PMDG MD-11 (Legacy Version)

I am running MD-11 for FS9 and have just updated to the patch. I am only beginning to explore this marvellous aircraft but I seem to have difficulties entering a correct TOCG. Whatever I load - passenger and freighter version - the FMS tells me that my TOCG is out of range although it corresponds perfectly to the figurs of the load manager. What am I doing wrong?

I just installed the MD-11 for FSX and been flying around with it for a few hours, but then came into land at night and noticed there is no lights on the runway, with all the lights on. Tried several different versions of the MD-11 and they all have the same problem, landing lights show up on the runway 200 yards away or just not at all. Haven't done any modifications to the aircraft and do not have shockwave lights. Any help would be appreciated, thanks!Robert

Hi all,We just installed the new PMDG MD-11 for FS9. But there's a problem. After selecting the MD-11 in the Aircraft menu or just before I can click on Fly Now, FS or the computer locks up or crahes every time. It will not load the MD-11. What's the problem? I tried to load the PMDG 747-400 and it loaded okay. But a couple of minutes later, it locked up again. Ken.

Does anyone or can someone make a livery for the current Northwest Airlines?I know they are fictional, I seen one for FSX on Avsim and don't have a gluehow to convert it into FS9.

I'm having a problem trying to make the parking brake stay applied. I have FSUIPC and tried to set in within that program but that didn't work. I also removed the FSUIPC parking brake setting and tried to set it only using FS Options.It will apply then just release on its own....very aggravating. :( I have redownloaded the updated version with no joy. Is there a remedy for this?Thank you,Bob

Hello all, I don't to come off as being picky but I've noticed a small issue with the Ups nc livery. There's a small gap between the #2 engine intake and the thrust reverser door. It makes it look as if the thrust reverser isn't completely disengaged. Other than that all is well. Thanks!!Darren Esannason

Although I have yet to study the manuals and yet to use any of the flight-programming and yet to make a "proper" flight, one things strikes me immediately about the FS9 MD11, and that is how light on her feet (wings?) she is.I use CH hardware calibrated with FSUIPC, and using the same parameters as I use for the 737, 747 and a commercial 767, I am surprised at how quickly the aircraft responds to in-flight control input, and how there is no sensation of her size and weight - something very apparent with the 747.She also climbs like a rocketship! - reaching 10,000ft whilst I am still Track IR-ing around the flightdeck.Now, I fully accept that the way my MD11 "feels" is ex…

With my FSX MD-11 I can only define a keyboard commandfor a particular topic just once. After this it works.If I redefine another key for the same topic it does notfunction anymore, neither with the old command nor with thenew one. This behavior is the same if pre-defined FS commandshave been overwritten or new ones defined.In my FS9 MD-11 everything works fine.Does anybody experience something similar or do I havea handling problem?ThanksGerhard Dresch

MD-11 is freezing up when entering airport pairs in MCDU. I had this same problem about a month ago and had to do a full reinstall of FSX :(. The reinstall solved the problem but now it is back again.....after about 10 flights. No new software has been installed. Has anyone found a fix for this yet?????? Very frustrating. I really don't want to have to reinstall FSX every month or so. Thanks,Eric

Hey there, I've finished my first flight using the the initial tutorial provided, during the flight I have noticed a few weird things going on. My current knowledge on commerical aircraft and their systems is very limited so I will try my best to explain below, (sorry if it sounds very rudimentary), I have included some small screenshots to try and illustrate; I have followed the tutorial word for word and have not deviated from any of the procedures outlined in it, the initial set-up of the aircraft was fine with no problems and the same went for pushback/start up taxi/takeoff, it was until I came to cruising. Just done my first flight having installed the service update for FSX. The main thing I noticed was a significant drop in fps. As a comparison, I repeated a pre-update flight. In exactly the same conditions, the pre-update average fps was 63. The flight after the update averaged at 39.Is there any reason why there should be such a reduction?Bud

Hello folks.I am having a frustrating time. First, I have searched the forums and have followed the instructions on the FAQ regarding this issue. I have achieved zero success thus far.I have my FSX crash with the "fatal error" listing the MD-11 acs.dll as the culprit. I have uninstalled the MD-11, the FSX.cfg and the dll. xml file(s) and no joy.There is the buttons to click on after re-installation of MD-11/ to accept or reject the gaugers/modules...however this does not work. Just wanted to share what I just found and what you might already know, this bird is awesome: in the loadmanager I just switched to the widescreen panel and it makes a whole lot of difference even in 1280x800! Many thanks for this awesome bird!

Dear PMDG,I wanted to congratulate you guys on a great aircraft. However Ive noticed a few minor issues.1) When operating near the north pole (higher than 84 degrees latitude to be more exact) the MD11 became very unstable swaying left to right almost uncontrollably. I then took the A/P out of NAV mode and changed to TRK HDG and resumed the flight without any other issues. Hi,on the first flights with the MD11 (FS9) I could hear all callouts regarding the touchdown namely: "Reverse thrust available" and "Spoilers deployed", but I realized that they are not always available. Are they supposed to be always there or only when I fill up the FMC with all flight data?Thanks

Hello all and PMDG team . each flight with the MD 11 , fs9.1 stops, freezes while I am flying IVAO OR VATSIM ?never had that before what can be the source of this problem ? I have reinstalled the MD 11 and the update . The memory goes to 998 M0 but I have 2 G0 ? He often occurs now and yesterday when I was in final approach ? Thanks for advises and what can I do ? Unforeseen circumstances led me to having to blow away my whole FS9 folder. Before this happened, I installed the patch for the 11. Now, where I try to reinstall my MD-11, it will not let me run the installer. Here is what it says:Setup has detected that the version 1.10.051 FS9 is already installed. This setup installs an earlier version of the PMDG.You will have to uninstall the previous version before installing this version. When I try to run the patch installer it just installs like it normally would, doesn't uninstall the patch. What should I do?Many thanks,Brendan
