I have been looking around at videos and photos of MD-11's taking off, and I noticed that the aircraft seems to be capable of doing a very high angle takeoff and rapid climbout compared to many other big jets. MD-11 FCOM: "The windshear alert and guidance system (WAGS) provides detection, alerting,and guidance through windshear.On takeoff the WAGS is available from 80 KTS to 1500 feet RA. Hi Gents,Some assorted snaps from my last flight including a few VC shots, some images of the fantastic Air New Zealand Fantasy livery and one or two shots taken during my NZQN RNAV approach test. Not as many shots as I had wanted to take but things get very busy in the MD11 during the approach, not least of which is due to the relatively high approach speed the aircraft requires.Enjoy!Engine Start. hi all, in relation to flying the pmdg md-11, a very good web site is WWW.ITVV.COM where you will find the md11 dvd available in pal-ntsc-vhs. 183 minutes duration. having the visuals along with the pmdg manuals, should help in bringing together your understanding of the theory and the practical. hope this helps. richard welsh

Captains-I thought you all might like an update on progress with the MD-11 in beta testing:We are preparing to issue another beta version to the testing team- and with this version we anticipate having a marvelously stable platform. Michael and Vangelis have been spending LONG hours chasing down items that might cause CTDs and we are now confident that with this new version, those problems will be resolved!We will be following up with another new beta in the middle of next week- and this one should include fixes for the vast majority of the open items reported to us by the testing team.If all goes according to plan, we may begin testing Release Candidates within two week…

This update serves primarily as a stability update, as this has been the main focus for the development team during the past two weeks.
