PMDG MD-11 (Legacy Version)

First of all, the MD11 looks great. However, I do not own FSX nor do I ploan on purchasing in the near future. i am however contemplating a purchase of the MD11 FS9 version when released. My question is will there be a stand alone version or will one have to still the combined FS9/FS11. ThanksRob

Hi,I am following the MD11 tutorial at the moment and reached page 7 of the tutorial pdf. Here is my problem at the moment:Although I loaded the plane before with the load-manager (and sent it to FSX via the appropriate button)just as described in the pdf the value for...- UFOB is 66 (instead of 30 as in the tutorial pdf)- TOGW is 420.6 (instead of 207.2 as in the tutorial pdf)- ZFW is 392 (instead as 177.9)What I am doing wrong here? What do I have to do in order that the weight page looks like the one in the Tutorial pdf? Here is the current situation in pics:

Hi Folk'sBrought the MD-11 this morning but can't get it to run.Each time I tried changing aircraft I get a shutdown error which points to PMDG_MD11_ACS.dll so I took that out only to get another pointing to PMDG_MD11.dll. Again took that out and then aircraft loads but of course I get no gauges. Any suggestions please from PMDG as to a workaround.Running a systen with 4 gig ram, anthlon x64 dual 5200 CPU and my FSX is running a very stable version as never had any problems until today. Its FSX SP2.Thanks Ron

Hi,just installed MD11for FSX with the AIRAC which was shipped by. After I opened the FMC I want to enter the Origin Apt and the Dest Apt. - for example EGLL and LSZH : But all I get is a message: "Not in data base"The same message comes when I enter "EGLLLSZH001" as said in the Tutorial...all I get on the FPln-Init page is "Not in database"What I am doing wrong here...? :)KRSusan

Hi,trying to step into the depth of this beautiful machine I come to the load mgr - btw no problems with my fuel slider...(vista german )I think it would be a good idea to have the possibility to adjust the load mgr's basic settings.I have a real world flight plan (LCAG) where the basic settings are rather different:MAX ZFW is only 200.000 kgs iso 204.705MAX LOAD and ACT LOAD is 85290 kgs whereby the load mgr (unchangeable ) figure is 77110 kgs. Also the DOW is different...The point is, all airlines have different figures for their basic weights - so it should be made possible to adjust the load mgr accdg. to RW settings.Actually same applies to the 737/747 load manager..…

Hi!Just want to know how i can apply antialiasing to the fonts in the VC. I need to zoom to read the buttons and the display, because the "dents" makes the text unreadable. or if this is a bug.These are my specs: q6600 3.8ghz, 4gb ram, vista 64 ultimate, 8800gt, newest driver from nvidia, creative sound blaster xtremegamer x-fi.My antialiasing setting is set to 8xQ. I have the aircraft settings all to the right. The plane has antialiasing ald looks great, but the fonts in the VC don't.By the way... The 2d panel has widescreen support?? and if it does, it comes activated by default, or i need to do something? My resolution is 1440x900.Sorry for my bad english.Juan.

First major problem with this bird. When loading a flight plan into the FMC, specifically any route from KATL, FSX crashes. All I am doing is entering KATL/KLAX in 1R on the INIT Page and as soon as I press 1R it freezes up. From this point all I can do is a Ctrl-Alt-Del and restart FSX. Anyone else seen this problem before? Very frustrating. Hi,I'm finding I'm getting ADD DRAG messages, even though the aircraft will comfortably make an altitude/speed restriction without it. Anyone else noticing this? All it is doing is increasing the descent rate so I spend more time leveled out at a lower altitude.It doesn't occur all the time, but more often than I thought it would?Best regards,Robin.

Hi guysFirstly a big thumbs up to the PMDG MD-11 team for a truly excellent piece of kit! I am, however, having issues with Out of Memory errors (as have been noted by others). Thing is that the exact same routing (EGLL to LSZH) with the 744X presents no problems at all. Having done this route a couple of times now in the MD-11 each and every time I am able to complete the flight but for the last 10 or so minutes before touch down FSX will refuse to take screenshots (or take corrupted ones) and a soon as I exit the flight I get an Out of Memory error and FSX shuts down. I, like most everybody out in the FS comunnity, have been patiently awaiting this realease for years.After familerizing myself with the systems of the MD-11, and reading the materials provided, I made my first flight, a short one (KMEM-KSTL) but a very nice one. Hi everyone.I have a question. How does a person figure out how much fuel to load for a particular route. I have not found a specific answer or formula for this? So far, it seems like we have to use the SWAG method.I believe there has to be a more intuitive and precise method.Any help/answer(s) would be appreciated.Have a great day.

Because I want to go step by step I would like to try basic ops at the ground first.I would like to start from cold & dark cockpit. I call em like I see em, your milage may vary.Initially I was skeptical of this plane because I have the 747 and its a FPS hog so I never fly it. I also have just about every other payware airliner made and fly most of them regularly. I mention that because they give me something to compare the MD11 to.FPS wise, this plane is fine, but it does have me scratching my head once in a while. The 2D cockpit gives me between 30-70 FPS and in my normal 'at altitude' view (external-zoomed out) I get from 20-40. In both views the FPS constantly varies, jumping all over the place.
