Hi,Today I found the vertical profile in FMC has became blank during the flight; every computed altitude was blank, it was only manual constraints. Moreover, FMC TO/APPR page was completely blank (for example no landing speed).Is this issue a consequence of any action I have done? Is it possible to recalculate a vertical profile?RegardsCzarek

hi,when i takeoff in the md-11 it seems like i frequently pass v2+10 very quickly and end up in limbo where i am climbing out at a very high, almost-stalling aoa, but the fms speed doesn't update to something reasonable like 250 until very late, like after several thousand feet of altitude. meanwhile it still thinks i want T/O thrust i think or climb thrust even though i'm going way too fast.. i think i'm maybe hitting the profile nav too late as i like to handfly for a bit to get everything somewhat stable? i guess i don't really understand what the trigger is to make the fms think it's cool for me to go any faster, however. i tried lowering the values for acceleration a…

As per McDonnel Douglas' Airport Planning Manual the MD-11ER has an OEW of 132,049 kilo's. When you look at the MD-11 load manager, and choose 0 load, you get an OEW of 123,999 kilo's. That's more than 8 tons of difference. Is there a reason for this difference?For the MD-11F the discrepancy is much less. 112,748 versus PMDG's 113,849... 1 ton.Could this explain why we never reach maximum ZFW ? And while I touched on that subject, is there still the idea floating around to make pallet size editable via an .ini file ?Thanks,Xander

Had to RMA my MOBO and CPU and GPU after my fecking PSU blew up.Took 6 weeks. Back up and running.ASUS P5Q MOBO with 4 GB OCZ 800 RAM, Intel duo 6850 @ 3.6, BFG 9899GTX/oc+.Have to say: PMDG, you folks really outdid yourselves with your MD-11....fantstic work! Cockpit is excellent, modelling, avionics realism, excellent!I am likley not ever going back to the PMDG 744x...the MD-11 is just far too advanced.Thanks alot.

The MD-11 Tutorial number 1 instructs us how to enter the most appropriate SID and STAR for the flight from Heathrow to Zurich.I now need to dig deeper and identify the reasoning for these choices by looking at the relevant charts.I'd appreciate guidance as to what charts I should examine and where to find them.Cliff

Can somone tell me where in the operating manual it explains the functin of that funny bar infront of the throttles. I've pressed it and it seems to give automatic MCT? Anything more to it?Also, does anyone know if it's possible to display the PFD in window mode (pressing the "w" key on the keyboard). I find that landing is much easier in this view due to the aircraft's high nose up attitude. But for some reason when I press Shift+7 the PFD only flickers?Thanks in advance,Martin Neep

Hi Captains,Yesterday I noticed a strange VOR navigation behavior. I have flown an EHAM 18C approach and I have tried to sequentially track two radials of VOR SPL using autopilot: 300 and then 002. I noticed that the MD11 flight timer, starts itself as aircraft takeoff. Also it stops itself at landing time, and it doesn't keep the flight time but it returns to 00:00. This is an issue because in the real life the MD11 timer keeps the latest flight time until reset or new takeoff.Any solutions about it?RobBlueSky Virtual

Hi allI just bought the MD-11 by PMDG, which makes a good first impression.However there's one problem I can't solve.Whenever I'm tuned to an ILS frequency, the identifier tone (morse code) will be played. This happens even though on the pedestal, both IDENT switches are off and I shut off the volume of all the radio identifier channels.It keeps playing whenever I'm tuned to an ILS, which gets very annoying during the approach. I think it might be that the observer station radio panel is tuned so that the ILS IDENT keeps playing. If that should be the case, where do I find it? If not, are there any other solutions to this problem?Thanks and Best Regards,Yves

Now that I heve solved my problems I'm flying the MD11 night and day. I prefer to fly with KLM colors but a question rises immediatly. What are the settings (options) chosen by KLM for their MD11? I tried to look at some photos but are taken from too far to se all the details. I am sure they have the "line" engine indications instead of the traditional "circle" but any other setting is just a guess...could sombody help me? HiI purchased the md-11, installed it, and then downloaded and installed some of the liveries. I had a problem with my pc anduninstalled some software including my flight sim programs. I have since re installed everything, but when i install the livery (UPS), the UPS aircraft doesnt appear in the menu to select that variant. I uninstalled the software and tried again but to no avail. I have even been as far as uninstalling FSX and the MD-11 and did a complete reinstall, but it is just the same. The only thing im not sure about is when installing the livery, the files seem to copy across, but then jumps straight back to my desktop, i dont get a message telling me the softw…

I jsst wanted to add my thanks and appreciation to all at PMDG for the wonderful MD-11. I particularly like the well thought out screen changing methods.Something new,easy to use,and shows what a lot of new thinking has gone into this product.I makes it so much easier for someone not up to the highest ability in flying in sims.Happy Christmas to all,you probably need a change of emphisis! Greetings again!Yes, I am really enjoying this new machine. This evening I loaded the 747-400x to check out some settings, and was amazed at how dated and obsolete the flight deck looked! Poor, poor bird. It was not too long ago that she was my "major" flying machine. I've really got to find some time to take her up sometime soon.....lol!Anyway, back to my post.Geneva Cointrin (LSGG) does not have jetways. Last night, after a beautiful flight, we had to deploy the slides to deplane the pax. Needless to say, they did not enjoy it one bit! During climb and descent, I will go through an altitude range (I'm not sure if it's always the same) when some of the numbers do not show up on the tape. Hello,I just purchased this sharp product a few days ago and also bought the Flight Crew Operating Manual as a reference. In the op manual I cannot locate how to clear (1) the "Stabilizer Trim" light that appears on the console so by it staying on prohibits takeoff.(2) I need to know where to "Set Landing Altitude" which is the other warning light that I cant find how to clear....I was hoping for the Flight Crew Op Manual to explain in detail the FMS or FMC which is very different from the reg. Boeing FMC I use in the 747-400 QOS pkg from PMDG. My question for that one is, should Ialso purchase the guide from PMDG or is there another way without spending another $100+ USD…

Just experienced a total power loss after Engine shutdown and systems only on battery-power. After some few(?) minutes all CRTs went black. I wasnt able also to start the APU...or enable Ground external power because the MCDU itself(!) was also "black" without any elec.So my question:1) Is there somehow nevertheless a way to regain power to the MD11 in such a scenario...and if so how?2) How long approx. is the MD-11 battery working (in minutes) when no systems are "at work"...so the MD11 just standing at the apron...?Thanks very much! :)

I just encountered a strange problem with the md-11. I was cruising along at 36k on my way from PANC to RKSI and about 3 hours into the flight all of the VDU's froze up and the plane began wallowing from side to side. When I clicked on the VDU's to enlarge them they were working fine in the enlarged mode, but were completely broken in the regular VC view. I had to cancel the flight, a waste of 3 hours, but these things happen I guess. Also, I noticed something strange before this problem occurred. Pressing S to change the views only gave me the outside spot view and then back to the VC with no tower or wingtip views offered. When I pressed shift s I got the wingt…
