PMDG MD-11 (Legacy Version)

I have just purchased and installed the PMDG MD-11 FSX. I am running Windows XP Pro SP3 and my computer specs are Q6600 4GB Ram Nvdia 8800 GTS. I have absolutly no problems with FSX, frame rates are always above 30. The problem is that my MD-11 as no engines ( 3 of them) when looking in spot view from the front and no elevators nor gears. All other add-ons are working fine.Any help ?TKSLuc Vanasse

Greetings, I can't uninstall the MD-11 at all. Several files I know were corrupted on the computer. Now trying to uninstall using the windows remove programs will not work. I can find no uninstall file on the computer for the MD-11 if any came with it. It will not reinstall over as it says I need to uninstall. I have tried deleteing all the files I can find but that doesn't work either so I put them back. Is there some files I need to remove so I can start over. This all started as the 2d cockpit wouldn't show all the windows correctly so I was just going to reenstall the A/C.Using FS9. Windows vista 64bit.

How does one compute the proper trim and flap setting for take-off.....I have not been able to find a chart etc. which provides these numbers

What a fantastic product the MD-11 is, every aspect of it. Does the APU have an external sound when it is running? (without engines started). I know they have modelled the aircraft in all aspects to reflect the real thing and was wondering if the APU is quiet in real life. My comparison is to the Level D 767 which has a beautiful sounding APU when started and running.Anyone know more on this.Regards,Jeff Blyth

Hello to everyone,finally I found the superb lookiing repaint from Lewis Hamilton on PMDG-Site for download. The link ist NOT more broken for FS9 download.But: after installing I was shocked:The repaint colours were mixed with the PMDG ground repaint..! Seems there went something worng with it!Any one else but me the same experience ? Or could it be a problem on my own machine..?Please try out!Thanks for your feedbacks!Boris

What kind of performance can I expect to see in FS9 on a Vista 64 system ? I perfectly understand this is a highly subjective question - as will the answers.But if you can compare the FPS to some other add-ons (PMDG 747 and CS 757 for FS9 come to mind) that will be more than adequate. Same ? Better ? Worse ? Also, is it possible to use it in no-VC mode ?Thanks for any input.

Is there a way to set the default panel state for the MD-11? In other words, when I create a flight, in FS9, with the MD-11, I would like it to start with this chosen panel state, always. Can that be done?Thanks! Victor Buck

i have been using md-11 since it was released for fsx and things were working fine however since the last two weeks i have been noticing that when there are 2 parallel runways on the same course and when i have been cleared to land on one of them ,on feeding the localiser frequency ,and pressing app/land,there seems to be a deviation of 1-5 degrees when i land and i miss the runway ,like for eg 32L AND 32R ,this does not happen when there is a single runway for landing,the guideslope seems to be working fine is there a solution for this problem,this problem is quite irritating :( as i now fly only with md-11 ,which i feel is quite superior to 744. i have asx,fex,utx,gex,p…

I noticed something weird when I load a saved flight. Usually I don't save flights and load them later on, but every now and then after using the menu, FSX looks all weird (black and flashing) and I can do nothing else but save the game, restart FSX and load it again. But that's not the (biggest) problem. The weird thing is that after loading a saved flight above the trans alt, the altitude won't stay where it should be unless I select current QNH. Usually, when you switch between current and standard QNH, you see the alt tape itself jump a little. The magenta dot stays where it is. But after loading a saved flight, the altitude is wrong with standard QNH.Example: I am fl…

I've just ran into a heretofore unseen problem with the MD-11. I'm at the parking area at SBKP and as I try to set up the aircraft I keep getting a window saying my "ZFWCG is out of range". It is not. My ZFWCG is well within limits. After spending several hours trying to figure it out...I finally see my fuel amount "blinking" to 100%...then back to my loaded 33%???" Every time it does this I lose my VSpeeds, I get the "ZFWCG out of range" window opening, and other things go wrong. What is causing the loaded fuel amount to "flash" to 100%, momentarily, screwing up the entire flight prep?? Giant PITA. Victor Buck

Hi, I bougth your great MD-11, but I have one problem. Every time I startet the FS9 and use this MD-11, when I stand on the apron, the engines are still running in idel and after some second the rpm goes up. I tested it with save a flight with engines off as default flight an so one, but it is always the same. When I use after that the panel status in the PMDG-Menue, everything works fine.Roland

Captains-I thought I'd give you all a quick update on progress with the PMDG MD-11 for FS9, and the simultaneous FSX update.Currently, we are projecting a release that will definitely take place during 2008, and most likely take place before Christmas. At least- this is according to our current progress rate, and of course could change if we run into something unexpected during final testing!We have issued BETA 3 to our testers, and we project BETA 4 to go to them on Monday. Hello:After opening the SD, where both the panel and the window open, I am unable to close the window when I close the SD panel. I close it by clicking the "X" on the upper left corner, or by left clicking the icon on the main panel. When I do that, the panel itself closes but the window always remains open.I can only close the window by right clicking on the window and choosing the FS "close window" command.Is there a way where both the panel and window will close at the same time?I have read the manual and have searched the forum without success.Thanks for any advice.Roberto

Slowly I make progress with the plane, but I guess I need to come back often to ask some questions :(. Here are those from my last FS session:1.On different situations, I experienced that most of the infos displayed on the APPROACH page can become dashed. Last time I saw this when I set up a traffic pattern flight plan but flew the route by hand in HDG SEL and ALT and VNAV only and bypassed some waypoints. An ILS approach was filed in the flight plan, and as long I didn't have the waypoint with the small ILS label above it on the F-PLN page as next waypoint, I got no ldg wt and no v speeds for approach. HIOne question about V/S during T/O and climb.I have notice that V/S during TO and climb usually exceed 4000 ft/min.I tried with full cargo config and maybe 20000kg of fuel and during TO i had V/S 4000ft.Is this normal behaviour? If not, what to do to correct this.ThanksHas

Hello Friends,First of all, thanks to PMDG for developing this amazing model for FS9.I have been flying the aircraft for some weeks now, and I have realized difference between GE model and PW model.When choosing a GE model, outside temp is 1+ celcius, choosing 58 as FLEX I get 99.0 as thrust reduction value and take off perform very well.But, when choosing a PW model, same weather conditions and airport, choosing 58 as Flex, the thrust reduction value is 1.44.I tried to change the flex value, but always shows 1.44 or highter. Dear Randazzo,Not only the problem of eyepoints and view angles, it seems there are serious conflicts or faults between Pre-Formatted Cockpit views settings.Entirely, cannnot use virtual cockpit views.
