Now that were talking about the manual. I was reading the EICAS/ENGINE section and do I understand it correctly that if you're (for example) in climb and lose one EEC the thrust setting will change even if you have static climb rate and now throttle changing. It's a part that I not understand fully. Thanks,

Hello gentlemen, Good luck with the release of the PMDG 747! It looks like a great product. While looking over the manual, a question came up: how does the FMC calculate a leg change? Is it based on distance to waypoint, airspeed, heading? I do not understand how it is done, and I would greatly appreciate any help.Yours Truly,Tiberiu Brasov

Where would the IRS be located in the 747? I found the pages dealing with it's operation, but can't seem to find a photo of it or it's location? I'm approaching 'geezer' status, so I may have missed it somewhere, but i thought I looked pretty good. Fitz

Hi guys, I was wondering if any retro liveries were included with the PMDG 747. If not, I was hoping that some would be painted, such as the BA Landor, or Cathay Pacific 1980-90s colours.Any recent info regarding the latest liveries will be appreciated.Regards,Tim

At Heathrow Airport in England, a 300-foot red carpet was stretched out to Air Force One and President Bush strode to a warm but dignified handshake from Queen Elizabeth II.They rode in a silver 1934 Bentley to the edge of central London, where they boarded an open 17th century coach hitched to six magnificent white horses. As they rode toward Buckingham Palace, each looking to their side and waving to the thousands of cheering Britons lining the streets, all was going well. This was indeed a glorious display of pageantry and dignity.Suddenly the scene was shattered when the right rear horse let rip the most horrendous, earth-shattering, eye-smarting blast of flatulence, an…

Just a question,On page 0-31 of the manual, you refer to Active Camera and views from different seats in the VC. Are the Beta Testers using a common Active Camera file? If so, will it be available for download to give us a better idea of the correct perspectives from your point of view? Just a thought, but I would love to see it,Thanks,-Paul Self BuiltLiquid CooledAMD 64 3400+2 Gigs Kingston HyperX DDR4006800GTRaid-0 Dual SATA Maxtor 120 Gig Hd'sDual Samsung 997 DF monitors

I have 737-800/900 installed, I have seen on offer 737-ng in the shops here and am wondering the following questions.the 800-900 install had some option to upgrade the 737-ng but I did not take it as I did not have the software, If I now go buy the software will I be able to install it without overwriting some 800-900 bits ? any other problems with doing the install this way round.also if I buy the 737-ng what exactly will it give me that I do not already have in 737-800-900 ?

With the release of the 747 getting nearer, and the anticipated increase in messages, could I suggest that any posts relating to specific aircraft include that aircraft in the subject?I, and I am sure many others do also, just skim message subjects, and don't read all mesages. If requesting help, the more you can put in the subject describing the help wanted, the greater chance of getting it. It would also help when doing a search to see if a subject has already been covered.Steve

Since the PMDG 747 will have the cost index feature working in the FMC, can someone given me and estimate on a 747 operation cost. The fuel cost would vary on location and I would be able to find the price. but can someone tell me an estimated 747-400 operation cost. I will be using this for the Virgin Atlantic airplane. Thanks. Jared

I am trying to repaint the 737-600/700/800 and am having some confusions about the paintkit. First of all the fuse, its hard to tell where the plane kinda ends because its a plane side forced into a rectangle....Does anyone have tutorials for repainting the 737?Thanks

Folks,I hate to repeat what's been said probably a 1000 times, but can't help it.Just a statement: please PMDG, consider creating a good quality Boeing 777.Regards,Dmitriy.

Just two I think simple questions which occurred to me last night:-1. I'm lined up on the r/w, everything's ready and I press the HDG button to arm HDG mode for when I switch on the a/p at about 1000 ft. Shouldn't I get some sort of visual indication that the HDG is armed ? The light only lights up when I hit the a/p button.2. I thought there was a way of switching the pressure setting from inches to Hp - mine will only show inches - is this not modelled only I thought it was ? (I have the 800/900 upgrade CD version).

Hi Guys,This may already may have been addressed but after reading the first 20 pages of the manual for the 747 I just had to ask. Will the program (Enter name here has I have forgotten it) that allows 2 pilots with 2 computers on a network fly the same plane be compatable with the 744? I know that it was only working with the original aircraft supplied with FS9, but seeing PMDG's contact with MS in the development of the add-on, I thought it may have come up?Sorry if im walking on old ground!!! I just cant remember the name of the Program and it made it very hard for me to find a topic in the search function! My Girlfriend has resigned to the fact that well if you can't be…

I know it isn't released yet, but I would love to hear if someone will attempt an Atlas Air and Polar Air Cargo repaint once the paintkit is released. Thank you to all the talented painters out there who will just add-on to an already amazing airplane.

I just found this great little program by Olivier STEINBERG that makes the computations for takeoff. Quick glance on PMDG supplied tables it is spot on! It also gives you MTOW for runway taking into account conditions! Great!http://mapage.noos.fr/b744-PS13/LPC_v22.rarHave a nice flight!Aleksandar

First, thanks for the terrific 747 manual...first rate!!! :-)Second, main point...I suggest that PMDG release the Boeing 747-400 pricing when the repaints become available this weekend to save on bandwidth and tie-ups of their website. This will prevent those who are budgeted from downloading the repaints thus saving everybody time and of course this will leave the available bandwidth to the purchasers.Just my suggestion...good luck on the release next week...Darryl ;-)

I just printed it on laser printer - not only double sided but squeezing two pages per sheet - so the whole thing is very compact (90 sheets) and the manual is very sharp throughout - have no trouble reading it. I may later print only some more important pages in full size. Printed in B&W - I think color would be unnecessary luxury. Oh, when you do that make sure you flip the printout around so you can easily read the pages in the landscape mode - very convenient. It might be helpful if we quizzed each other on the new Queen using the excellent manual provided by PMDG. May I suggest we allow one question per person and wait until a correct answer is given before the next? The person who answered correctly gets to ask the next or pass. Also, it might be wise to initially stick with those things that might trip up 737NG and/or LDS pilots. However detailed "ooleys" are welcomed! but the answer must be in the PMDG manual. Here goes: (toss-up for 50 points)1. Where is the TO/GA switch located?Bob.... :)
