PMDG MD-11 (Legacy Version)

Hello,First of all, the simulation is absolutely beautiful. :) Thank you for that and congratulations to the team!I have a small problem and I thought I'd post it here in case of PMDG team knows about it or if any other user is experiencing it.When I try to set the keyboard commands in the PMDG menu, it does not register any of the alphanumeric key presses, and only accepts keys like CTRL, TAB, Shift.I've tried restarting my system and even changing a keyboard, but the problem persists. The key presses work normally in any other application.The reason this is important to me is that without it, I cant set the autopilot/autothrottle disconnect switches to my flight control…

PMDG, once again I am sure that you really nailed it with the MD-11. I have had all of your FS9 products and they are great. I have FSX but I currently do not have a system that will be able to handle add-ons to the sim. I also do not plan on upgrading to a new system anytime soon as I am a student and I just don't have the extra cash. I would love to fly this beauty but I am going to wait for the 737NGX. I'd love to see someone between that release a B717. But all I can do is wish for that to happen. I think it would compliment the MD-11 very well. But for now I shall wait a few years for the 737NGX and I am sure it will be even better than the MD-11. Congrats again PMDG…

Hi Guys:Having succesfully completed my check ride to Zurich and back, i am going to take the MD11 out for a spin transatlantic tomorrow. I don't think I have downloaded something this slow since 56K. I am getting 6 kb/s on my 6mb connection. All of the other sites I have downloaded from today have been screaming, but the server holding the MD-11 has knocked me back to the year 1995. The funny thing was it started at about 200 KB/s and started to climb, then it just stopped and dropped back to 6 kb/s. Almost like my connection got throttled. To put it into perspective, I just downloaded GEX from Flight1 in about 20 -25 min. (1.8+ GB). The MD-11, at this rate, is going to take me 5 hours (153 mb). LOLWow. Just wow. :-lol

OK.. I remember getting this error the last time I bought the PMDG747 for FSX. Now, I am getting the same error for the MD11 for FSX.I entered the CC number and what not and Bamb! Error ..'please give this number 518987502-221340 for reference',,that was it.Not sure..if I should try again..I don't want my card charged multiple times'what do I do?Manny

I am running all of my PMDG aircraft on a Dell Inspiron 9300 laptop with a 1.8 GHZ P4 that runs these aircraft just fine, the question is will I be able to run the MD-11 as well, or is the MD-11 much more demanding, will I need a whole new computer to run the MD-11? I absolutely love the MD-11 and I'm hoping this works.Michael Pare.

Guys,I have had the privilege and the honor to Beta Test the PMDG MD11 in conjunction with FS2Crew for the MD11. While I will not be around until later to answer questions (running out for a quick spinal operation) I can tell you that what you are about to have in your hands is unreal!!!The PMDG MD-11 is the ONLY reason I am flying FSX right now. PMDG has created a masterpiece thats performance is mind blowing considering the complexity of what they produced. Help! My parking brake is stuck! I cannot turn it off! I have gone through the checklists, and when I went to push back using the FMC, the voice said release parking brake, but I can't! I even started all 3 engines to make sure I have hyd pressure, but nothing! I was following the quick tutorial, and had the parking brake armed before I started hyd alt pump 1, if that caused the bug its just a guess, but I can't move!!ThanksAlex

Hi all, I just purchased the MD11, for the most part...its wonderful. With that said I have to comment that the virtual cockpit seems blurry (in terms of the textures). A lot of the panels are hard to make out, and over all it does not seem to compare to the same level of detail in which the 747 displays. This might be a computer issue, and that is why I would like to pose a question...Is anyone else having virtual cockpit texture/quality issues? I appreciate any input. I've just downloaded a few repaints and I've found that no matter how many other light switches are switched on with the electrical busses powered, the cabin windows never lit up at night. Perhaps someone forgot about the night textures?Also another thing I've noticed is that when full flap is deployed the edges of the flap textures have a 'fluorescent' green color. You can see it quite clearly in the wing views.

Hey guys, I purchased the MD-11 last night, downloaded and installed. The installation went without a hitch, I also added a livery from your site which installed just fine. I started FSX and selected the aircraft from the menu, after the gauges had been "approved" (for want of a better word) FSX just crashed to desktop. I have re-installed several times, in several different ways, running as administrator (both the installer and FSX), running the complete installation method, the custom installation method, but each time, no luck. The aircraft is there to choose, but will crash the sim. I have also tried loading a default aircraft first, loading from within game itself, …

Hi,My only problem is that I am not able to choose the fuel level in the MD11 load editor?I am on vista (french) and I run the load editor with admin rights.But max stay on a red "0" and so I think I could not increase the current value with the cursor as max is set to 0.Any idea? I even set passangers load . Save and relaunch the load manager but same result2) My fps in VC don't seems to increase even removing overhead anims and FO screens. I stay at 10 fps but I have more than 20 in external view? Any idea?COre2 2.4ghzHD3870 with AA4x and AF4x4go of ram (no 3gb tweak)

Hi when I was installing the program I got an error message in the last part of the installation, with a microsot visual C++ 2008 module. The exact name is microsoft visual C++ 2008 redistributable file. After that, I continued with the installation and I was prompted to abort. Anyway, I was able to enter FSX and load the plane, but certainly, something was wrong with it, I could not get to load the 2D cockpit or any other 2D windows, also in the VC, I saw a strange pink piece just under the flap lever, so I uninstalled it and got the executable file from microsoft web, and again the same error while installing. Hello there,I just want to say this plane is fabulous but ... I seem to be a bit shorter when I sit in the 2D panel than in the 3D...On final at LFMN early today I wasn't able to see the rwy threshold from 2D when I saw it completly and even more from 3D.I have a way to change a little the angle of view to reflect a bit more what I should do ? This was a problem for the visual approach I was cleared for... (I don't know how to do this with FSX).Thanks.

Hi everyone,Although I really love this MD-11 I have a problem that makes it almost un-playable. When I load the aircraft and it is at the gate with the tutorial panel file loaded I get around 21-22 FPS, from the moment I start programming the FMC, especially after pre-flight programming is done the FPS drop to about 3-4 FPS which makes the plane unflyable. Sorry gentlemenThis will be the very first PMDG add on I will not be purchasing for MSFS.I have every single MSFS add on they made but the price, although the same price as the 747-400X (which I would not have bought if it were not reduced) I cannot bring myself to pay that much for a simulation addition.Hats off to you for making such a fine piece of software.Goran

I successfully installed the new MD-11 and it really looked fantastic. Unfortunately my system ran out of memory before I was able to do anything. At least I got to see the exterior and a few seconds of the cockpit. To all at PMDGThank you for the MD11 and I am most grateful for the "Wife acceptabilty Factor" or WAF option of just one purchase for both the FS9 and FSX versions.That helps me a LOT and I am quite confident i am not alone.I can kind of explain why I want a new aircraft to fly, but not 2 MD11's when the bills come in and her with the all seeing eyes notices.ThanksPaul

Hi Guys:Great product, but where is the Perf Data?I can only find V speeds referenced within the FCOM. In order to create an aircraft performance file for Flight Operations Centre / FS Build or any similar flight planning software, i need this data, but of course, i need also the Fuel Flow Tables, the Climb and Descent Tables and so on. Am i being completely blind, or are things a touch incomplete on the Perf Data front?CheersPaul
