PMDG MD-11 (Legacy Version)

Hi All Still loving this MD11 , its the only A/C i use at the ( and i have like tons of other A/C in the Hanger all rusting away now ) moment and im still finding out things i never knew and making mistakes on Vatsim due to the way the heading select works :( ( like turning left instead of right to a given heading as i turned the knob all the way round dohhh ) , ... talking of the heading select when im using while being vectored on the approach , speed 180 and flaps 15 or 28 i have noticed that the MD11 seems to rock or sway left and right has any one else noticed this ? its the FS9 version ,.. i remembered i had this with the PSS 777 when it was on final and it tur…

i just got a new rig and have been flying the wonderful md-11 alot lately. my system is an i7 940 2.93, 6gb ram, gtx260, vista64, and i am running it on FSX. my sliders are set to mostly right, with auto gen and complex textures set to very dense. in cruise while in the vc i get about 35 fps, and on approach to KPHX i get around 17-22 fps while in vc. just wanted to check if this is normal? thanksadam k

Dear Captains,I'm a japanese and not proficient English.In the Polar Navigation (FMS.100.32), is the word 'transitions' used as a noun or a verb?Then, I have been unable to understand accurately the last phrase "Within 2 NM - - - polar region".Is that means to manualy off the FD for the wings level mode?Sincerely,Kan-ichiro Fushihara

Good day, i was using the search function already, but i didn't get anywhere...I purchased the Aerosoft F-16 and installed it, after starting the FSX, the default flt is PMDG MD-11, the panels of the MD-11 are not in the correct position, also overlapping.After selecting the F-16 and taking off, the computer crashes everytime after a few seconds, failure msg is asking to restart the FSX.Right now, i cannot post screenshots, sorry...I used the "registry fixing file" already, no change.EDIT: I forgot to mention that I didn't install the PMDG update yet...I wanted to wait for a little while if there are problems with it...Any ideas? Hi Everybody,I've purchased the MD11 for FS9 and I have a big problem!! Each time I'm in flight I 've a cabin pressurisation problem with frozen screens!I've reinstalled the MD11 but it's still the same!Can you help me!

I'm curious as to what happens on the real MD11 as regards the front landing gear landing light. Obviously no point in either being on when the gear is stowed but does the real plane extinguish the front landing gear light on retraction of the gear or does it blaze away until turned off by the crew?How about that?.... not a moan lol just a real question. Going to have a play later to see if I can get my head round which switch/taps transfer fuel around... can't understand it from the manual.. DOH!John Ellison

I downloaded and installed the cycle 0901 sidstars and forgot :( to backup the original sidstars from PMDG :( .Now it seems that the LFPG sidstar is not OK for MD-11 (too many entrances...). So I can't use my favourite airport anymore.Can somebody post or send me the original PMDG sidstar for LFPG so I can load my FMC again from LFPG ??Chesseagle.

First of all I want to congratulations to all PMDG team. MD11 is another really nice addon, very professional work. After make some short flights and getting knowledge about how to use this bird, now it's time for real fuel calculation.is there any fuel calculation program development in future by PMDG? FMC is helping for fuel calculation but I'm sure this is not easy or trustable way :) if we can see (+) value on estimated fuel on board in FMC/program page, fuel value would be enough but I'm sure there should be better way.Do you have any idea or suggestion?

Hi PMDG,Well before I go any farther I have long enjoyed all of your products and really enjoy your your newest creation the MD-11! I just had a few questions for you, I hope you do not take them as me picking on your product, that was not my intention.First question is; why did you decide to go with the cool fancy electronic standby gauge instead of the older analog gauges?I was curious because in your early photo's you released you could see the analog gauges in the cockpit. So I'm just curious what spurred the change.Second question is; is there a way to get the same level of detail and animations that are in the FSX VC into the FS9 VC? Such as the window shades, heads…

I have flown the PMDG 747-400 for FS9 for ages (ever since it came out in 2005) and have used it in conjunction with Flight Simulator at least across 3 different physical PC machine with different configurations and I have NEVER had a single problem with PMDG 747 whatsoever, whether we are talking about vanilla PMDG 747 or the later voluntary updates which I did do. Today I have what would be considered a top of the line Desktop Gaming machine. Needlessly to say I have no problems with my Quad Core processor 4GB of ram, and my video card is considered excellent by todays standards and benchmark tests. I do not overclock and my machine can achieve a 3dmark06 score of wel…

Gents,I am building a new machine this week. Following specs... Windows XP SP3 Intel 3.2GhzNividia Gtx2604G of ram.MSFS 2004How has the MD-11 ran with your specs as reference? Any issues with frames? Question two.I see a few posts about people complaining about panel quality and what not. I am 2D cockpit flier. Is the panels easy to read? Click spots correct? Anything you can add I'd love to read. Has anyone purchased the manual set? Its alot of eye candy and the wife thinks I need it. But i dont want to purchase if the aircraft isn't top notch yet. Hi, there is one issue I would like to adress to you: if there is 1 IRU Off/Fail it shows the LVL 1 alert: "No Autoland".But I know autoland is certified with only 2 IRUs- the minimun is than a CAT 2 Appr in "Single Land" mode.Please check on that.Thanks!

Has anybody tried using the MD11 in FSX with the DX10 demo function enabled?I have had it work initially,but when trying to reload a flight,it will fly OK for a few minutes,then go out of control.Ron

Hi Guys, Downloaded the Md-11 last week for Fs9. It is a work of art . Thank you to the team who worked on it.And to anyone who questions just how good it is. If they can get there hands on a copy of Airways Magazine October 1997,and read some of the articles in it about the Md-11 and check out some of the pics of the cockpit and Fmc system.it really is great. first of all: you made a great job once again for the MD-11 !!! thanks!now i realized two suspect things i never had with other PMDG models when i start the FS9 and pre-load a flight with the original MSFS Cessna in C&D:1) the front left door is open, why? is there a way to solve this behavior?2) the MD-11 initializes and tries to start the engines (all other models stay in C&D), why? is there a way to get it to C&D without post-loading the C&D panel-state?thanks for solutions________________

Two short questions for the pros:1.Though the doors of my MD-11 are all closed after starting from cold-and-dark and ending with taxiing on all 3 engines (MCDU says "open" for all doors, so I guess they're closed; in spot view none is open as well), the SD indicates a bunch of doors to be open...2.I cold and dark on batteries only, when starting the APU, is there a way to get the SD to work to see any indication for the APU operational values or is the blue blinking APU start knob all there is?Andreas

I own the Aerosoft 747 MCP/EFIS/EICAS.Is there a possibility to use this hardware on the MD-11.When I choice the tab FS2004, PMDG 737 or PMDG 747 nothing will works in my cockpit.I know it's not a layout from the panel of the MD-11, but maybe some functions will be worked on this plane.Regards,

I seem to remember when reading the list of items in the FSX MD11 update that the track error on the APPR rose would be corrected, but mine is still wrong.The CDI still does not move with the rose when changing from HDG to TRK. the same problem in both virsion of sim. I fly in FS9 only, but I check if this problem existed in FSX and it did.When I load the aircraft in Cold & Dark config, and rotate all 3 IRS sellectors to NAV as per tutorial instructions (that's before the APU start, with EXT power ON, parking breaks on, not moving I guess, and the IRS-time alignement is set to 15 seconds. However I tried all timing: 10 minuts, 15 seconds, 0 seconds).The lights above IRS sellector knobs start flashig and continue doing so for ever, and the message on EICAS says IRS1 NO ALIGN, IRS AUX NO ALIGN, IRS3 NO ALIGN. In other words, the thing doesn't alight and that is IT. What's wrong?Also, the door …

Hello again, I am still at a loss for the problem I'm having installing the MD-11. Before purchasing the MD-11, I updated fs9 to version 9.1, I checked the modules folder and all of the appropriate files show the new version, 9.1. I ran fs9, selected alt, help, about fs9 and that also showed the new version 9.1. I have a legal copy of fs9 and disk 4 is installed. My computer is a Velocity Micro, model: gamers edge e2250, rating is 5.9, processor is: intel[R] core [TM] 2 quad cpu q9450 @ 2.66GHz 2.67GHz RAM: 4.00 GB, sys type is: 64 bit vista. any help would be greatly appreciated. douglas earl

Having Problem's with new the airac 0109 files from navigraph, everytime i load either the md11 or the 747-400, i click my depture airport then go on sid CTD this has only happen today.is there any way of using sid other than not using the sid at all any help would b greatful cherrscolin

I love the new a/c but I have a problem that stops me from flying long distances. I get ooms with this a/c but none others including the 744x. I have vista 64 with 4gb of memory, any help?

Before installing the update the autbrakes were behaving as per the manual.Now that I have installed the update, I've noticed something that doesn't make sense. For some reason, the autobrakes only deploy when R/T is selected? Why is this?Regards, Martin
