On the 747, after I save a flight then reload it, VNAV doesn't work because the performance settings are screwed up. That under the performance settings when I press the key to set the Gross Weight, it won't set it, so VNAV and be used and on the FMC VNAV page, the optimum and maximum FLs don't show up. How do I get this FMC to work right at this point?

Hi captains,using the PSS330/340 it was possible to enter the route-data using a syntax simmilar to "WAYPOINT/VIA" -> LSKs xRIn the PMDG744 I must enter "WAYPOINT" ->LSK xRthen"VIA" ->LSK xLIs there a work-around available which is not mentioned in the AOM to enter a waypoint and a via at the same time? (Of course I can use FS-Build etc.)greets,Volker

My understanding is that it defrosts the wings but if this is the case do i do this on the ground, prior to take off, or in the air or both?RegardsPaul

Hi everyone. When the 744 was cruising on autopilot today, I noticed that when I accidently brushed my CH yoke, causing it to turn a bit to the left, the autopilot disconnected! I turned back on the autopilot and tested it again to make sure. Sure enough a yoke turn yoke to the left or the right (not even holding it to the left or the right, just turning there in the first place) turns off the autopilot. Needless to say I would rather this tendency was disabled as it is it's very easy to accidently disable the autopilot in cruise, which isn't a good thing!!Thanks very much in advance for any help. hiMy question is what is preceisely is the EPR reading? as far as i know, it is an acronym for engine pressure ratio. how does the EPR relate to N1 and N2 (and N3 for RR) readings?and while i am at it, what are the main differences in the three variants?appologies if this has already been explained. sometimes, i find the search function on AVSIM to be a bit unwieldy.thanksTomsax

Hi Guys,Just a bit of feedback for the PMDG team to consider.Firstly the accuracy of the simulation is truly amazing and a joy to use (much to my partners annoyance).During the course a few flights I have come accross a few anomolies and I list them here for your consideration/checking.1. When the APU generators are selected on with the ENG generators already on line (ie. approaching the gate and putting the APU online prior to shutdown) there should be 4 messages on EICAS saying GEN 1 thru to 4 OFF.2. With HYD systems 1 and 4 inoperative the trailing edge flaps work via the secondary mode (electrics). There should be a FLAPS PRIMARY Eicas msg when the flaps are selected.…

Which engines can be started simultaneously: 1 + 4 and 2 + 3? Or 1 +2 and 3 + 4?Also, what is the correct sequence? from 4 to 1 or the other way around?And last but not least: if I choose to leave one pack running during engine start, which one do I choose? Sorry for wasting bandwidth with this question,I was thinking about upgrading from 1024 MB of RAM to 2048 MB or RAM. Would it be very smart to follow through with this ? Might the PMDG get better frames or not stutter in frames ? I ask this question becuase I ran some experiments on the PMDG 400F on my comp today and I found as soon as I turned down density on scenery my frames sky rocketed to around 30-40. Would upgrading to more RAM allow me to put the bars back up to dense or very dense and still allow my 400F frames to hover around 30-40 still ?Thanks,Tony Nelson

I uninstalled and reinstalled the 744 and 744F last night. But this still has not resolved my problem. I go through my preflight, setting up the FMC (I ensure the V-Speeds are there, and that I have no discontinuities in the route), startup and taxi to the active. Prior to taking the active, I arm the A/T. The V-Speeds are shown as usual in the NAV display in the correct postion on the speed guage. I start my roll as usual, pressing the screw head at 80% to activate the TO/GA mode. When I press it, my V-Speeds are deleted from the system, making it impossible for the A/T to go into any mode (confimed by not seeing the thrust mode in the display). The V-Speeds are replaced…

Hi all,Problem: After installing the 747 and 747F, I have lost access to my local network and network printers after starting up MSFS and it has loaded the PMDG stuff. I can't see any other computers, they can's see me, shared folders can't be accessed. If trying to print, I only get the error "the RPC server is not available". After quitting and rebooting computer everything works fine again until I start the FS - and the automatically loaded PMDG module - everything gone again.Anyone else who has experienced this? Anyone got a hunch as to how to fix it? Running XP Pro on a 3.2 GHz P4 with 1 GB RAM.Cheers

Good day all, although it is not good for me. ;( I started Flight Sim and changed the aircraft to PMDG 737 (after I started at the airport with a default aircraft) and it loaded. But, none of my keyboard commands work. I hit Alt, Ctrl, Esc, any key and nothing happens; I can't even change my view with the "S" key, Also, when I changed aircraft to the 747 I get a message saying "FSUIPC is too old, you need at least v3.48 or later. FS will now close." Any idea as to what is going on? The only thing I changed lately was add the PSS A319/320/321 last night. Help please. -- Jake

There seems to be a discrepancy between the basic operating empty weight and the zero fuel weight.As I understand it, BOW + Payload = ZFW. Correct? I have loaded 162,600lbs of cargo onboard the 747F via the load manager that came with the aircraft. I know this is a payload figure. When I add BOW + Payload on my handheld calculator, I show a ZFW figure of 556,600lbs. However, within the load manager utility the ZFW figure is shown to be 527,126lbs. From the dept. of nitty-gritty details:In the 747F I just noted that the cockpit dome light pulsates/flickers/flashes in the same pace as the beacon, when watching from the outside. It's not a mirage, even if you zoom in so that you can't see the beacons, just the pilots, the dome light goes on and off. A recent "National Geographic" program illustrated the almost impossible feat of flying and landing an aircraft after losing all hydraulic power. All the pilots can do is attempt to fly and land on varying engine power only.The programme went on the explain that a PCA (Propulsion Controlled Aircraft) system has been developed and incorporated into the FMC. New addition the NAVData and AVSIM FS2004-Flight Plan libraries. I have added approaches for the new runway 17L/35R, which are not part of the default FS9 scenery. However, several add-ons or commercial sceneries are available with this. I have included instructions on how to update latest AIRAC cycle data, which includes the new runways but the the navaid data. All DPs, STARs and ILS approaches have been edited for currency and use by turbojets. Complete documentation is included the an enclosed readme file.
