    1. When looking out of the cockpit, there is no window to the left, no officers seat to the right (2D panel). Only after choosing the PMDG General/Model/Virtual Cockpit menue again (still enabled) it will come up. 2. The estimated time for reaching the Top of Climb counts backward the closer it comes. At the end it is a time before the actual time. (see the picture)3. The offset flight leads at first to a big circle and overshoots. (see the picture)Except for these minor defects for me the new 747 is the most perfect simulation. And may be this perfection causes the critical look, remarking also trifles...

    Hello:For a while I've wondered what the switch in the overhead panel lower right marked Auto 35000 and Land Alt is? I cannot seem to find mention of it in the manual in such a way as to explain its reason for existence and how to use itI realise Land Alt is landing altitude - but what is it used for?Is it simulated in FS9?When would I use it?Thanks......IAIN

  4. Hi all,I don't know if any of you have notice but since installing the 747-400F, the EGT does not rise smoothly when it first appears on the upper EICAS. The EGT indication just pops up and then slowly rises normally. Before installing the 400F, it indicated just like it's supposed to. I don't think it's a video card issue but it could be. I have the INVIDIA, 128MB of video memory. But this problem only occured after installing the 400F. So is this a problem that will have to be fixed with the 400F or is it because of another problem? Have any of you or anyone in the beta team noticed this? If anyone has experience this, let me know. Ken.

    This DVD compliments the PMDG 747-400. Its like having a multi media manual at hand. I have it running next to me while flying. Pause the section that I am interested in. I have been flying the 747 PAX since it came out. I have learn more by watching this DVD as a fly than the manual could ever provide. A great addition to a great plane. I was surprised at the high level of detailed model in the PMGD 747 as compared to the 'real thing"Regards,Andrew:-)

    Hi Guys,I am a proud owner of all of the PMDG products and believe that there is no better sim developer out there. I am now considering purchasing the F. I suppose I am a little bit apprehensive before this purchase I think. I suppose I am having trouble justifying buying the F for what sounds like alot of cargo eye-candy. What are your impressions (for those of you who have flown the pax version)on this new airplane. I've read the release notes about what it offers. I suppose the new sound sets sound enticing, and some of the FMC fixes. Some of the engine instrumentation also.     This is my first post everyone and I realize that the 737 PMDG has this option however I am not sure of the 747.There has been a multitude of complaints regarding the 747-400F frame rates and I think a great way to improve the FPS without having to shut off a great deal of Gauges would be to disable the virtual cabin. I realize the 400F does not have a flight deck door and therefore it might be harder to cut off the virtual cabin. On the other hand, even if it might make the transition from VCockpit to outside of the VC look worse. I would be willing to make that sacrifice and I think other people might be willing to make a similar sacrifice to see a greater performanc…

    No I'm not complaining about a bug. When I choose an autobrake setting before landing in the 747, i get a yellow "autobrake" message on my EICAS. When I land, the autobrakes do not activate. I was searching aorund the forums, and found some stuff about conflict between the pedals or yoke (I use both), so I tested RTO on a rejected takeoff, and it worked beautifully. That and the error message on the EICAS leads me to belive that I am doing something wrong. Is there a procedure for activating autobrakes for landing that I am missing?Thanks.Zach

    If you have seen the IITV DVD, it is in the e-commerce section on PMDG's site, you have seen how the F.O had on his "clip board" an area to scratch down several peices of info, like clearance, squawk, initial climb, zfw or PLW or tons of other information. I know I can take a legal pad or note pad and do the same thing. But, after using a modified checklist, found somewhere on avsim, that has blanks for information that is necessary to review and remember like the V speeds, flaps, QNH, derated thrust and other vital checklist info, I thought it would be great to have such a scratch pad like the F.O on the DVD.     Hi all,I've got a question about the sound audible in the cockpit when the spoilers deploy upon landing. For those who don't know what i'm talking about its the file PMDG747_spdbrk.wav in the soundpmdg747400 folder. What is it actually that we hear, is it the mechanical operated lever or something? Is that why it is only audible upon landing or aborted takeoff when reversing thrust and not e.g. by fully deploying the spoilers manually?Greets,Jeroen

    I am using FSBuild for all my flight sim planning. I have done the majority of my flying in the LDS 767 and FSBuild gets the fuel right on. I also have the PSS Airbus 320 and it also gets the fuel right. So far out of three flights in the 747 it has always been way short. I did the math on the last two flights (about 5 hours each)and I burned 123% and 115% of the fuel it planned. Are you guys that use FSBuild using anything different for your fuel planning? Is there more accurate performace data available for FSBuild? I am using Active Sky for the winds so that shouldn't be the problem.

    Hi guys,I am not sure whether this has already been discussed. I used the search and were not successful.Have you noticed that when you want to descent with VNAV descent mode prior to top of descent the VNAV page in the CDU is completely deleted. I set a new altitude in the MCP then go to the VNAV descent page and press Des Now (I expect a moderate descent until capture of the FMC calculated deccent path). The problem is that then all speed restrictions are cleared. I usually then switch to FLCh mode.What do I do wrong here?? Suggestions are very much appreciated.RegardsFabian
