PMDG MD-11 (Legacy Version)

Hi,after some flying with the brilliant MD11 I would like to "use" the step climb feature of the FMS. Therefore I read Harrys advices (thanks!) in the other thread entering diffenerent SC FL 330, 350, 370...and setting FL 370 in the FSP box.My question now: After taking off & engaging Auto Flight & Prof mode brings me direct to the first FL (330 in the example above), correct? If so what do I have to do that the FMS performs the next SC and climbs to the next FL (350)...?Thanks very much! :)KR

Hi, will the FS9 Version of the MD-11 will have 32-Bit textures? Compared to the texture quality of the 747 (fs9) the FSX MD-11 textures are not as crisp as the 747 ones. On the KLM 747 (fs9) you can read the aircraft name "City of Lima" very easy. On the KLM MD-11 in FSX you can't indentify the name "Maria Montessori" because it is not sharp enough. Jan-Paul

Hi,1) Is there a possibility that catering/luggage trucks arrive at the MD11 when opening the cargo doors as it happens with the default FSX B737-800NG after opening the cargo doors...?2) If I choose the PMDG-MD11-MCDU-Push back service the airplane is pushed back correctly. What is strange here: The tow-truck drives away *before* the push has been completed...Am I doing something wrong here or is this "problem" of too-early drive away a FSX thing...which cannot be solved (drive away of tow-vehicle not until push is complete)?3) There is this function concerning the FSX jetways at the gates of airports: You can dock the gateways via CTRL+J key when being at the *correct(!…

Hi,I would like to create a cirle around a Nav-point (VOR) with an entered distance. Therefore I tried that on the fix-page and entered the Nav name at LSK 1L....that worked well...Now I would like that a circle will be displayed at a distance lets say 20 NM around... That because I entered (according to the FMS-PMDG manual on page 83) at LSK 3L different syntax for that but the result was only always a "Format error".So what do I have to enter at the LSK 3L at the MCDU-Fix page so that a circle at 20 NM from the entered Nav-fix is accepted and then also displayed on the ND...? Hello everyone:First of all, a big thanks to PMDG for such a wonderful aircraft!I am having problems with "Pause at T/D" not working (not pausing).In the options, I have the Pause option checked. In the FMC, I ensure that I have a T/D waypoint, and also selected arrival runway. I have also cleared all "discontinuities" in the plan. What are the conditions that trigger the Pause? I am inserting the arrival information by selecting SID from the last waypoint before the destination airport entry.Is the Pause at T/D option stored in a config file so that I can make sure it is "on"?Thanks for any help you can provide.Regards,Fabio

Bonjour tu le mond a PMDG, :)I am wishing to inquire as to the proper procedure for performing a touch and go with the new MD-11. I would rather like to do some extensive circuit work to gain manual flying skills with this fantastic aircraft, and performing many landings and takeoffs during a simulator session would be so helpful to me. I have tried so far to land and then press the go around button on the throttle, but the FMS seems to lose all programmed route information upon touchdown. Therefore, I have no Vr, V2 speeds, etc, to take off again with. I understand that part of the procedure is to set flaps back up to 28 and then press the go-around button during…

Good day all. I'm taking the step to upgrade to FSX and would like your input. Which would you suggest, the MD-11 or 744X? Whichever I choose I want the performance models to be based on the engine variant - so the RR engines are based on the real RR performance models, same with GE and PW. (A feature which I think is in place for the 744X.) Any advice? Thanks!- Jake

Hi Guys,I've noticed that the PW aircraft have reflective surfaces on the engine cowlings (the same as the rest of the aircraft) but the GE aircraft engine cowlings do not. Is anybody else seeing this?I was wondering if I might have a spec file missing from the main texture folder.Thanks,Dave

Just completed first sucessfull flight under full FMS control...with manual ILS landing at the end...thanks to all who helped by answering that many questions...There is one thing I noticed during enroute phase of the flight concerning enroute speed I wonder about: During the whole flight it seemed that there was kind of "speed limitation": Although Mach 0.81 was calculated & displayed at the MCDU the PFD only showed Mach 0.61 at the speed-tape during whole enroute FL/phase. At first I thought it would be because of the entered Cost Index (I entered 80) but also after changing that to 100 nothing changed. ..Then I recognized something on the EAD saying "CRZ limitation…

I have run across two issues in the handful of flights that I've managed. I'm going to try and post links to the pics, but please let me know if there is difficulty in accessing them.1. Engines 1 & 3 started, APU off, air system in manual mode, and pneumatic crossfeed valves are closed. Just a small panel problem.When I click on 'SD' I get the two windows opening, which I think are the SD and CP (I could be wrong). But when I click on 'SD' again, only one panel closes and the other remains open. It is the SD panel that remains open (ie, the display panel) and the only way to close it is to right click on the edge of it and choose the close open. Shouldn't both panels open and close together when using the 'SD' clickspot?ThxPod

Not to be a pain, but Just wondering how far off this is. I am nowhere close to getting a machine to run it on FX as it seems you need an expensive machine to run it, so Fs9 is my only hope to run the MD-11 until I save up for a 3 to $5000 gaming rig to run it well.I can't help but envy all the happy MD-11 owners and watching you tube videos of fast machines running it flawlessly.Michael Pare.

I would like to learn more about some of the information that is displayed on the speed tape. Some of the letters are in green, others are in amber color. What does the color indicate? I see letters, such as "GE" or "SE". I have tried to find information in the manuals, but have not been successful. Is this type of detail covered in the manuals? If so, can you please point me to it?THANKS,Jim

Hello,After startup, when I release the brake, the MD-11 begins to roll without any throttle. Actually, if I am not careful, it will taxi forward until I activate pushback. Is this correct or is it a throttle align problem?Thanks,Ron Sagel
