there is more of …

When preparing the aircraft to fly the tutorial route EGLL / LSZH. I can enter all the data into the MCDU as specified in the tutorial.pdf except the alternative destination LFSB using F-PLN INIT button LSK 2R. Hi,I wonder if there is a "MD11-outside light bug"...?1) Although I have RWY Turnoff-lights switches both to "off" this light is "on" at the right (not left!) side when viewing from outside at the cute MD11... 2) The same is with the NAV lights: Though switched to "off" the constant green & red light at the very LE (wings) can be clearly seen "on"...(!)3) The same is with the flashing white light at the vicinity of the NAV lights (I dont know their correct names).To show you guys what I mean I made a pic from the overhead-panel and the corresponding outside-view of the MD11 at the same time. Bonjour, I understand and fully respect that your are up close about release dates. But i'm very anxious for the release of the MD11 for FS2004 (fs9). All i would like to know is that your are working on it, and a release will be in the coming weeks. Hey,I thought some people may appreciate some hype-free first impressions feedback:-1. An equisite simulation. We have not yet seen the volume of quality complex add-ons for FSX, that we enjoyed for FS9, but this definately fits that mold.2. Kudos to PMDG for including aspects that improve frame rates. They are better than expected and much improved upon the 744X.3. Systems and functionality is stunning. Typically PMDG level.4. I personally do not think the VC textures are as cutting edge as some elements of the add-on. Some blurry, hard to read areas, and the pillars look a little low-res. This maybe why the frame rates are good, and if so PMDG are entitled to scream "w…

Hey Folks,Would I be right in thinking that the above flight stability systems bring a degree of (non-FBW) autotrimming to the MD-11 ?I just hand flew the MD-11 up to my cruise alt and it seemed that I didn't need to do a lot of trimming. Pushing the yoke seemed to result in the aircraft settling into and mnaintaining a new pitch without the need for much trim.Did I imagine this? :) ... or is it modelled?LOVE this aircraft!Roy.

So, I purchase what is regarded by the community to be the most stable and working 'out of the box' complex add-on and guess what.......... it won't work at all on my system!Firstly - I am joking there - I appreciate that something major has clearly gone wrong at my end as I know most people have had no problems.My problems can be summarised quite easily :-- On loading any of the MD-11 varieties, I have no 2D panel - just a grey blob, or outline of the panel, but there is no panel there.- The VC is visible but absolutely no clickspots work, and the yoke is 'hard locked' to the far left,- In the PMDG Menu, the OPTIONS selection does not display at all.- When I access the '…

Just wondering what the PMDG guys are planning with the MD11, will you release the FS9 version first and then the SP for FSX, or the other way around?thanks

I have installed MD11 three times but following failures remained:in outside sight ailerons are not moving, only the two inner flaps functions, only left speedbrake is moving not right one. Please help me!!! Another curious thing is when i ended a flight and load another from my saved flights list the panel of MD11 is grey without any instruments. I have to restart FSX for another saved flight.

When following the tutorial and at FL370 cruise alt I follow the directions and alter the Alt to 4000.When crossing the T/D the a/c does not start to descend. Am I missing something? Alan

I am really enjoying this simulation. I very rarely use auto flight but am fascinated by the capabilities which have been built in to the MD 11. I hope that my limited knowledge of this area will be forgiven if I ask a question about the approach process and the FMS.On my last flight to LEBL I called up the STAR page of the FMS in order to enter an approach to Runway 07R. As I understand it, both this and rwy 07L provide ILS approaches. However, the only approach presented on the page was the VOR - a non-precision approach. Not that it matters a great deal, but I do wonder why the ILS apps were not listed.Bud
