PMDG MD-11 (Legacy Version)

Using the PMDG MD11 Load Manager, when I fully load either any of the passenger aircraft with passengers and cargo or fully load the cargo aircraft, they are nowhere near the maximum zero fuel weight - why ? Is there any way of loading the aircraft up to max zero fuel weight ?Fergus

Dear PMDG-Team,I already sent you an E-Mail on Thursday, but although I received an automatic response it remains unanswered. But anyway, I've a few items I would like to discuss: 1. I've some problems with the Speedbrake. Before Landing, I always arm the speedbrake by clicking on the Speed-Brake lever. But when the plan touches down, the speed brake does not extent fully, the lever only wanders to the 1/3 position. Please see the following Pic for more information. I'm using a non registered version of FSUIPC. The speed of the plane was below 100 knots and all tires were fully on the ground, moreover I used Autobrake Min.2. Hey guys,I must say what a fantastic aircraft you have made! It's like nothing I have ever flown before. I've been doing a lot of reading to learn how this aircraft works and was looking at page 420 of the FCOM.I noticed that with flaps 50 and a landing weight of 460000lbs S.L STD 15c the amount of runway required was 4410ft without adding on any wind components. Looking at 480000lbs at the same type of environment runway required 1550ft and 500000lbs 4720.Is this correct? It seems a little strange to me but I may be wrong.Thanks,Billy

HiOn page 44 of the MD-11 Pilot Introduction it describes how to disable VC Head Latency by editting the VIEWS.CFG file. Thing is that there is no such file installed by FSX (at least not on my system)? I presume you are referring to the cameras.cfg located in the main FSX install folder?All the bestKonrad

While flying the tutorial flight I saved my current flight state at 6000 ft. I ended the flight and came back later at which time I loaded my saved flight. The view out the window was correct however the view of my instrument panel was blank; all that showed there was a gray screen. Would someone please tell me why the view of my instrument panel wasn't retrieved after I loaded my saved flight.

Just to add my .02, for me the VC is totally unusable. The font problem is so bad that unless I zoom in I cannot read any numbers, letters. May I ask one more question about the use of multi mons. Having got the most-used of the panel windows on secondary mons, the view monitor is clear. The set up works reasonably well. However, if I open another secondary panel, for example, the engine start panel, the view monitor loses the bottom half of the screen which goes blank and I have to use ther W key to get the full view back.Is there a way to avoid this?Bud

Hi,I've never had to post a problem after having purchased everything PMDG has produced, so sadly here goes - hopefully my pics are OK as I've never posted screenshots either!Note the menu bar corrupted on one image, and the exterior view of the MD11 on the other. This happened in my last two flights, apparently quite randomly. I seem to remember someone posting something like this some time ago, but couldn't find the post. I first thought it may be an overheated video card, but not so, last checked it operating at a comfortable 40-50deg C. Also, some pop-ups like the throttle/pedestal appear black as well. HiI bought that wonderful airplane couple days ago.What would been better than fly with it on weekend,well i have thatkind of problem what doesn't allow me to do it. My problem is nextkind: The plane installation went normally,but after i was starting to fly it,i noticed that everything is normally,engines are running,powers are on etc.But now we get to the core of my problem: PFD,ND and the engine instruments are dark,and the Addons runner what should be in the top of the FSX window won't excist.Does anyone have something what could help me?

Hello all! I was reading through the Intro MD11 pdf pg 58 FSX MEMORY USAGE IN WINDOWS XP. The problem I'm having is that it gives you the path to follow when you right click on MY COMPUTER (Properties/Advanced/Settings/Edit.)Well I don't have an edit tab to click or I'm not in the right place? IMHO the MD11 raises the bar for airliner simulation. Congratulations PMDG! If you can release the 737NG with the same level of performance, visual quality and systems modeling then I will purchase it without a second thought! (Maybe the same team that worked on the MD11 is working on the NG?)I've spent a few hours flying your MD11 and have some comments:-1) The autoflight system seems to initiate turns far too aggressively. The plane really seems to "jerk" into the turn for the first 1/4 second. By comparison the LDS767 is much smoother during the initial turn. Hello there,As on the Airbus FMC you haev the little triangle for Fly-Over waypoint. Is there a way to add/remove the Fly-Over for certain points in procedures or to set it over point we add manully ?I'm still reading the manual but I have (for now) only the PDF version and my eyes are... closing themselve ;)...Thank you for your help.Regards.

Hello there,I was flying when updating my QNH (yes yes I know, I should have made it at TA but forgot it when climbing)... the plane was still at 38790 on profile mode and won't climb FL 390 as defined on the FCP. I had to left click for hold then right click agaiin to force the climb.Regards.

Before purchasing the MD11 from PMDG I knew absolutely nothing about this aircraft. But now that I'm starting to learn the systems I'm amazed at how similar they are to those used by Airbus. Is this just coincidence or is there a reason?Examples are:-Push pull MCP functions-Similar FMC pages-Similar symbols used on ND for TOD and EOD-Selecting ignition for start causes the packs to switch off-lights-out panelsand there are more!Martin Neep

Hi,I can't seem to get this figured out! I need to enter Lat/Lon into the Flight Plan, but it says "NOT IN DATA BASE".Where do you enter it?According to the manual, the format is NxxWxxx.
