...how to disconnect the autopilot in the MD-11 (press the button TWICE!!!)....that there are no fuel charts, take off charts, etc. etc. for the PMDG MD-11.Thanks in advance. I think these two questions are posted almost daily and maybe (just maybe) a sticky might help. I doubt it though...

Hi Gentlemen, Bought this PMDG product today by download.I have an official MSFS9 product french version baught years ago.FS9.1 installed.When trying to activate PMDG MD11, second page displays :FS9 version 9.1.0.40.901 required. You only have FS9 version 9.0.030612. Pls. install FS9.1Well, I said, could it be? Removed FS9 and re-installed it plus download again of FS9.1 from MS expecting that it would be fine.Here comes : FS9.1 already installed, installation abort and MD11 remains in unusable status. I'd like to use the product.I read on this forum that PMDG does'nt provide support on cracked MS products, just fine but this is not my case and I would appreciate support…

The synoptic for electrics is the only one which doesn't display powered bus lines in green, they're always white. What's the concept behind this exception when compared to e.g. hydraulics and air synoptics?Andreas

Hi all,I hope someone can help me. :( I am having a rather odd problem. Ever since the installation of the MD-11X my 747X has failed to work.When I load up the 747 all I can see is the top of the glareshield and the view outside. There are no screens in the view at all. (2D Panel)In the VC I can see the whole VC, but all displays are black even with power on.Outside, the nose wheel is turned 90 degrees to the airframe, the winglets are gone as are the animations and there are only the two outside main gear bogies.I have re-installed the 747 and the MD in an attempt to solve the problem.I hope there is a simple fix and that I am just being a bit thick. :( Best regards,Greg…

Hello there !Another post from the same guy (I am flying a lot this bird those days)Using my MD11, I got an overspeed (thanks to the wind change and a faster speed given by ATC).Speed reverted to protection... afterwards, I made a direct to a point in my FMC using DIR page... and the plane started to go to right then left then right... between old set HDG and the FMC new heading...To go out of this surprising problem, I had to put plane on HDG SEL mode then do the direct again and put NAV mode back online.No other isue afterward anyway...Regards.

I just bought the MD-11 Today and I am attempting to complete the tutorial flight. I load up FSX and click select aircraft. I choose the Swiss Air repaint like the tutorial says. It asks permission to run and ofcourse I hit yes and run. Then before it shows my plane in the window spinning in circles like usual. My FSX Crashes and a window opens that says FSX has had a fatal error and needs to shut down. I have restarted my computer a few times and I also tried loading a default flight with the ultralight and then selecting the MD11 but it still crashes FSX. I have SP1 and SP2 installed. I also noticed that my "Add Ons" tab was gone from the ALT menu at the top of the scre…

Hello everybody, I was searching for the topic before in the forum and used google as well, but could not find anything, perhaps someone can help me here.I would like to know what settings are the best to use with fsuipc and the md11 concerning the ailerons and elevators. I use a Saitek yoke and in the default configuration I feel the elevators and ailerons a bit to "loose" meaning you do not need so much power to get to a certain pitch or bank angle. I tried the pmdg option in the menu to reduce the LSAS sensibility , but that did not really help. I tried in fsuipc to configure the right values , so that the md 11 feels heavy on the yoke.Perhaps I am wrong and in real li…

Hi,I want to know why the team decide to add more visuals in FSX than FS9 whereas the old B744 PMDG has these features in FS9 ?As examples there are some Headsets or sunvisors for the sun in the FSX and not in FS9...Cheers,Duval.

So the MD-11 seems to want headwind and tailwind components in several places. Is there a way to just enter wind speed/direction and have the FMC calculate this compenent? If so, how? If not, how is everyone calculating/fetching all these wind components?Thanks,Shaun

Hi all!I have a problem with the sound since the update, after 20~30 min. the sound begins slightly to blur then in the time of 1 min. it disappeares, but not all of them (no clicksounds in the cockpit, AC sound gone, the cockpit voice wify dont want to talk anymore, etc.) the only things i can hear are the engines, without "windnoise", no rumbling of the engines if i try (+do to) start them aso.I have a creative xfi titanium soundcard, updated drivers and software, no probs anywhere or on other planes, so i think it lays on the md11?First i thought it where the xfi, who changed automaticly to 5.1 surround sound which i am not using, but that isn

1. Is there a click spot in the 2D cockpit for the GA function (as with the 747)? I have allocated a key in any event but was just interested to know.2. When I activated a go around on a missed approach into EDDF, the autopilot automatically changed to heading select. In due course I changed back to nav mode, expecting the autopilot to follow missed appoach waypoints preprogramed into the FMC. But it didn't, instead choosing to fly to waypoints found earlier in the approach. So I used the 'direct to' function to redirect the plane to the missed approach waypoints. All a bit confusing. I did a quick search but didn't find this answer.In the PMDG MD11 version, there appears to be only one stage of slat movement. Some aircraft, including the DC-10 (MD11 predecessor) as far as I know, have a second stage of slat extension that is deployed on approach only and adds significant drag, and often is deployed only on the outer bank of slats (as is the DC-10). Was there ever another MD11 version that had the second stage of slat deployment, or are all MD11's like the one that PMDG created and have only one stage of slats, and if so, is there a reason for this? After reading posts of fuel freezing at high altitudes on the MD11 I have been trying all winter trying to make it happen. Even flying up in the arctic regions with SAT of -60C the fuel tank still stayed above -40C. I even sat on the ground at Barrow, AK at -44C for 30 min and took off and it warms up on climb out. Well since the real world wx was not going to do it I made ASA give it to me. -90C at FL200. I started a descent into Barrow and as tank temps hit -42C the left flamed out followed by the right. To avoid a tragedy I went and bumped the temp back to normal. The tail engine manged to stay running and I got restarts on the left and right descending thru 3000 maki…

Does anyone know how to get vatsim traffic to appear on the md11 tcas for fsx? I can see trfc on the FSINN radar but not on the md11 tcas... Sq TA/RA in mode C with TFC selected.. Have registered FSUIPC. Anyideas?Jesse Rushlow

Hi there,I just have a question about starting this bird on battery power only (without ground power), from cold and dark. I'm following the Normal Procedures which is where the query is from. Obviously you turn on the battery, then switch the standby power to "Auto", then you start the APU.My question: in the 747-400, if in the same scenario, you would switch the ND to show the LOWER EICAS screen, so you could monitor the APU N1 rotation (and ensure it starts as expected)... how is this done in the MD-11? I was gonna start a flight with my MD-11, KSEA/CYYC when I noticed that there was no departure SID data for KSEA, it simply said "NONE" for runways and "NONE" for SID's. I also have this probem with KORD. I went on to Avsim and downloaded AIRAC Cycle 0812 for PMDG MD11/747/ect... and installed it into my PMDG SID/STAR folder overwriting any exitising ones, I checked to make sure that my curent data was 0812 "reason I downloaded 0812 to start with", which it was. After restarting FS I still have no departure/arriva data for KSEA or KORD. Might be a few other's but these to so far I have noticed. Did I do somthing wrong here. Any help would be appreciated as I enjoy flying …

Hey guys!I bought the MD-11 and flew the tutorial flight many times, but I always got the same problem:The CDU doesn't change from climb to cruise mode, it holds the altitude after the TC but if I reach the TD, the aircraft still holds FL 370, and no path deviation indication appears, on the FMS PERF page I'm still on the climb page and no informations are on the cruise page, so could anyone please help me?regards,Ben

Hello simmers!Great product this MD-11, love the differences with Boeings and Airbuses.I'm just testing the product so I decided to try the tutorial flight; everything went well up to the point where APPR/LAND button is pressed, nothing happened!The airplane flies over the exact center of the rwy at 4000'. Had to ask the passengers to use parachutes :)Two tries, same result. Found nothing in the forum regarding this problem, so I wonder what is going on!!!Any known issues? Is it 16:9 or 16:10 in FS9? I am about to buy 24" and there is a choice between BenQ with 1920x1200 and 1920x1080. I am not sure which one to go for as I am not sure what exact format MD11 has.Or it works fine on 1920x1200 as well without some nasty stretching?Of course I am talking about 2D as I do not use VC.I assume outside view is not negativelly affected by widescreen, i.e. strecthing and does not care if it is 16:9 or 16:10 but rather shows more view?Sorry for lousy english as it is not my language.Thanks for answers!Aleks
