Hi,For some reason no V-speeds are called out during the t/o roll in the 747 even though I have that option checked under the PMDG options menu and the FMC correctly programmed before t/o. 80 knots however is called out. Anyone with an idea what might be wrong?And also another question, is the push-back gauge only available when in the 2D panel or is it to be found in the VC as well somewhere?

I am trying to fly YMML-KLAX with a reasonable load on board. QANTAS flys the route with the 747-400ERHas anyone here 'overloaded' the 744 up to the 412.8 tonnes of the ER model and flown it? Did it work?What mods (if any) would be required to the airfile to simulate the higher 241,140 litres maximum of the ER model? If I were to increase the centre tank capacity to cover the extra 28,300 L would there be any obvious issues? (Other than support no longer being offered?)

Hey everyone, I just bought the 744 last night and love it so far. I have a problem though, when I switch to the VC, the displays are black. I have all my MCP controls, just no FD, ND, etc. I have searched and seen other with this problem and that a reinstall fixed it. I reinstalled and still no displays. Any help? I was just wondering... what keeps PMDG from releasing ANY version of the 737?...most of the systems are already modelled, so I'd think they would "only" need some panel textures, updated flight dynamics and exterior model and *zip* you have a 737-500? Or am I over-simplifying this?Just from a business perspective, this should be something to accomplish without reinventing the wheel.Just a thought. I might be completely naive on this.Pat

I purchased the 800/900 stand alone in CD format from PC aviator; I do not have the 737NG. I see in some of the posts here and tutorials I have read that there is a Load Planner for the 737NG. Does this exsist for the 800/900 or is this just something for the NG aircraft? If it does exsist, where can I find it? I've searched through all of the FS menus and supporting documents on the PMDG website and I can't seem to find it.

Hi All,I'm seeing some behavior of the FMC which i dont understand when i perform an FMC Throttle controlled take-off and climbout. PMDG737NGDurring the initial climb(below 10K, hand flying). I see the the throttle control switch from N1 to Arm then to MCP A/S control, speed=260 even though i preselected MCP speed of 240 durring the preflight. FMC clmb page=250/10000 also.-Why does it default to MCP a/s 260?-Is there a document avialable that explians FMC Throttle control logic?Also, (durring enroute/app. transition) what causes an FMC "Overspeed Disconect"?Thanks,Tom D.

Hi, I have asked this question on the FS Crew, but they are stumped so can anybody help. I am having a problem with the Auto throttle disengaging shortly after takeoff. Using the FS Crew programme, calling for flaps up, after take off checklist, the First Officer cuts the auto throttle. I am unable to re-arm this and am unsure what to do, other than to go very very fast, overstressing my bird, and risking all the lives of my passengers. Sorry, drifted off there! CheersDavid

Sometimes, when coming in to land, the copilot calls out altitudes that are somewhat different to the altimeter reading.I assume he's calling out radio altitudes while the altimeter registers height aove sea level.Am I correct?Cliff

Hi,Two questions on the 747:1. After landing I tried to turn on the APU to provide power when shutting down the engines after arriving at the gate but the APU never started, figured it might be because I hadn't any fuel left in the center tanks?2. During flight I received a couple of warnings that read 'Fuel pump 3 aft', 'Fuel pump 3 fwd' and the same for fuel pump 2 and no matter what I tried I couldn't get rid of those messages. Hi all,since nobody answered my questions in the already existing "doors thread", I try a new one:I'm able to open the main door (first on the left) with the standard shift+e command. I assigned several shortcuts to open the other doors in the PMDG-options-menue. But nothing happens (with none of the shortcuts I tried).So my questions are:1. Is it possible that you have to use shortcuts which are not already in use by the FS itself (maybe there are conflicts)?2. Can all doors be opened, even if the aircraft is not powered in any way? Or is electrical or hydraulic power needed to open the other doors (except the main door Shift+E)?3. Are there differences between BMP or DX…

Hi allI've tried to work the 737NG FMC by following the manual on the FMC (which is quite lengthy) but I still can't make it work!! :(I've just about given up.Does anyone have a little tutorial (they had this as part of the PSS Dash8 which was awesome) where they do an example flight plan using the FMC in a step by step process from beginning to end. ie. step 1 - enter ## in this, then enter ## in that, etc etc.Can someone post something like that for me? I really am at the end of my tether (and the 737NG won't accept FSNAV FMC either).Cheers

Hallo folks,During engine start sequence we do turn the A/C packs off and in real cockpit this results in fan noise to cease, so thus the overall cockpit noise goes down.Switching packs of in the sim NG does not have any effect on the noise at all.Another FS limitation?Thank you very muchRegards,Dom

Here's the problem:I programmed my 747-400 FMC to land at Runway 19 at Cape Town airport. About 80 miles out I changed from R19 to R01 as well as selecting the STAR for R01.After executing the change and closing the Discontinuity the Legs page showed that we were all set for Runway 01.HOWEVER, and this is what I don't understand, the Navigation Display retained the original purple track into my original choice of Runway 19.The only change on the display was a green line from the aircraft to the beginning of Runway 01.The plane continued to follow the purple track. Please................where am I going wrong?Cliff

Hi guys,I am new to the 737. It may seem like a stupid question but why can't I find the N2 gauge on the EICAS. I thought it maybe on a different page in the EICAS but I am not sure how to bring up other pages like on the 747 or 767. Am I missing something or is this airline specific. I can't find it in the manual either, although the screenshots definately show it.Please help I want to start my engines!!!!Thanks

I had set the 1st waypoint at 10,000 ft and the 2nd at 5,800 ft. The 2nd waypoint was 29 miles from the 1st. The aricraft descended to 10,000 ft properly and as I passed the 1st wapoint it started to descend to the second normally at somewhere around 1,400 to 1,800 ft/min. After a short distance the descent rate decreased to approx. 100 to 200 ft/min. By the time I was nearly on top of the 2nd waypoint the plane had only dropped to about 8,500 ft. About 1/2 way between the 1st and 2nd waypoints I had the speed down to 155 and 25 degrees of flaps. Just before or as the plane started to make the turn at the 2nd waypoint I got the FMC message "UNABLE NEXT ALTITUDE" The 3r…

Hello:I am flying the 737/900 series.I have the keyboard preferences for the panel modes set to keys that I like and can rememebr rather than the default keys. I have remapped them correctly as stated in the manual using the PMDG sub menu of the FS9 menu bar.All of a sudden the preferences go back to default & I have to re-set for every flight.Any ideas what the problem could be?Thanks...IAIN

Hi guys,Just been reading the PMDG Takeoff Manual and had a couple of questions hopefully someone might be able to shed some light on!Takeoff flap setting - are there any particular deciding factors for conducting either a flaps 10 or 20 takeoff? I originally presumed it was a factor of aircraft weight but the full range of operating aircraft weights are in both the flaps 10 and 20 tables!!! Derated thrust - "Whenever possible crews should conduct takeoffs using a derated takeoff N1 thrust setting...." Same thing again really - how to decide between 5% and 15% derate? My guess is this decided by the runway length available? Or is it just a case of different policies from …
