Installed the MD 11 last night and it's a superb exterior model and VC and performance seem's good for me.I have one problem in that none of the overhead buttons light up in the VC. In the 2D panel they all show their relevant off, avail or on lights but when i switch to the VC they are all just blank.I've loaded different panel states but the VC overhead still remains the same.Any suggestions?I have noticed that the MCDU always shows 'Sensor Failure' first, is that normal?ThanksMatt

Hello,I purchased and installed MD11 and FS2Crew for FSX as a package and it has installed correctly.However, straight after installtion, my Saitek Joystick is nolonger detected by FSX. Well, the hat switch works but the buttons don't. The buttons configure ok in game controllers, but are not detected by FSX.I know this sounds weird, but the buttons also now do not work in FS2004 and nothing was installed into this game.I should say that I have been using this joystick without issue for over a year.Ok, so this maybe not be strictly a PMDG issue, may be Saitek, may be FSUIPC, but with your vast knowledge and expertise, I hope some of you may be able to make some suggestion…

Hi allFirstly I would like to thank PMDG for their magnificent artistry in creating the 11.Secondly I have eventually mastered the aircraft and fly it as it is flown in the real world. When I rotate the panel floods in VC, the gray metal parts of the panel background get strange textures from the lighting. The textures change as the light goes up or down.This happens with the main panel, the center console, and the overhead panel. But the MCP panel, forgot what is called in the MD-11, doesn't do this. I was wondering if anyone has experienced random CTD's using the MD11 and Active Sky X?I have just completed flight of about 1 hour or so without ASX running,previously attempts to run alongside ASX have resulted in FSX error box showing and CTD.Nigel Thomas XP SP3,FSX SP2.

Dear PMDG dev team,I've been enjoying the MD-11 a LOT so far. Outstanding job on this one. Once I feel very comfortable with flying this bird I want to add all kinds of failures in the mix. There is however one thing I dislike about this with the MD-11 as it currently is.The random failures can only be: n times every ten hours. I think the ten hours is a limiting factor. I'd like to fly the aircraft in a normal fashion with the possibility of a failure happening. I do not want to fly the aircraft with the knowledge a failure will most likely happen on this flight.So, what I am proposing is giving us simmers the ability to also select the time. LDS did this with their 767.…

Hello Fellow pilots,I have looked at the tutorial and is there anyone out there can explain better in detail how to work the FMS. The Boeing fms is so much easier like adding the sids and stars to the flight plan section and even make up a video on youtube going throught the steps just a thought. Hey,Just wanted to show my appreciation for the MD11.This a/c is...I have no words for it. It's absolutely stunning!!!The FPS are better then the standart a/c, or there about.The panelswitch concept is realy, realy nice. And the a/c itself is by far the best a/c available for FSX at the moment and will probably face no serious competition anytime soon.Realy nice job guys.

I have seen the great VC videos on Youtube of the plane. It was ok when we all suffered waiting on the release but now seeing the latest videos how long must we FS9 users put up with the pain of waiting on our release. Please dont spend the rest of the year fixing the little bugs with the FSX plane. Give us our plane with a few knats or ladybugs. This is the first time I have ever said such a thing to a company but your product at 89% working is better than others working to its best.

Hi all,First of all I'd like to say congratulations to the PMDG team. ;) I've already spent about 60hrs "in" the MD-11. FANTASTIC JOB!And the main reason why I'm here:After a lot of searching in the printed manuals, I still have a problem:After Go-Around ALL(!) the values disappears from the MCDU's "Approach and Go-Around Page" and regard to the manuals (FMS.40.57) the pilot is not able to change any of these values (except 5L VAPP and 4R TIMER MMSS)However in case of this "error" the MCDU doesn't calculate any landing speed (etc...) after G/A so I can't use the FMS SPEED mode anymore.Any idea? :-hmmmRegards,Laszlo

I've searched the forums, gone through manuals, etc, but am experiencing the following problem:No matter what action is taken via cockpit buttons, vc buttons, or PMDG-menu quick-keys, I am unable to turn off the Nav & Strobe lights on the md-11. Hello everybody,A fresh MD11 owner experiencing first bump on the road on the way to victory. Noticed so far, in 2D cockpit captain's view all the panels are black (PFD, ND, SD..). If I click on them, the enlarged version displays lit up and ok, and the panels are also on in virtual cockpit view. Also the marks that are supposed to be on the clickspots (the little icons mentioned in the tutorial) are missing. Also, the knobs to set the FMS SPD, heading, altitude and VS are missing (there is only a "smear of dirt" across them. When clicked on they work though. Hi Guys:I trawled through the manual and thought i found the answer, but didn't. That said, FSX crashed shortly after (video driver issue - now solved - thanks to Mike at FSGS), so the sim may just not have recognised what i was trying to do.On arrival at EGLL, i hard tuned the ILS (old habit) and then upon getting closer the Morse code kicked in. Looking down at the radio stack i clicked every bcn, vor button etc, but could not get the thing to shut up.The buttons popped in and out, but i couldnt get them to turn as i would expect.I was in VC at the time, using the VC radio panel, not the view windowCheersPaul

Hello, I am posting in here as a last resort I notice the MD-11 has the GPWS set of its on I also noticed the FSX wont shut up with its own I cant stop it for some reason and for another problem with this I can hear MD-11 GPWS with the other so load and I hear to anyways, the GOWS by FSX seems to be calling out 2 at the same time when I reach 2500 I hear it from 3 call outs but the MD-11 is very low since i can turn the otherf off or down I am going to atempt to reinstall eeything FSX and th MD-11 just would like to know if anyone else has had this problem or a way to fix it the key I assigned to FSX GPWS wont turn it off second I soyuld not even hear that sound in a sky…

Dear all,When I start FSX with the MD-11 the following happens:1)During loading (black screen)I have all undocked views:glare shield, main view captain side and dummy main panel.2)Then when FSX is ready I don't have the proper instrument panel.I close all the undocked screens/views and after that I have to go to the menu for the Intrument Panel again to get the Main viw captain side. When everything is OK I save the setting.Then again after starting FSX. It all starting againg from point 1.What do I wrong? I also use the PMDG 747-400 and have never problems with it.Thank in advanceErrol

Hi, nice that we can download and purchase the MD11 now, but there is a problem on my side.Opening the aircraft in FSX the well loved message occurs that the FS will shot down due to a problem with pmdg_md11_acs.dll. So I can not fly her :-(Any help out there please ?ThxSteffenP.S: I can not find this *.dll on my system doing a search of all local drives !!! What means this...I installed the software twice, no change... hmm....

Hi folksJust reading the manuals and preparing myself for the first flight. One thing I don't understand is the FLEX entry in the FMS Take Off Page:What does this temperature TAT to 70'C indicate? I guess the reduced t/o power depends on the GW, runway length, temperature and altitude. But how do you calculate/evaluate the value?In real, if you've to read this values out of the performance charts, how can we set a reasonable value for a derated thrust t/o?Thanks for helpBrunoLSZH
