PMDG MD-11 (Legacy Version)

I have just installed the MD-11 and would like to know whether it is possible to "close" the system display screen with the multimonitor feature enabled. I find I can close the two small overhead and console panels but not the display itself. All three close when the feature is disabled. Peter Lowry

Guys im making this thread just place some question about the MD-11, i think this would be helpful with other simmer. you guys can add up too.1. I know the Md-11 has a sound " stabilizer trim" when using the trim i cant hear it from the 2dpanel and even in the VC. 2. Hi folks,a couple of observations:1) If at the beginning of the IRS alignment process some of its conditions are not met when you move the switch to NAV (for example lack of elec power) it seems the IRS will never truly enter the alignment process. The MCDU will display INITIALIZE IRS but the LAT/LON fields will be empty and if I try to enter something manually it reports "NOT ALLOWED". Also, after 10 minutes, nothing happens. The only solution I found so far was to reload the aircraft (!!) Powering down everything and restarting didn't help.2) Once IRS alignment has started, and you don't enter position data, the IRS will "loose" its alignment after 10 minutes. This is h…

hey, When I try to set-up the FMC after an arrival i get stuck on the INIT 2 page, the problem is when i set the fmc up for the first leg it calculates the center of gravity and the GW self, but when preparing for the next leg i have to fill in the CG and the GW self.How can i calculate that or when can i see it? so i can fil in the FMC.Cheers,Wouter

OK so my fsx got messed up and corrupted somehow, go figure... and I previously had updated my MD-11 to the newest version ( 1.10.051 ) but heres the thing, Its not installed, Ive tried looking everywhere for ANY pmdg files on my computer and I have none, ive cleared out my registry and all that good stuff. Ive even done a complete re-install of FSX and vista.....I am running Windows Vista Ultimate 64 bit. Intel Q6700, 4 gigs PC6400, 500 Seagate HDD, 2- 9800 GTX's in SliI havent changed a thing other than a complete reinstall of windows and fsx, so how in the world could there be leftover files saying I have a newer version. I thought I would chime in and just say, yes, there are a few bugs that nn to be worked out. I have probably every Heavy available for FS-9 and I can say that this acrft is great. Experience w/ your system, FS-9 and the rules regarding add-on's etc. are probably the root to many users problems. I cannot comment on FSX or Vista, but these have had their share of problems long before the MD-11. I too have run into a few snags but they have not affected my overall view of the product. PMDG has always come through and I have no doubt they will on this acrft as well. Only individuals who develop these things truely understand all the obsticles involved w/ development. I have …

It's always a bit of a chore to setup a new airplane, not only the joystick assignments, but using WideView, there are all of the panels to relocate and save. One thing I never have issues with, however, are the *basic* joystick settings (versus the button assignments). I'm using a CH Flightstick/Throttle Quadrant/Pro Throttle (for extra buttons)/and Pedals. In the engine section of the systems manual on page ENG 30.5 it mentions takeoff climb and go around thrust derates of 10% and 20% and that they would show up as TO1 TO2 CLB1 and CLB2 etc. I can't find anywhere in any of the manuals how I could select those settings. I would like to set a reduced climb thrust because the plane climbs faster than normally seen in the real world even at heavy weights. I am often seeing pitch angles at or near 15 degrees nose up and vertical speeds in excess of 3000 feet per minute below 10,000 feet and 25o knots. . When viewing in spot view,locked spot or flyby, I can see a vapour trail about fifty feet below the aircraft. This appears as a horizontal and vertical trail drifting downward away from the aircraft.Also, I don't see the wingtip vortex. Is this a bug or a problem with my video card?Ron

Hi, one question. After landing and parking I would like to config the MD-11 (Cargo) for another flight. I can load up the fuel via FMC. When I use the loadmanger and change the cargo, is it possible to use the same aircraft without a new start of FS9 or start up the same aircraft vfrom the FS-Menue?Roland

Hi there, I wish I wouldn't have to post a question on this forum, but here is my question.I have purshased and installed the brand new PMDG MD11 for FSX. After a few days of test, I was back in a 747 mood. But once I was in the cockpit I realised the PMDG 744X that I bought a year ago seems to be desactivated. It's like It's not registered while it actually is and it worked properly before the MD11X installation.Any clue about it?Kevin SAUDE.

Hello Folks:I would appreciate any suggestions on how to set up the pressurization system for a departure from an airport such as La Paz, Bolivia (SLLP), that is located at 13,300 ASL. I would also appreciate advice on how to set up the system for an arrival to that airport so that I can decompress the cabin before opening the doors, without bursting everybody's ear drums! Hi Folks,I just bought the MD11 from PMDG. This is my fourth Addon from PMDG an I expected a lot. What I did not expect was trouble. :( Here is my issue:After starting FS9, i select PMDG MD-11 press "OK" and.........nothing. FS freezes and nothing works anymore. I de- reinstalled the MD11 3 times without any change. Does anyone know this problem and could help me with this.Thanks G200

I am running FSX and the MD11 product on a Dell XPS systems with 3GB of memory, 1TB of disk and a 3.6Ghz processor. My problem occurs when flying an arrival , to any airport, At some point during a long final, the MD11 simply locks up for an extended period of time followed by a crash to desktop of FSX. This does not occur with the 744 product for FSX. Please help!bsindia - Burley
